We visited Sandefjord for 3 days to see friends who live here and stayed at the Clarion as our base.

I only stayed here for one night, on my way to somewhere else. Comfortable room, better than average breakfast in a room filled with whaling regalia, good price. Central location in a quiet town. Short walk to the station.
It is a pretty hotel in the little town of Sandefjord. The lobby looked promising and modern, the rooms were a bit outdated but of a good size with comfy beds and heated floors in a bathroom. This hotel has a sort of a museum...More

We came by train from Oslo, but flew out from the airport. From the hotel to the train station was only a short walk (even with suitcases to pull) and there was a bus from Torp station to the airport. This was included in the train ticket which was only a few Euros. We only stayed one night at the hotel but enjoyed it. Sandefjord is a pretty spot, but there was not much to do. Visit the whale museum. It is interesting. Also lots of memorabilia at the hotel. We had a superior room which was spacious and comfortable. the evening meal that was included was fine and the breakfast was very good. All in all it was value for money.
Renovations - don't know when last done, but seemed in good condition
Station is a short walk from the hotel, with trains to Oslo (about 90 min ride) and also to the station near Torp airport (one stop)
