Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Big family room and very clean, friendly staff. Only a few things to note, the travel cot mattress is hard and covered with a blanket which isn’t ideal for babies so maybe wise to bring own mattress. Also the breakfast place is 15 min but can deliver to hotel although may be charged if under £12. Otherwise good value for money.

I booked in at ParkView Hotel then read the reviews. If i had read them first then I Wouldn't of booked! I'm so glad I did. I was greeted by a lady who let me upgrade and pay the difference when I arrived.
The hotel needs some tlc but is home from home. Nothing special but clean and the bed comfortable. There was a tv and tea making facilities in the room. ĺ The breakfast was the usual full English served from 7-8.30. I had a good sound nights sleep. I was overlooking the rear which was quiet. The carpark is floodlit with car.

As a late arrival, Mrs Gravel-Voice was very helpful on the phone for helping to locate my room key, which was kindly situated outside under a traffic cone. I was then delighted to find out, that even though my room number eluded Mrs Gravel-Voice, it would open a number or rooms in the establishment. After being advised to try any door and accidentally disturbing a fellow resident I found my room. In a desperate bid to ease my security concerns and at the risk to my health and safety, I improvised an moved the spare bed in my room in front of the door to prevent any unexpected visits to happen to myself.
However, my biggest disappointment was that no towel was provided - only finding this out after my shower!
My list of experiences could go on, but needless to say I won't be coming back - PS St Helens is Dumpsville

The whole building was clean and had a nice aroma. The room was clean, had a comfortable bed, an extra chair which was usefull and a kettle plus tea/coffee making essentials. The wifi did not extend to my room on the top floor. I don't think the hotel should advertise free wifi unless it is available to EVERY guest. The car park was small for a large hotel and I was concerned that I would not find a free space when I needed it, however, I happened to get lucky. The guest in the neighbouring room did not seem to know how to close his fire door quietly, but this is not the fault of the hotel, merely an incredibly inconsiderate person.

I thought it was ok, beds comfy room tidy and clean came to change our bedding. You don’t see anyone you have to call when you arrive to get your key out a box which isn’t a problem. Only thing is I couldn’t find anywhere you have breakfast which again didn’t bother us we just went somewhere else. I would stay again if needed.

Horrible place, avoid at all costs! We had a run down, badly in need of modernisation room. The shower hadn't any hot water, we heard a clanging in the bathroom, it was the riser rail falling off the wall (no one even in the bathroom at the time). A towel short, not enough loo roll. We had 2 nights booked but only stayed 1 and checked in to Premier Inn instead. My advice.... go somewhere else. Bed frame knackered, bathroom door latch taped up.

Travelled back from Perth Scotland and stopped at this hotel to break journey up before heading onto Wales ,what can I say ?
Knew it was cheap but my goodness it's not a hotel it's as others have said it's a hostel. On the way to our room we passed what I think was the owners living quarters maybe .Thank god there wasn't breakfast as we saw bedding being dried hanging from the back of the chairs around the dining tables.
The room itself on entry knock is for 6 ,the bedding looked dirty ,they were actual grey grubby quilt covers which I wouldn't have even been happy to show Although expect visitors to sleep in . The sofa which was a double had god knows how much much in the crease and the shower base was black with mould as was the tiles.
We tried phoning around for vaccancys but failed ,neither if us slept as want sure how clean the bedding actual was .yes it was cheap but so was sky lodge in Scotland but sky lodge was spotless. This place is somewhere people shouldn't stay if they want clean accomodation it's disgraceful ,

My friend, son, and I stayed here at the beginning of the month. When you arrive, you call a number, and a friendly lady helps us access the property via the key safe. We easily found our room. It was clean and tidy, I couldn't find the towels, but the nice lady advised us on where we go to get some. The room was basic, but it was just what we needed. I had a good night's sleep and loved the tea and coffee facilities to make a drink. I would definitely stay here again. No breakfast, but that's OK as there are plenty of food places nearby

Please do not stay here. Its awful. Smelly, damp, dark, dirty. In need of renovation big time!
When you arrive, there is no reception or foyer. Nobody there to greet you. You open the front door to a tiny dark hallway and you have to ring a bell but nobody comes. Stood waiting for 10 minutes. Tried calling owner, no answer. Had to find alternative accommodation in cold and rain with 3 kids at the end of a long day out. Not impressed. Thank goodness for Premier Inn around the corner. Wish I had read more into the reviews about this place 1st before booking it.

Really non existent place. Booked the hotel online . Got there and couldn’t get in for 3 hours because the door was locked and the number they popped out for customers to call was unreachable. I was really pained cos I had to start looking for another hotel to sleep in that night.

"Don’t stay unless you want a very basic, cold, insecure experience. It’s akin to a hostel, not a hotel by any stretch of the imagination."
