My wife and I travelled the world over many years, and this was one of the best hotels stays that we ever had. We spent 6 days in the H Hotel, and we loved every minute of it. It was our 25th Anniversary and we did a lot of travelling, eating & sightseeing in Malta and Gozo - it was a pleasure to return each evening to this hotel. The staff were extremely helpful and very tolerant of some of the "less than polite" guests. From the Rooftop Infinity Pool staff who were so polite to our manager "Plamena" she oozed professionalism. It is very well branded and ambitious standards prevail throughout. If you are considering spending time, here be aware that it is in the heart of the nightlife portion of St Julian so expect plenty of "Buzz" music and young adult energy. If you are looking for a silent night - try downtown Valetta. But if you want to have a high-quality hotel with friendly and efficient staff right in the happening part of town. This hotel is truly one of a kind. Located in St Julian’s right in the heart of Malta’s nightlife area, the hotel is extremely well-located. H is part of the Hugo’s chain so we were able to get free room service from any Hugo’s restaurant since we were so comfortable in the room that we didn’t want to go out. The hotel is impressive and it’s clear that a lot of money had been invested to ensure that everything screamed out LUXURY! The reception area is unique and the receptionist was efficient. We had booked directly and their manager Josefa was simply amazingly helpful. Our room was massive and the decor was so classy. We had a massive hot tub in our room which was so much fun. The seaview was breathtaking and we didn’t regret paying a little more for a room with a balcony. We will definitely stay at this hotel again.…

We stayed at H Hotel in Malta over 3 weeks ago now and are still waiting for our £200 holding deposit upon checking into the room. The room check was done as we left and were told everything was fine which it was yet we are still waiting for our money after all this time. In my opinion, £200 is a lot of money to be held considering the price we paid for the hotel as well, so the least that you can do is return the money as soon as we leave. I have contacted the hotel twice now and had no response back. I would like a response back to this on how and when we will be getting our money back.

We are sorry to hear that you are disappointed with our pre authorization policy, please allow us to explain the process further: after we check your room and clarify that everything is fine, the security deposit (pre authorization) is automatically released - canceled from our side, the next day. However, it can take up to 21 working days for your bank to process this transaction and unblock the holding amount (which then becomes available again). Ideally, if it is taking more time, we always suggest contacting the bank and inquiring about this issue. Additionally, our team can always assist and send you a receipt - proof that the same has been canceled, so please feel free to contact me at crm@hugosmalta.com and I will forward this request to the relevant department. We stayed in H Hotel for a 1 week stay at the end of September and would not recommend to anyone. We arrived early to the hotel due to our flight arriving early morning in Malta. We asked if possible could we check in early and the receptionist did say she would prioritise our room and that it would be ready shortly. We arrived back at 3pm to be told our room still wasnt ready, annoyed as we did see other guests on our flight checked in before us, we decided to let it go and not ruin our trip. Once checked in, the room we recieved didn't have the correct hot tub. It was circular and couldn't fit more than one person at a time. It also leaked when filling. There was bigger square ones as I saw in rooms beside us. Again, not what we expected as we booked the room based on the photos on hotel website. Pool has extremely limited sunloungers for the amount of guests staying in the hotel. You also need to ask reception for a pool towel card each morning despite being a resident and your name and room number being available to the staff on the rooftop at check in? Breakfast was probably the only recommendation I would off to anyone as there was a nice variety and was also hot and fresh, you could even have your own omelette made in front of you in minutes! To top off it all off, we got engaged on the rooftop the second evening we arrived, I will admit it was raining on and off throughout the evening, it didn't bother us so we didn't think it would bother the staff, we weren't in anyone's way however the staff from the bar didn't ask but told myself and my Fiancé to "move out of the way" as he moved the furniture inside because the rain was starting. I asked if I could have just a moment to get ourselves to get and get a photo as we had just gotten engaged and I was told " you need to move because of the rain".. There was enough space around us to move the furniture and again we didn't mind the rain, we had just gotten engaged. This completely ruined our moment and we didn't receive any knowledgement from the staff after this. So we finished our drinks and quickly left. My Fiancé also asked if there could be a surprise placed in our room such as rose petals on the bed or a bottle of champagne, that he even said he would pay for to which he was refused because the "housekeeping staff finished at 7pm" . I work in Hospitality and have even been a duty manager in hotels where this request has been ask for by guests and it was my duty to ensure the guests need where met and to ensure they had a wonderful experience, not the housekeeping staff. This response to me basically says that they didn't care and didn't want to go to the trouble of getting someone to do it. Revenue also lost here. Upon check out we weren't asked for our feedback or if we had a lovely stay however I did explain all of this to the receptionist and her response was "I'm sorry about that" and nothing more was said. We paid over €1,350 to stay in this hotel for the week plus we also dined in their restaurants and bars too and to receive this response was enough for us to both decide we will not be back to this hotel despite getting engaged here which is a shame as we had high expectations due to it reviews and photography. I also second the reviews that the €250 deposit on arrival is outrageous. Our room constanly smelt of mold when you came back and tiles in the bathroom were not secure enough. There was also scraps/scratches along the mirrors on the ceiling and long length mirror. The "strip" is also located at the side of the hotel, regardless of where your room is located your will constantly hear music till 4am, even in off peak season. Our room was located in the center of the hotel and could still here the nightlife clear as day at 3am most nights. This amount as a deposit is outrageous given the condition of the room and the volume of noise heard inside from outside the hotel. …

Some of your comments will be checked carefully and taken into account immediately, as we constantly work on improvement and do our best to become better, while creating positive experiences to our clients. To be honest, some aspects we will not comment this time, as some of the things mentioned here are quite clear and advertised when booking with the hotel directly (we are sorry if some other booking provider did not give you all of the necessary information). Having said that, I primarily refer to the check-in time, security deposit policy, hot-tub types, vibrant neighborhood, first comes first served rule for Infinity Pool. Also, our housekeeping team has its working hours like everyone else and some things we are not able to honor last-minute, I am sure that as hospitality workers, you can understand this. Worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in. Mould and damp all over the corridors and in room. Staff absolutely useless, damaged our suitcase. We were moved to another hotel but only until our last night, took £250 off us before we where given our room which took hours to get.

First impressions on arrival it seemed very dark(daytime) . In the evening it's stunning. The hotel was alight at night like a landmark.The room allocated (an Elegant room) wasn't to our expectations (not enough light no balcony and no seaview)and we were prepared to move hotel. The reservations manager Teo was so helpful in every way possible he went above and beyond our expectations to satisfy our needs. We paid for an upgrade for our remaining time and after moving from a partial Seaview and balcony room for 4 days was then surprised by Teo as we moved again. This time we found ourselves in a penthouse suite. It had a very large balcony with fully opening sliding doors to a hot tub, 2 very large sunbeds also a table and four chairs and a seaview. Inside it had its own small kitchenette area and Lounge a large bathroom and separate bedroom. The room service was 100%. Cleanliness was excellent and all our needs were met as requested. The infinity pool on the roof and infinity bar were both amazing. The staff were so polite and friendly and looked after us with such kindness. Overall our stay was excellent. The only downside for me personally is that outside the hotel there were too many steps to gain access to all the restaurants to eat at night. Not an area if you have knee problems.…

Just leaving this amazing hotel. Cannot understand why it’s not a 5 star hotel From start to finish my experience here was impeccable The staff at reception are all well mannered well spoken. We were checked in very quickly. The room is out of this world, decor 100% on point. Cannot complain, clean very spacious with sea views and views of the high street. Walk in bathroom was an amazing experience. All glass and very large in size The indoor pool amazingly designed, it was a bit daunting at first as it’s in the dark but once I got a feel for it was lovely experience. Clean and spa staff very friendly The infinity pool again amazing but deep good for people who can swim well Breakfast was continental and restaurant staff very helpful and polite.
