Booked a 2-night stay through Groupon for January 2020. We had a delightful stay! Michael & Dave took such good care of us; they are accommodating, thoughtful and attentive hosts. We ate at the hotel for 4 wonderful meals and commented on the quality and freshness of the produce (I recommend the full house omelette and their grilled fish). The room was very comfortable and the hotel itself is ideally located only a short drive away from many sights and adorable towns. Thank you so much.

We highly recommend staying here; treat yourself and recharge your batteries!

I'm currently staying here on a monthly basis. The room is big with plenty of storage and wardrobe space with a desk so I can WFH and a large en-suite. If comes with a big TV, undercounter fridge, kettle with cups etc and all bedding and towels. There's a communal kitchen and large washers and dryers which can be used by all and regularly cleaned. There's also a large garden round the back which is really nice to sit in and off road parking at the front. The owners are really welcoming and friendly and available to help if you need them. I really can't recommend it enough and will be staying here for the foreseeable future.

Myself, my husband and 1 year old stayed for 2 nights via a groupon deal. Both Dave and Michael were fantastic hosts. They were helpful, warm and inviting.

It felt like a big lovely warm house rather than a hotel. This was fine for us.

We enjoyed breakfast; although we have small stomachs so we were content with the size of our breakfast. Dinner was absolutely amazing! Definitely really good cooking! We enjoyed everything we ordered! Dining room was an ok size but would feel cramped if all guest ate at the same time. Our 1 year old was a little noisy but the hosts were quite understanding!

Our room was a standard double room. Just enough room for a travel cot. Bedroom was clean and tidy although carpet could do with a revamp, as there were a few stains. Tea and fridge facilities were helpful and two bottles of water too. They came in handy! Our bedroom was warm and cozy. Our double bed was a little smaller than expected but EXTREMELY comfortable! Shower was fine just a little slow and hard to get your head around at first. Maybe a minor resealing in shower would give it a perfect clean finishing (not the case in most hotels anyway, unless 5 star).

Two main things I would suggest for improvement:

1) having a separate reception for checking in (kitchen was a little weird to check into).

2) have a small lounge for relaxing in

Overall, lovely experience for our small family getaway. Definitely 3 1/2 stars or 4! Thanks Michael and Dave! Keep up the hard work!

Thank you so much for your kind review and comments on the hotel and I am so glad you had a really enjoyable time with us. I know our breakfast is really huge and with so many options available, some of our guests like yourselves are unable to eat so much food that we offer. However, we are pleased that our 4 star restaurant provided such good quality and tasty meals. Our dining room has three sittings per evening each of 20 guests so timing your table reservation is important. If you had advised us beforehand that your needed a family room and not the double room that you booked and reserved, you would have been a lot more comfortable and not felt so cramped. We really had NO idea at all that you intended to bring your own cot for your child until you had arrived and set it it up in the room without saying anything to a staff member. What a shame as family rooms are considerably larger. By the way our double bedded rooms have normal full size double beds. I know we had to show you how the shower worked but many guests need this guidance so we are happy to do that. As a HOUSE hotel, we are always a little short of space and having a separate Check in area and lounge is just not possible due to the need to utilise space for guest comfort rather than anything else. So pleased you had a good time and look forward to seeing you again soon. Kind regards Michael

Only spent one night here, as a present from our daughters, but we were very impressed with every aspect. The room was spotless, as was the bathroom, and there was a hairdryer and iron for our use. Coffee and tea facilities were a welcome addition. Our evening meal was great and Michael, the owner, was very friendly with nothing too much trouble. There was a very good selection for breakfast and everything was very fresh and well cooked. We were under no pressure to vacate the room by a certain time either, which was refreshing.
We would both thoroughly recommend this hotel without reservation.

My partner and I stayed for a couple of nights, the hotel is warm and welcoming. Dinner was an amazing unrushed experience, the lamb is a dish you have to try, as is the steak,
The portions are satisfying and you will not be left hungry, breakfast was equally pleasent, we had omelette on both mornings and they where light and fluffy.
The room was tastefully decorated, clean and the bed was very comfortable. As was the ensuite.
Overall we very much enjoyed our stay and would welcome a return visit.

As a regular traveller and reviewer on Trip Advisor - both at home and abroad - and used to staying in varied accommodations - its been a bit of a poser as to how to approach this particular review, as I never like to leave negative reviews where possible - Plus I have had many years in the Hospitality trade as part of my working background - and do have a feel for this area of the Hospitality Industry - so this is an honest review about my experience at the Elizabeth (and Victoria) in Bracknell.

I have stayed many times in many places through Groupon deals and accept you get what you pay for, but also believe that you should get vaguely what you are promised in the description of your accommodation.

According to the available information - the Groupon cost was just over half of the actual cost of staying/eating here for 1night for 2 with breakfast - and one cannot help but feel that one would have felt vastly overcharged at somewhere around he £180.00 mark for this particular experience.

But , let me start by saying that the people who own/run it are really incredibly nice - but also - possibly a tad delusional, and here is why.

What its not
- It is not 4 star, its not Luxuriously Elegant, it does not blend English Heritage with Modern comforts and it is most certainly is not a Hotel - Modern, Boutique or other wise - and it is not serving award winning ( Awarded in 2016 - we checked before leaving) 4 star cuisine in The 'Conservatory Restaurant' which is in point of fact just a regular conservatory with some dining tables and chairs in it .The Photographs you see when looking up this property are largely misleading and do not give an honest depiction of the Propertie(s) - in particular some of the external rear shots.
You will also notice a lack of external frontage shots.

All descriptions above are applied to Elizabeth House in its Groupon Description.

What it is - is an adequate 3 star - just about - Bed and Breakfast on the outskirts of Bracknell - housed in three detached houses - and giving the appearance of an old peoples home when you pull up outside.

Although it calls itself Elizabeth House on Groupon and Tripadvisor - the signage outside names it as ' Elizabeth and and Victoria House - 4 star licensed Accommodation.

A little confusing.

There is no Reception, you just wander in down the Hall where you arrive at the Kitchen - which is where pretty much everything seems to take place, from checking in to arranging for more pillows (as there were only 2 pillows in our double room) which you will get - but minus the Pillowcases to go with them! (more of which later)

Here you will also get your 1st glimpse of the 'Conservatory' Restaurant. Just an average conservatory of regular size, with - as previously mentioned - tables and chairs in it.
There was a momentary confusion as to whether we were booked in - but this was quickly resolved and we were given the key to our room and asked what time we should like to eat. We picked a time that suited us and again a momentary confusion ensued as it appeared times had to be staggered to allow the kitchen to cope.

We were then asked to choose our starters and our mains !!

Now call me picky - but to me a 4star establishment at least allows you to get to the table before requiring you to select your menu choices, however having concluded that this was unlike anywhere we have ever stayed before- we did as we were bid and then went to our room.

The room was unlike any of the photos we had seen and was on the verge of being cramped, it was clean - as was the Linen (and as mentioned previously - only 1 pillow per person )- but dated.

However there were 2 largish holes in the floor (under the carpet - I must add) 1 to the side of the bed and 1 at the end of the bed- and not just a bouncy floorboard - an actual dip in the carpet!! The Bathroom door jammed, the shower door jammed- and - the door Key to the room was nigh in impossible to remove form the lock.

For me the bed was comfy enough - though my companion found it less so.
It was incredibly warm in the room - so we had to sleep with the window open - which as we were on the ground floor and close to the busy-ish main road - though to the side of the house was a) a little noisy and b) made you feel a little vulnerable.

Prior to Dinner we sat in the garden (pleasant - but nothing special - just a suburban back garden) with a few of the other guests, mostly all looking as bemused as we by then felt - and had a drink - and while it may be a fully licensed establishment - there is no actual Bar - and the drinks again were adequate, but alas nothing special and the service - well in fact the whole set up - had hints of Fawlty Towers about it. Whimsical is the best way to describe it I think.

I wish I could rave about our evening meals - they were ok,
Starters were average - though no Butter provided with my bread and when I asked for some I was given 1 solitary pat of butter - and in my friends case - it seemed undercooked
- Mains not a great selection of veg (2 and a small portion of new potatoes) and at least 1 item was tinned or frozen, despite protests that everything is fresh - so, portions were miniscule in the veg and potato department, and everything looked pre cooked , put on a plate and microwaved - but as the 'Kitchen seemed to be a standard domestic set up - and in no way a professional 4 Star Kitchen - it is not surprising. We did not stay for desert.

As there is no Lounge/Bar area provided we went for a walk as did not wish to sit in the nice enough but chilly garden or remain in the conservatory or our room.

Breakfast had to be by far the best bit of the whole experience, it was nicely cooked with possibly the best Poached Eggs I have ever eaten, and we were offered extra toast.

At the end of the day this is not meant to be an unkind review, but it is my honest experience of this particular establishment at the time I visited.

As mentioned the staff etc are very very nice and this is not meant as a hatchet job as they obviously want to provide a nice experience, but it does need some major overhauling of either its advertising or its facilities - or both

Sorry Elizabeth (& Victoria) House - but this was how I found you on the day - I hope my experience is not that shared by others, but having read some previous reviews - sad to say - I think I am not alone..
'
NB It is worth noting that some reviews on here are for ' Elizabeth House Hotel' in Southampton - and are actually nothing to do with this accommodation - as seen by their mentions of being close to the Ferry etc - so do read all reviews with caution to make sure you are reading about the correct establishment.
