We were welcomed very warmly and efficiently and this created the atmosphere for our whole stay. Wifi poor so maybe plan where you're going before you go to the site, or use wifi when out for the day. Site ideally placed for driving through the New Forest and seeing the horses/donkeys. Lack of lighting on route to toilets last thing at night but took a torch so not a huge issue. The facilities were absolutely spotless and the well-stocked shop and post office very convenient. Covid safety was carefully adhered to. The site wardens were excellent, lovely helpful people. Big negative point. The pitches beside the road get very noisy first thing in the morning with what appears to be "commuter" traffic from 6.30 - 9 am when it then quietens down. Cars drive very fast along the road and tractors trundle noisily along. Had we know the "Willows" area before we were put on the hard standing by the road we would have gone there. But you live and learn and would definitely go again.…
We were welcomed very warmly and efficiently and this created the atmosphere for our whole stay. Our extended family chose to be on spacious, well-maintained grassed pitches next to each other. It was refreshing to be amongst tents, motorhomes, camper vans and caravans and all of our neighbours were respectful but very friendly. The weather was fantastic and it was a joy to see everyone sitting outside in the evenings and not a TV is sight! The landscaping and planting were very attractive and the wooded area, children's play area, (fenced) stream, and pond and surrounding lawns were appreciated by the 3 generations of our family. The facilities were absolutely spotless and the well-stocked shop and post office very convenient. Covid safety was carefully adhered to . The site wardens were excellent and lovely people. We have camped on hundreds of sites all over the world and this is one of the best.…
Great pitch - large and not right on the doorstep of the neighbouring tents (as have experienced in other sites - caravan club sites included). Online check in was easy. Toilets well maintained - everyone on site seemed to be able to socially distance properly and wait to be able to clean teeth in the one sink. Good hot showers with good water pressure and a stall and hooks to hang up clothes so don't get wet. Above all clean (which was really important to me in googling sites in the first instance). The cafe on site wasn't open, but looked clean and inviting when viewed whilst getting a coffee to takeaway. Site quiet by 10pm which was great for us as not woken by others wanting to chat into the early hours of the morning or play music etc. Wifi poor so maybe plan where you're going before you go to the site, or use wifi in a cafe/restaurant when out for the day. Site ideally placed for driving through the New Forest and seeing the horses/donkeys. Lovely 4 day break. Only negative; lack of lighting on route to toilets last thing at night, but mostly everyone these days has a light on their phone or if not, will take a torch with them, so not a huge issue.…
Having been keen caravaners for several years and members of various camping organisations we took a gamble to try a privately owned site not affiliated with any camping clubs. The site on the whole was pleasant, clean and welcoming, however the experience was somewhat ruined by the Covid staycation novice campers, who obviously have little or no consideration for other visitors and made the experience more exhausting and tiring than necessary. The site wardens work extremely hard and they can always be seen tending to the facilities and pottering about, but no amount of warden attention can repair the divide between the 'resident' campers and the holidayers who are plotted up in a rather ramshackle field with no real regard to making their stay any easier. Our pitch was on a busy route to the only toilet and shower block, laundry, chemical toilet point and wash up. This wouldnt be an issue had the other campers been respectful and abided by the noise rules, but when large groups of drunk campers with gaggles of roudy kids hike to the toilet block on mass at 2300 it is antisocial and impossible to ignore. Also the noisy debates in the wash up at 0630 by folk who clearly would rather be abroad on their annual vacation. The site is showing signs of wear and tear, and simple things like, fixing the solar lights to illuminate the path back to the camp field would reduce the amount of screaming and shouting in the late hours, when yet another tired, bleary eyed or intoxicated person falls up or down the stairs. Being opposite the toilet block also meant that the warden driving his fuel gussling 4x4 in all hours to check the faciliites was a disturbance as it was obvious he had no consideration that leaving his engine running for long periods of time might be antisocial. Along with a few guests who also didn't want to make the journey from the field in the rain meant that there were abandoned cars around our pitch while people used the facilities. I totally appreciate that campsites are quite a hive of activity but we are more used to respectful neighbours who wouldn't dream of inflating a number of air beds in the laundry daily causing prolonged periods of noise. Thank you for having us for 10 days, but in future I think we'll stick with sites that have a better grip of their patrons and are full of campers that actually want to camp and aren't there as the pandemic has prevented their 7 night bargain bucket break to Benidorm! …
Not camped since I was at school, 20 odd years ago. Found this camp site and arrived Friday 31st July for 3 nights not knowing what to expect. All I can say is what a fabulous campsite, very friendly and helpful staff, great clean toilet and shower facilities, good wash up facilities and laundry facilities. The whole site is clean and tidy. Enjoyed our weekend so much that we were back again for 2 nights on 7 August. We will definitely be back
