My partner found this Gambledown Safari tent and the biggest highlight was the farm on site as we had a 2 year old who loves animals. Cows, sheep’s, chickens, horses and pigs are just a few steps away from you. Completely secure, other then the odd chicken which we collected fresh eggs from everyday! We had Cockoo Safari Tent and we felt very secluded. The tent was immaculate, bedding was comfortable and clean and the shower/toilet facilities were spotless. Had most cooking utensils you would need but our favourite type of cooking was on the Webber BBQ which is also very clean and easy to use. Everyone on site are so welcoming and you can tell they enjoy every minute of working on the farm. Recommendations: - a few more lights as it does get very dark but appreciate it may disturb views of stars - extra seating indoors and out. Thank you for an amazing stay!…
We really enjoyed our family stay here in woodpecker safari tent. The tent is clean and well equipped and in a lovely quiet location. The working farm with the pigs, sheep, cows, chickens and horses was a dream for our 2 year old little boy. The tent is in a secure field with a small play area so perfect for him to run around. The lovely lizzie made our stay perfect, she was friendly helpful and made fabulous pizzas for us on the tuesday evening, nothing was too much trouble. Getting use to being off grid didnt take us long but maybe a few extra lamps would make things a little easier. The only changes I would make would be a double matters and duvet instead of 2 singles, especially on a double bed frame. It made sleeping awkward. I'm not quite sure why they were singles on a double bed?! The outside bbq and fire pit were lovely and we enjoyed the crystal clear dark skies star gazing. Peppa pig world was only a 15 min drive away and we visited stonehenge whilst there too. It's a lovely part of the world and gambledown farm was a great little find. Thanks for having us.…
This is the perfect place for a retreat with the family. Lots of places to go on day trips nearby. The farm is well equipped and even offers food hampers which are delicious, perfect for a stress-free camping experience with little ones!
Stayed her with my teenage daughters for a three night break as a base for visiting the surround area. It was our first glamping experience and we loved it. The safari tent was spacious and well designed, and had all we needed, with extras available from the Gambledown honesty shop. Pizzas were also great.
We stayed in The Cart Shed for a week, which was an absolute treat! Very spacious and clean. It is a stunningly beautiful converted barn in the middle of a farm. Chickens visit you every morning, so beware if you have a dog. Lovely walks in the area. Close to Romsey and Salisbury. The New Forest is on your doorstep as well. I highly recommend a stay.
