The Saxon Crown is a refurbished 1960s landmark building in the centre of Corby town, ideally located for those doing business in the town and surrounding area or visiting the nearby countryside, Rockingham Castle or Rockingham Speedway. Our rooms are luxuriously fitted and contain sparkling bathrooms with relaxing rainfall showers. We offer a complimentary welcome tray in each room, comprising tea, coffee and biscuits, along with a bottle of sparkling and still mineral water. Each room is fitted with an HD LED smart TC and USB plug sockets to keep up with current demands for technology. As with all Wetherspoon pubs/hotels, we offer free Wi-Fi throughout the building, including every bedroom. The name refers to the history of the area: the village of Corby derives its name from Kori, the leader of Danish invaders who settled in a clearing in Rockingham Forest.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Stayed in the hotel on a number of occasions also had a different room each stay. Nice clean hotel rooms with a good standard of finish. The bar area is big with ample setting, polite staff as always, and reasonable prices for what you get. Good breakfast in the morning, Thank you

We just came in for lunch. The tables were clean, the service was great and the food was amazing. There was also a nice atmosphere. We had fish and chips and it was delicious. Would definitely come back next time we’re in Corby and try out the hotel.

Please don’t be put off by the outer appearance. Considering we have stayed in a different hotel every day for 10 days on the bounce, this one was immaculate. The rooms were very tastefully decorated, with a local theme that actually made me sit back and look into the areas history and honestly finished to a high standard at that. They had all appliances you’d expect, hairdryer, soaps and shampoos, kettle and iron+board along with complimentary water, tea, coffee and biscuits. The shower was a great pressure and had a hand rail which is a must for me. The staff were among the friendliest and most helpful I’ve come across all fortnight. Thank you

Food was lovely there too and so cheap. Much better pricing than London. Hotel staff was lovely and room was clean and homely. Will deffo use this hotel again on our next visit.

My daughter and I were in Corby for a swimming competition and stayed over for the night. There are no other chain hotels locally so we opted for a Wetherspoons hotel. I was very dubious about this and expected a run down 3 star standard however I was pleasantly surprised. When we arrived the hotel reception was small but clean and staff friendly, check in was really quick Our room was a family room and it was very spacious. The bedding was clean, trendy and the bed was very comfortable. There was tea, coffee and biscuits in the room which was a bonus for my daughter!! The bathroom was very modern, shower was large and very powerful and to be honest put some higher end hotels to shame. The carpet was average. We are at the pub too and it wasn’t bad. I would not hesitate staying here again.

Very busy and very noisy inside. Typical Wetherspoon pub. It's a great meeting place with friends and decent priced beer and spirits. Used to come and have breakfast a few times in early morning visits, which was always excellent value for money. Staff efficient, although sometimes looked harassed as so busy.

Good swift service. Clean bar areas. Food decent and served well. Outside areas clean. Room large and good value. Its a very local establishment though, and the gathering of locals out front having their faaaaagggggs isnt pleasant. Makes the Samuel Lloyd, also in Corby, look very unprofessional.

First time staying at a Wetherspoons hotel, it will not be the last, a lovely room with plenty of tea/coffee/water etc. the evening meal at the hotel was tasty and great value for money. The breakfast muffin was very tasty too. Service was great and the restaurant was very clean. We were given advice on where to park, which was close by. We never had any noise during the night and the bed was most comfortable. Well done Corby
