The Seaburn Inn - The Inn Collection Group offers a stay experience that elicits mixed feedback. While the hotel is celebrated for its beachfront location and welcoming atmosphere, some guests have expressed concerns over noise disturbances. The staff is often commended for their friendliness, yet there are reports of slow service at times.
Travelers enjoy the well-equipped rooms with scenic views, but the value proposition is questioned due to high costs and additional fees. Cleanliness is generally praised, but there is room for improvement in maintenance.

Detailed Reviews
Travelled 142 miles from Nottinghamshire for a wedding. We didn't have the space for a travel cot as well as all our other luggage in the car. At no point during booking does it give you the option to say the age of your child. We ended up automatically being given a family room with bunk beds because we said we were travelling with a child. There was no travel cot provided even though upon booking I wrote that we needed one in the special requests section. Also, on the check in link they email before check in I once again requested a travel cot, still nothing. We ended up paying for a larger room, with extra beds that were of no use to us. Our 6 month old baby had to co sleep with us, this is not something we do and not something that is the recommendation for safe sleep. There needs to be an option for you to state how old your child is, so that the hotel can provide the correct equipment for their youngest guests. I would say it is family friendly, but not baby friendly so maybe think again about booking here if you won't have the space to bring your own travel cot. Aside from this, it is good value as tbe cost of breakfast removed from the price makes it on par with cheaper chain hotels.

An overnight stay - the Inn was on the seafront and catered for us as 2 adults and 2 children. The room was clean and spacious with a very big bed and bunk beds for the children. Breakfast was very nice. The children dined in the evening Fish and Chips - quite a small portion for £7.95 they are aged 8 years and they were disappointed with the size of the fish. All the food looked good that was being served around us. We opted for the Chinese across the road which was very good. Overall it was very good. The value for the accommodation was excellent, but the food was a little expensive. A sign of the times we are in at the moment. We would stay again.

2 night stay to attend a local event. Remote check in at the bar & room allocation. Had requested a balcony room when booking in April - allocated a sea view room but without a balcony & situated over the bar area so we could answer the quiz questions until that stopped around 1015hrs.
Room itself was spacious, clean and comfortable. Breakfast served in the bar area offered a good selection and all was of good quality. Staff were pleasant and helpful at all times.
Parking was tricky on arrival on Sunday afternoon as the pub was busy with the weather being good. I’m guessing you would need to park on the seafront & pay until there was space.
Overall, great stay, disappointed with not having a balcony but not the end of the world.

It’s 4.30am I have the displeasure to be sleeping in a bed that has a human shaped hole were a mattress used to be, the side wall has collapsed so it wants to tip me out !!!!
Yesterday we waited 40 minutes for breakfast when it arrived it was cold
And consisted of boiled mushrooms, sausages with more rusk in them than a farleys ( age appropriate reference) bacon that was boiled in its own juice and as pink as a baby’s bottom.
Croissants on the buffet table hadn’t even finished defrosting and there was something in a glass that that was more akin to poly filler than food
I have to agree with other comments it is a nicely. Built and presented hotel
With a prime location However it’s a hotel for dog walkers and coffee drinkers , you spend more time stepping over dogs lying in the walkway because the locals think it’s cute to bring your puppy into a food serving area and feed it food from their own plate, do t get me wrong her I love a dog but not in a restaurant area during peak period of service.
I think I definitely qualify as being an old git but over the years I have made exception when staying in hotels but as far as value for money and food quality I can say I will not be coming back here
Staff need to be charming and polite as they are making up for the exceptional poor management and leadership of senior managers
Before you condem my review have a think on how you too could waste a couple of hundred pounds on a two night stay with breakfast included and still walk away hungry as nice as it looked I didn’t think it was served cold ( and yes I did give them a second chance but even this was cold, warm on the top cold on the inside )
To sum up I will be walking down to the salt kitchen to have breakfast this morning I believe they have the technology to serve hot food and give a dam about their reputation.
I can honestly say say I will NOT be returning here and if you want to try it for yourself crack on but prepare for disappointment, after all it’s your money spend it how you want but if poor food and nice surroundings is your thing this is the spot to come to, there is nothing I want from this hotel other than to pick my way across sleeping dogs to get to the door out of here !

The prices increased at the hotel for the Triathlon weekend that we stayed. This would have been more acceptable if the hotel was actually worth these prices but sadly it isn't. We stayed in a balcony room which to be fair, was very nice with a great view of the seafront. The downside was that the room had no air con and was quite stuffy and warm all night. You couldn't really leave the patio balcony door open over night due to noise (you have the stack next door and drunks are spilling out quite like on). The pillows were bad quality and the bed wasn't the best. The positive was that the hotel is very dog friendly and allowed the dogs in the room no problems.
The worst part of this stay however, was the evening meal. I don't recommend eating here !! It was Friday evening and very busy with a long single file queue to order at the bar . Once at the bar and ordering food, the miserable female member of staff told me that approx 4 items on the menu weren't available. This led my partner to order the chicken thai green curry (17 quid!!) and me the Sea Trout (14 quid). On ordering two drinks, I had to remind the staff member to make the second drink (and the first drink which was a cocktail (9 quid) didn't taste that great. Waited for the food approx 45 mins to be served to us. The chicken thai green curry got sent back by my partner. It was absolutely disgusting and looked and tasted like a watery soup . A member of staff who came over actually agreed and offered to swap it for something else. I had the sea trout which was tiny , served with some plain Uddin noodles and a few stir fried veg. My own version made at home tasted so much better than this and I could not see or taste any teriyaki sauce (it was advertised as Teriyaki sea trout on the menu). My partner waited a further 20 minutes for the burger replacement which was better than the thai green curry but just lacked love and detail - it was simply a burger and chips (no side salad etc). For 17 pounds, you expect so much more ! Its a shame as this place could be so nice due to its prime location on the front. Breakfast was better than dinner and a good spread of continental as well as being able to order a hot breakfast at the bar. Just eat somewhere else in the evening!

We were there for five nights while visiting family. Couldn't get safe to work so thought I'd phone reception for help but discovered there wasn't a phone in the room. Staff tried but couldn't fix the safe and Maintenance didn't fix until third day after daily reminders. No bottled water in room, staff member said this was because there wasn't a fridge in room. Breakfast for residents was from 07:30 until 09:30 but for anyone else up to 11:00. Staff member said this was because residents had to check out by 10:30. That didn't make sense as we were staying for 5 nights. Suspect it was to get residents out of the way to make room for general public. Bedroom wasn't made up every day until afternoon even though sign was on door when we went for breakfast. Tables in breakfast area were often not cleaned until requested and there was often food on the floor. Hotel is dog friendly but allowing dogs to sit on furniture is over friendly. The hotel is a nice building with good size rooms in a good location, and has a lot of potential. Sadly we felt it was poorly managed and more for the benefit of staff rather than residents. Attaching reception to the bar meant that it was never clear who at reception was responsible for getting things done. I'm afraid that we'll be trying another hotel for our next visit.

Bad points, £28 for an average bottle of wine was expensive.
Good points are in abundance. The welcome we received upon entering was warm and friendly. The atmosphere was wonderful as was the decor. We literally booked online five minutes before we arrived, but our booking was found quickly and efficiently. The location is excellent with ample parking.
Every single member of staff was extremely friendly and spent time to talk to my 88-year-old Dad. We stayed two days, one night. He said it was the best two days he had had in many years. Thank you to all the staff that made his stay, and mine so brilliant. We will be booking again soon and spend longer next time.

This is a great place to stay in the seafront at Seaburn. The hotel is convenient for local amenities (local shops and restaurants, fish n chips, Morrisons and buses to South Shields and Sunderland). Rooms are well appointed with plenty of storage, work space, comfy bed, etc. A small safe is provided for valuables which is a useful touch. Good supplies of tea, coffee and biscuits. Small but adequate shower room. The hotel served one of the best breakfasts that I have had in a hotel for quite some while - there is a very adequate continental buffet and a good choice of hot food is cooked promptly to order - much preferred to bacon and sausage which has been sat on a buffet for ages! Daytime food is also a good quality and well priced with a wide choice of beers. And sooooo friendly staff making you feel very welcome.

Visited the Seaburn and I was very pleasantly surprised by the hotel (rooms and view). It is most definitely worth paying the extra for the rooms with the sea view and the balcony. The hotel is very busy at the weekends and has a very popular restaurant but I was a little disappointed by the food and only tried it once during our stay.
I would have given the top score if the food had been better and my only minor issues with the hotel were - the soap in the shower and over the sink was a little too high and not easily reached, the door handle for the shower can prove problematic when your hands are wet and you cannot get out of the shower and getting your room “‘serviced” - only happens if you hang a sign on your door. I’m not keen on that process as it advertises you are not in your room and the rooms are accessible from the bar.
These small niggles would not stop me from staying there again. I will have no hesitation returning.

We got the impression that the hotel is far more interested in walk ins for food and drink rather than hotel guests, who are perhaps an added inconvenience. Check in is 3pm, but if you arrive early (after a 4 hour drive) that is not negotiable. Most hotels offer a bit of flexibility as there is no way all rooms suddenly become available at 3pm. They suggested we go drink or eat in the bar. Of course they do. We went elsewhere to eat, far more cheaply.
Breakfast for residents ends at 9.30am, which is ridiculously early on a Sunday morning. However breakfast is served until 11am (as stated on the breakfast menu) but it appears that is for walk in customers.
It seems its 9.30am for residents because they want you out of your room by 10.30am. I enquired about a late check out and was told abruptly and quite rudely that will cost me £25 for an extra 90 minutes only, making late check out midday. This is laughably what some hotels call normal check out. A late check out buys you until 2pm at the earliest at most hotels.
Service is not good as members of the team will ignore you whilst chatting amongst themselves.
On the positive side, Seaburn is a nice resort with a lovely beach and we had a balcony overlooking the promenade and the sea, The room was adequate but the shower screen was stiff and got stuck closed meaning you had to prise it open from the bottom.
It's not cheap at £199 for one night (which at one point was on a booking site at £378). Don't stay here, try somewhere else.

Yes in all there inns
No there was no air con. The room was very warm and we could not open the balcony door as adjacent balconies could see straight in. Hope this helps :)
