Gambledown Farm, a 270-acre mixed farm dating back to 1875 lies just 5 miles from the New Forest National Park and the county of Wiltshire. The farm is home to shorthorn beef cattle that calve each April, and in the spring there are lambs to bottle feed. Breathtaking views over the farm, the Hampshire Downs to the east, and the Wiltshire plains to the west can be taken in from the prime position of our four glamping tents, at the top of the field. At the end of a mile-long private road you find an oasis of calm, a safe haven for children who can explore the fields, woodland and a gorgeous living willow tunnel. Kids especially love the play area within a large covered space, with its kids’ tractor ride, giant chalk board, ping pong & swing ball. There is a football / rugby field too. We have two newly converted barn luxury holiday lets which sleep 6 and 8 and host regular supper clubs using our homegrown produce.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

I held my third yoga retreat at Gambledown Farm in June and it has been consistently great. The accommodation is beautiful and clean and the farm lovely. On the summer retreats we’ve enjoyed outdoor yoga in the serene surroundings and in winter made use of the wood burners and felt warm and cosy. Tamara and her team are friendly and helpful and the little details make it all the more special, biscuits and fresh flowers on arrival and home-cooked pizza in the barn.

Superb accommodation in the most beautiful setting. All 3 barns are fully equipped, comfortable and cosy with a luxury feel. Every little detail has been well thought out and each time I have stayed I have wanted to stay longer. Everyone is super helpful and friendly and so welcoming. The array of walks from the farm are wonderful for exploring the stunning countryside...what's not to love!

This place is absolutely FABULOUS? On arrival, there was a jar of cookies, sourdough bread, plus prosecco - what a lovely welcome! You walk in and there is so much space and light - so if you're in a big group, it's ideal. There were 5 of us and we sometimes lost each other ! The bedrooms were top notch. Big, airy with John Lewis duvets and pillows - pure quality. And 3 bathrooms! All big, warm and had everything that you need. The kitchen was a delight and fully equipped - and a massive fridge (for all our prosecco). The location is brilliant too - but you definitely need wheels - and places of interest are nearby. We went to the Noisy Lobster in Christchurch - which is definitely worth visiting if you want a delicious lunch! And if you're into walking - take your walking boots - you're actually on a farm so lots of animals to see - and they have lambing sheds in the spring - so lovely for kids. My best bit, that will stay with me, was the pitter patter of the rain under the roof beams in the top bedroom - heaven! A SMASHING place - we will definitely be back! Thank you Tam and Richard - you made our weekend

We stayed in the Staddlestone Bran. A wonderfully private and comfortable stay in the beautiful Hampshire countryside. The bed was awesomely comfortable - and huge! Proper linen which made for such a lovely night's sleep. We only used the toaster and kettle as we were visiting relatives nearby, but the portable hob and barbecue would very easily make great meals especially with the food hampers on offer. Was lovely to wake up with calves in the nearby field, sheep nearby and doves. Do pack your torch!

What a fabulous stay we had at Gambledown Farm this weekend. Rachel was super friendly and full of useful information prior to and right up until meeting her in person during check in. She is a real asset to Gambledown! They have thought of everything here, the safari tents are well equipped, clean and spacious. We were a group of 4 adults and 2 children and there was plenty of room for us all. Prior to arriving I was slightly concerned about the size of the "cupboard" bed as it was hard to gauge from the website. But it contains 2 full size single mattresses so is plenty big enough for 2 adults as it the tent for a group of 6. The child size wheelbarrows were an exciting surprise for my little one as were the children's climbing frames and swings. We added a chicken and coop to our booking which was super exciting for the children. They loved taking care of Jenny the Hen during our stay and going to collect the eggs she laid us. The honestly shop is well stocked and the giant cool box with frozen hot water bottles worked better than I could have imagined and kept things cool for our 2 night stay. I note comments in previous reviews about the check out procedures but in my opinion I didn't find them honorous at all, it was basically an ask to tidy after ourselves and put it back as we found it (minus the full clean) which I would expect from any self catering accomodation! Given the size of our party we found this to be great value for money and we hope to bring our wider family back soon.

our recent stay was just fantastic, such a nice space to go and relax and escape the hustle and bustle of life. safari tents are great and being next to the chickens and baby lambs was just amazing! woke up and went to collect some fresh eggs from the chickens for breakfast :) would definitely recommend for a peaceful break away - staff are all lovely, welcoming and friendly and the honesty shop has everything you may need at short notice! the woodfire outside the tent was perfect for toasting marshmallows into the evening and the bbq provided was great for evening meal with meat from the farm - we will definitely be returning x

Myself and another Teacher held a 3 night Yoga retreat at Gambledown farm last weekend and we were blown away as well as our guests by the venue and support before hand. It was just perfect. It's rare to find a venue with such a large Yoga space so that was a big plus and the barns are just beautiful and held the 13 of us very comfortably. We would definitely return . Thank you Tamara and Team!
