Location wise fantastic, BCS Mall and A2 food court just across the street. 24/7 convenience store right beside the hotel. Many massage parlours around the shop houses near the hotel. Lots of variety of food to choose from the shop houses nearby. KTV, Pub, Spa and massage located in the same building. Rooms are relatively new but not totally sound proof. Highly recommend if you are here for short stay.

I was very pleased when we stepped out the ferry terminal, we saw our name. A guy who was also the driver was sent to pick us up. This service is free by the way.
It's about 10mins drive from Harbour Bay ferry terminal to the hotel.
Checking in the hotel was a breeze. 100,000 rupiah was asked as deposit for each room. The money will be return back when you check out.
The hotel room was small but it was enough for a couple and two small kids (toddlers). I am very pleased with the cleanliness, the heater, remote, air conditioning were all working great!

The location of this hotel is just the best! It is within walking distance (5mins) to BCS mall. This mall has everything. Food, restaurants, coffee house, massage salons, nail salons, hair salons, apparells for babies, children, teenagers, men and women! There's also a supermarket where you can buy local products.
Beside this hotel there's also a spa. Good, clean but slightly expensive. If you walk to the main road, there are a few massage place that charges SGD$12 for 2 hours of body massage! Bliss!! (No hanky panky kind)
I guess my ONLY complain about this hotel is the breakfast. It is nothing to shout about but with the price we pay, we don't really mind. There were fried rice, fries bee hoon, bread with assorted jam spread, watermelon n honeydew, porridge and drinks. It's good enough.
Oh and going back, we had to pay for our own taxi to the ferry terminal. It was only 50,000 rupiah but of course the driver expect you to give a tip!

This area in Batam is always my favourite place to stay with all the necessities that you wouls want to spend your weekend here for food, shopping, movie and massage.

Thus, when Batam City Hotel opens only mid of this year, i would think this will be a great choice to stay for another cheap option, yet brand new hotel here.

Arrived early at 11am yesterday and we were offered early check in by the hotel which is aituated at the back lane yet safe to walk to BCS in 3-5 mins. That was a very good gesture of them in terms of being a customer oriented hotel since many of Simgaporeans would choose to arrive early to batam. All service staff spoke really good english and we felt welcomed with its welcome drink. They even explained and showed me a sample of the kueh lapis their hotel has offered for made to order within 24 hours. Price is reasonable from 180k onwards. A tupperwear container is given to keep your kueh lapis fresh and moist if you purchase the 200k price tag kueh lapis. The cheese kueh lapis i bought is awesome, so cheesy taste and highly recommended! Other options are available as well.

The hotel is not big but the walkway feel very stylish at each of the level in this 5-storey hotel. Only one lift so since i stayed at level 3 (they consider ground floor as 0), so i choose to walk up and down if no shopping bag or crowded at lift with other stayers.

Let's talk about the room, mine upgraded to an executive business twin from a deluxe double with is digital card entry but bear in mind it is not fully closed if you do not forced it closed tight enough. Please bear in mind, perhaps is only my room 210? Nevertheless, it is our responsibility to check but hope the hotel can do something it in case someone entered the room by mistake or for any security reasons.

Room size is adequate for shoppers since it is considered large enough to place your luggage bags opened on the floor without feeling squeezy. Lightings is sufficient in room, with free wifi, mini fridge and safe. Nice that they even have a rain shower overhead in toilet with basic toiletries. Only one toothbrush is offered but that does not bother me. There was a weird smell of their hand towel so i did not use it. Bath towel are alright, anyway. LCD TV is considered large for batam hotel standard so it is a plus point for this hotel. I notice some rooms, interestingly, have pillars in the room like my friends' one at room 209 in room and toilet.

Ok, now we talk about the breakfast which i think this is the only down side of the hotel. it is true that the hotel need to beef up their breakfast menu and speed. What you would expect would be toast bread of one type (white), fried noodle and rice, vegetables, soy sauce chicken, fruits, congee and made to order egg at the buffet counter. Understable with such a small breakfast area, maybe that is the point. The service a little slow to top up and refill, though they have sufficient staff. Coffee is only lukewarm so do remember to ask for real hot one. Anyway, Dont expect too much when you compare the price you paid for vs value of the hotel. It is still worth your penny to stay here, even I think it would be room for improvement for food type and service.

Hotel offers their own transfer to batam centre ferry terminal at 85k, despite taking normal cab is 70k. However their quality of transport is better for your bigger luggages if you are a shophalic!

For area nearby there is really nothing to fault on, with first choice spa next to hotel (which is connected to many tour packages usually), several massage places available around. Highly recommend Reborn Massage, a well known brand in indonesia, which i have tried before in Bali. Great massuer and ambience. Tipping is necessary as usual. Foodwise, A2 open air food court is a must for seafood crave, and many eateries nearby from street stalls to coffeshops to restaurant in BCS mall. Dont forget to buy the groceries in BCS supermart, as comparing to batam megall mall and nagoya hill i find that their groceries and toiletries seemed to be slightly cheaper than the other malls. Many restaurants, manicure/pedicure shops, and not to forget a movie theatre at only 35k per movie!

Anyway, rcommending this hotel and i will come back for sure...for their price (if they maintain as cheap as now compare to nearby hotels), excellent frontdesk service, spacious carpeted room, kueh lapis order and excellent location!!!

The hotel is old
The housekeeping is the worst I ever see.
Rooms are not clean
Bedsheets are stained,towels are smelly.
Safe are spoilt, you can see dust and dirt in all the corners you can spot. Corridors and rooms of certain levels very heavy smell of cigarettes.

It was our first time coming to Batam after so many years, way before covid. My husband and I booked a stay at Batam city hotel for our postponed honeymoon. Everything was marvellous. The interior and exterior of the hotel was beautiful. It was literally a high end hotel. Value for money was great. Loved the room. It was king sized bed. It was so spacious for us. Loved that they had a welcome drink how sweet, that we can collect from the lounge. What a sight. It was clean. Fantastic.
Staffs were knowledgeable and like I said before, Indonesia gives an amazing service. Overall, we will return back. That is a promise so thank you!

I was looking forward to stay in this hotel after personally visited the hotel before I stayed during my last trip in nov. Had booked the junior suite thru a local friend and was able to get a room.

Was amazed by the clean, neat and comfortable room upon checking in. Pictures was exactly the same in the website. Kids love the spacious room and the toilets too.

This is the only hotel that I felt the most comfortable with the pillow and the bed. My kids had a good sleep and we missed all the breakfast that was included in. Nevertheless, the nearby kopitiam also serves our favorite food. The location, still e best as our favorite shopping mall is there.

We booked for 4days 3 nights, the service and the friendliness of the staff are definitely a draw for me to go back there again! The receptionist, bellboy (esp), maintenance team and the security staff, are very friendly and so approachable that made us very happy throughout the entire stay.

The rooms are well kept and room service was provided daily and we always came bk hotel in a clean and tidy room.

Aircon and water heater are in very good condition, without all this well maintained, we would never had a good stay in the room.

Compared to gideon, this is definitely worth the value and great location! I regretted did not booked till 28th, but 27th as the rooms are full and left reluctantly.

The only thing I can complain are the bed, which is so comfortable that made us missed our breakfast and overslept, ops, should be compliments bah.

i stayed here or 2 nights and felt so satisfied. actualy this ia a new hotel. the room is comfy and clean, alll furnitures are new and in good condition. the bathroom is quite simple but really clean. i stayed in excecutive business with twin bed. the room has a big window and the size of the room is large enough, you can put an extra bed inside. it's really worhty and value for money, only about $30 for one nite. the location is near from BCS (one mall in Batam) and many shops that sell high quality bag with low price, many food stalls around, and the most famous souvenir shop TOP100 you can reach them just by walking. a lil bit hard to find a comfy hotel with low price in Batam, and Batam City Hotel is definitely my choice if i go to Batam again.

We booked this hotel as it is a stone throw to BCS Mall and A2 foodcourt (plenty of seafood, Malay and chinese cuisine that operates from 5pm to 1am). We paid about SGD 38 for a night stay in this hotel.

We got off at Batam Centre Terminal and boarded a taxi from Batam Mega Mall (which is beside the terminal linked via a bridge) to this hotel, it cost us IDR 60,000. Surprisingly there is a standard price list that cab drivers follow in here.

Check in was quick, staff at reception was friendly, room size was fairly big for a twin sharing bed. Mini fridge was available, wifi speed was good as well. The downside was blanket has stain on it, room has a pungent smell considering it is a new hotel, the entire toilet get "flooded" when you have your shower as the kerb within the showering area was not high enough to contain the water.

As for their breakfast, this was one of the worst I ever had as a frequent traveller to Batam. Noodle, chicken, mixed vegetables, toast and jam, coffee and tea were only what they have. Noodle was saltish, chicken was stale even though they had just replenished from the kitchen. Staff was rude in the dinning area, yelling at us for our room number after we did not response for the first time in Bahasa which we do not understand. Not very nice of them to spoil our day so early in the morning.

Overall:

Location : 4/5 next to shopping mall and food paradise

Hotel cleaniness: 2.5/5 Average.

Hotel Staff: 3/5 courteous staff at reception but surely not those in the restaurant

Will I return to this hotel? No, there are definitely better hotels near the vinicity with the same price.

Stayed at this hotel for 1 night only. Previously this hotel was a vacant lot built up to a new hotel in less than 6 months. Choose a Deluxe room. Comfortable room, with amenities like queen bed, desk, 2 towels, 2 hand towels, flat screen tv with decent channels selection, free wifi, a mini fridge, a closet, safe box, kettle for boil water, 2 bottles water, and very good water pressure from shower in the bathroom, with sliding door to minimise the water flowing out.

Free breakfast also provided with usual oriental food like fried noodles, congee, a meat dish, then with bread/toast and also fruits. Coffee, tea, fruit drinks also available.

Hotel is near to BCS Mall for shopping, near A2 foodcourt, and few local chinese shops that have affordable meals.

But for me, the housekeeping team really needs to improve their work. Upon checkin, I found some unthrown rubbish still in waste bin like bits of plastic and paper, and 2 already eaten ice cream case are left inside the fridge!! Also the table surface has stains which probably from food or beverage!!

On overall, still a good experience to try out this new hotel. Will still consider to stay again next trip.

Book my room through booking.com. The hotel provide free airport or harbour pickup. You need call the hotel to have this free service. Hotel is new , only about 3 months, so everything in the room is new. Have flat screen TV, mini fridge, safe box. Buffet breakfast is included in the rate. Hotel is very near BCS Mall and have many eateries and massage shops nearby which is very affordable. Have free wifi in the room. Would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Batam.
