Gambledown Farm, a 270-acre mixed farm dating back to 1875 lies just 5 miles from the New Forest National Park and the county of Wiltshire. The farm is home to shorthorn beef cattle that calve each April, and in the spring there are lambs to bottle feed. Breathtaking views over the farm, the Hampshire Downs to the east, and the Wiltshire plains to the west can be taken in from the prime position of our four glamping tents, at the top of the field. At the end of a mile-long private road you find an oasis of calm, a safe haven for children who can explore the fields, woodland and a gorgeous living willow tunnel. Kids especially love the play area within a large covered space, with its kids’ tractor ride, giant chalk board, ping pong & swing ball. There is a football / rugby field too. We have two newly converted barn luxury holiday lets which sleep 6 and 8 and host regular supper clubs using our homegrown produce.

Gambledown Farm is a fabulous venue for hosting a yoga retreat!
It’s a stunning location set in the rolling Hampshire countryside and the accommodation is not only beautifully appointed and supremely comfortable, but also very versatile, as several rooms can be set up as twins, doubles or triples and each room has its own bathroom. There was plenty of space for the whole group to dine and socialise together in the delightful ambiance of the Cart Shed.
My guests appreciated the luxurious beds, the immaculate spacious kitchens, the cosy underfloor heating and the sociable seating areas. We all loved helping to feed the lambs in the barn. Another highlight was being able to look out across the countryside through the sliding glass doors of the yoga barn during our practice.
As the host, I was able to focus on my yoga offerings knowing my students were happy. There was also plenty of space to set up my chocolate making workshop and lots of great walks to choose from.
I was grateful to Tamara for all her support from my initial enquiries and booking, taking time to show me around on a pre retreat visit to ensuring everything was set up for our arrival exactly as we planned. She was also on hand during our stay to answer any queries I had.
Thank you Tamara, to you and all your brilliant team 🙏 I can’t wait to return. See you in October for our Autumn Yoga Retreat!

Spent two nights in Skylark safari tent at the end of October. As a reluctant camper, I booked Gambledown to test the water and I cannot speak highly enough of their setup. My two boys (8 and 4) had an absolute blast, as did the parents!

The tents themselves are spacious and provide the essentials needed for your stay. We hired a chicken who eventually laid an egg after my boys checked dozens of times! We were based right next to the main chicken coup that you can access freely and the sheep are very friendly too, regularly coming up to the fence (to the delight of my 4 year old).

The main barn hosts the honesty shop where you can pick up extra wood, charcoal, drinks etc. this is also where the pizzas are cooked and there is a selection of ride on toys, 2x table tennis tables and a basketball net which my kids loved. Definitely recommend the pizzas and at £13 each they are fairly priced and tasty.

The staff are lovely. We were greeted by Amber who gave my 8 year old a ride in the golf cart and then showed us to the wheelbarrows to unload. All of the staff on site are friendly and helpful with the feeling that nothing is too much trouble.

I can't fault the place at all. Everyone on site seemed happy and relaxed so there is a nice vibe around the whole estate as a result. We will definitely return in the future and thank you for making our weekend so comfortable.

We had a brilliant stay at Gambledown with our farm obsessed toddler. We have been glamping a couple of times but decided to stay in the cart shed, which was perfect for us and had a few more luxuries. I’m mentioning a few things here that I didn’t know as much about from the other reviews I had read.

The barn has been brilliantly converted and has lots of space, it’s spotlessly clean and the kitchen has washing up liquid and tablets for the dishwasher.

There is a good sized fridge /freezer, at the beginning of our stay and we got an online shopping delivery which found the Cart Shed with no issue. There are also some handy things like a step for toddlers to reach the sink and a clothes airer.

The back garden is lovely and has a nice table and grass that my toddler could play on. We had some great weather so were able to make the most of it. While it’s a busy farm it always felt nice and private while being friendly. Rachel and Jo were both very helpful.

There is a covered barn right outside the Cart Shed with some pedal tractors, a ping pong table and a basketball hoop. The honesty shop is there also where there are some basics like pasta and sauce jars, as well as ice cream and burgers.

The play park up in the glamping field was also really nice with a slide, some swings and a climbing frame that we’ve not come across on a farm stay before.

The location was great for the new forest and peppa pig world.

We loved our stay and I can’t recommend Gambledown more highly. Hoping to go back again soon!

We have just returned from a fantastic mid week break staying in the Cart Shed.

What can we say other then what an amazing holiday. We were warmly greeted on arrival by the lovely Rachel who did a great job showing us everything and made us and our dog feel so welcome. The Honesty Shop is such a great idea and we purchased a few items whist there.

We had the absolute pleasure of meeting Michael and his gorgeous GSD Ilva, Michael even took us for a walk on some of the footpaths that we hadn’t yet discovered. The walks from the door are fantastic and a map is provided for you in the barn. We really enjoyed exploring the countryside and Michael was so thoughtful in helping us.

The Cart Shed itself was immaculate, with a fully enclosed front garden where we were able to let our dog stroll about without any worries. Check out was a breeze dealt with by the lovely Jo.

We have recommended Gambledown Farm to many family and friends already and would love to return again in the near future.

We stayed in one of the Safari Lodges over the October half term and were blessed with dry weather. The Lodges themselves are very well provisioned and in a beautiful setting.

The wood burner kept us warm and when zipped up, the heavy canvas is surprisingly weather/wind resistant.

The only small challenges were the smoke alarm when cooking on the hob and the lack of lighting when it gets dark at 5pm! Although the farm provide two chargeable lamps we bought additional battery powered lamps to supplement our head torches. That and the candles made it quite atmospheric.

The kids struggled with no electricity which we secretly found highly entertaining! A great reset and opportunity for a digital detox. We also thoroughly enjoyed the pizzas.

I held my third yoga retreat at Gambledown Farm in June and it has been consistently great. The accommodation is beautiful and clean and the farm lovely. On the summer retreats we’ve enjoyed outdoor yoga in the serene surroundings and in winter made use of the wood burners and felt warm and cosy. Tamara and her team are friendly and helpful and the little details make it all the more special, biscuits and fresh flowers on arrival and home-cooked pizza in the barn.

As a specialist Wedding Coordinator having delivered two weddings at Gambledown Farm, I would love to say what a fab venue!
Tamara is exceptionally helpful in both the lead up to the event, and on the day itself. The grounds and facilities have always been immaculate and the flexibility offered to help couples achieve their vision is second to none.
The accommodation is beautiful and so conveniently located for the wedding party morning preparations, the perfect spot!
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Gambledown Farm to anyone looking to host a private wedding or event and look forward to working with the team for more events in the future

We visited with our 2yo and 4yo and were at home from the second we arrived.
The glamping site and safari tent were so clean and had everything we needed. The bedding was cosy with extra blankets for when the temperature dipped in the evening along with a fire pit outside and log burner inside.
We had all the crockery we needed including a cafetière for fresh coffee in the morning.
The shower was amazing!
The little play area at the far end of the site was a nice touch to the entertain the little ones.
Picking fresh eggs from the chicken coop was a treat as well as having our own chicken in a pen outside of our tent to greet each morning.
The girls loved feeding the lambs in the evening and saying night night to the cows.
We loved stocking up on fresh food from the honesty shop.
Who needs electricity and Wi-Fi. It was so nice to be off grid for a few days.
Sitting on the decking overlooking the farm fields was so peaceful and just the break we needed. We can’t wait to rebook.
A big thank you to the Gambledown Farm team for being so fantastic during our stay.

We booked a 2 night stay in The Hay Barn at Gambledown Farm for 2 families as we were visiting the area for a family wedding in Romsey and the reviews we saw online were very positive.
Communications were excellent throughout the whole process from the initial booking to our departure.
A very tastefully converted barn in a truly rural setting with the all the home comforts we needed for our stay complete with small Christmas tree in the lounge and some complimentary mince pies which were delish ! Good central heating system, cosy and warm and not forgetting the nice bathrooms.
We loved the short horn cows staying in the barn opposite and they were so well behaved. They didn took like they had bathrooms in their barn !

Would highly recommend The Hay Barn for a family getaway.
