We couldn't have asked for more at this hotel - the reception was friendly and attentive, being early for check-in we were provided breakfast by the pool, our room overlooked the sea and was comfortable, our meals were excellent, service was efficient, the ocean was clear and blue, the beach socially distanced and private, all COVID rules regarding mask wearing and room sanitization was respected. Trips and a car rental were handled efficiently and all reception staff were well informed regarding tours and restaurants. We will be back and thank the owner Antonella and the staff for making us feel at home.

My boyfriend and I stayed at this property for 9 days in July 2020. Upon arrival, we were given an upgrade to a much bigger room with a sea view which was a pleasant surprise. The service throughout the entire stay was oustanding, from the staff at the reception, all the waiters in the restaurant and even 2 lifeguards at the beach. The sea and mountain views from the breakfast terrace are simply breathtaking. The beach is very clean and well maintained and the sunbeds were kept at a safe distance between each other. The staff took all the necessary precautions for COVID. Also, highly recommend trying the Blu restaurant at least for one evening as the service and food is excellent. The hotel is also very well located and there is a small town with a number of lovely restaurants within walking distance. So even if you don't have a car, there are plenty of places to go to. Upon departure, we were also given a small gift which was a really nice gesture from the reception staff. I will definitely recommend this hotel to anyone travelling in Golfo Aranci whether you are a couple or family with kids.

Dear L740HTkatek, Sunny Greetings from Sardinia! Thank you for your kind words, that’s indeed how we want our guests to feel about our Hotel. We are delighted to read that you felt pampered from the very beginning of your holiday. We are glad that you enjoyed all the aspects of your stay – your room, your dining experience, our service and also the many nice restaurants that Golfo Aranci has to offer at walking distance from us. I was personally proud that you highlighted you felt safe even in a year of such worries regarding the covid-19. Thank you for sharing this. I hope we will have the pleasure to welcome you again. Kind regards, Antonella Datome Member of the Family Owner

One of the larger hotels in the bay, and unfortunately that means not as ideal as it could be. The beach, pool and dining/lobby areas are high quality and smart, but the rooms are very tired and of a 3* standard, not 4* (our upgraded, double, compact sea room actually had two twin beds pushed together, etc… - and when we visited a friend’s suite, that also was underwhelming considering how much more it was). Staff friendly, but things weren’t as good as at the Villa Margherita where we’d stayed the week before (and Gabbiano is 10-20% more expensive), namely as the facilities at Gabbiano were the same size but shared by many more people. Wifi temperamental. The private hotel beach was nice, but limited food choices throughout the day. Restaurant food very good and available throughout the day. Clean and COVID safe. Late check out (2pm) available if asked. A lovely hotel, but a bit expensive for the quality of rooms.

Dear Mr Oliver, Thank you for taking the time to write this review, we are happy that you appreciated lots of things about our house and we hope you will come back to visit us soon. We are sorry if you did not like our rooms but we can inform you that it is our intention to renew the rooms of the same category you had as soon as possible, even starting next Winter. Last year, as you can imagine, we postponed all commitments for prudence. Do not hesitate to contact us to better clarify the circumstances that did not meet your expectations and, in the meantime, we look forward to your return. We stayed here during our first couple of nights in Sardinia and over all we were pretty disappointed with the place. The hotel itself looks pretty nice and clean.
The balcony we had was facing the ocean which was nice but if you had the AC on in the room you got the hot air blown into your face since the ventilation system is right on your balcony.
We also were disappointed that in a hotel like that they would change extra for beach umbrellas and beach chairs (50€ for the first row and 30€ for the second p.P per day). At all the other hotels we stayed at afterwards it was included without any extra fees.
The beach itself is really shallow and there is not much possibility to swim.
Overall we wouldn’t stay at this hotel anymore.

Dear Mrs Regina, We thank you for taking your time to share your experience with the Gabbiano Azzurro and we are really sorry because it was not positive. We assure you that every advice and every criticism generates in us the desire to improve and resolve the problem that caused dissatisfaction The payment of the beaches is the best solution we found to manage the occupation in an optimal way. The reservation of the umbrella can be done in advance. You can choose the preferred row and whoever arrives first has the possibility to choose. Even if the reserved umbrella remains unoccupied for several hours, everyone knows that it is has been paid for and that no one else can occupy it. Prior to this decision took place, we had clients fighting to get their favourite position or guests who got up at dawn to occupy the spot with a beach towel and finally only using then occupy it in the late morning. The water of our bay is shallow, and it is perfect for children and for those who like to let the water massage the legs. But if you follow the darker colour of the water, you can find a passage on how to reach the level of it enough to swim. There is a line made by some float balloons that define where you can walk and swim and where you can swim without touching the bottom with your feet. We are sure that there may be a new opportunity to welcome you and make you live an experience capable of fulfilling your wishes. Kindest regards from Golfo Aranci, Antonella Datome Member of Family Owner

It would be hard to beat the views from this hotel. Staff was extremely helpful, kind and courteous. Good breakfast and only wished they offered gluten-free breads, gluten-free cereals and maybe almond or nondairy yogurt and milks. The private beach was really perfect. I didn’t find either the bed or the pillows to be comfortable.

Booking.com lists the rooms as a property with “Entire unit wheelchair accessible.” As a paraplegic and wheelchair user I’m not sure how Booking.com or the hotel can make this claim as there is nothing in the bathroom that makes it accessible unless being able to roll into the bathroom qualifies as accessible. All other areas of the hotel are accessible and there is a beach wheelchair to help get you onto the beach and into the water. This feature alone gives it high rankings in my book.

Dear Guest, We are really happy that you had a good time in our house and we thank you for the time spent to share the positive experiences of your stay. Thanks also for your comments, which immediately led us to correct the information on the booking.com page as you suggested. Regarding the special requests for gluten-free food at breakfast, generally, we provide all the gòutine-free products (always available) on request, but following your advice, we amended the information we give upon check-in where, starting from now, guests are informed to ask in advance the products needed for breakfast. We would like to inform you that many news will be ready for those who want to choose us in 2022 and we are looking forward to welcoming you back! We stayed for 5 nights in June 22 . We had a double sea view compact room . It was very “compact” - no room for any toiletries in the bathroom which then clutters up the dressing table which had a massive lamp on - couldn’t move it anywhere . The furniture was dark wood and tired and outdated . The air con is an old system , so to have the room cool it meant the air con unit on the very small balcony is blasting out hot air making it impossible to relax outside . In the evening the sun is on the balcony and it was so small and claustrophobic you couldn’t get any shade or escape the air con heat blasting . The balcony also has no outside light so you can’t sit there later in the evening for a last drink or to read as it is too dark .
There are some rooms that appear to have been updated , which may be better but I wouldn’t book a compact room , it was too small for the price we paid . Pool area is lovely and the beach is lovely too , but paying for sun beds 50euro for 2 on the beach was unreasonable in early June . The beach bar along the beach only charges 30euro !!
The restaurant and all the public areas are good quality and the staff were all really pleasant and helpful . Overall we had a good time but regretted our room choice - doesn’t look that old and small on the photos .

We had a junior suite (large room) which had recently been refurbished. The room was faultless although for us the bed a little hard, the staff helped with extra bedding to ease this.
The view from the room was spectacular.
All of the team at the hotel were welcoming, helpful and appeared really focussed on ensuring everything was right for us.
Only thing to ensure you are aware of is the cost of sunbeds on the beach in high season, it is clearly communicated but would mount up over a week.

The location was perfect, right on the sea so make sure you book a sea view room, totally worth it. Breakfast is really good and you can eat it indoors or outdoors looking over the sea. Nice pool too.
What really makes this lovely hotel stand out is the receptionists (special thanks to Claudia and Federica). They really can't do enough for you, they recommended restaurants and excursions and book everything for you, including taxis.
The rooms are quite basic, but bathrooms are nice with rainfall showers and nice toiletries.
Very special hotel and we enjoyed staying here so much.

The best thing about this hotel is the view everything else leaves to be desired.

We requested a sea view room and was told our request was confirmed. Upon arrival we were told we didn’t have a sea view room but they had upgraded us to a superior village view room. I would be very interested to see the basic rooms as the ‘superior room’ was a 2 star at best.
I expressed my disappointment to reception and told them had I not been told we could have a sea view room I would have happily paid to upgrade. The manager than began to tell me the hotel was fully booked and I didn’t request a sea view room even though I had confirmation. Eventually she did say she would see what she can do and the next day we were offered the sea view room which was small but much improved to the room we were initially given.

The private beach the hotel offers is not worth the rate they charge for it. It’s the worst patch on beach on the strip. There is a key required to use the toilet and at one point I was told my 4 year old son couldn’t use it as it wasn’t ready.

The view at the pool is amazing but the facilities around it very impractical. The toilet is inside the reception area and so is the bar.

We had high expectations from the hotel from the pictures and reviews but overall felt really disappointed. I certainly wouldn’t recommend a stay there.

my wife and I stayed here for 9 days to relax from a hectic work life.

The hotel is right on the beach so you have the choice of the pool or the beach. You can change your towels every day. The sunbeds by the pool are really comfy as they have a great mattress and the beach sunbeds do not.
As others have said its €30 a day for 2 sunbeds on the beach which is expensive and we have never paid that price before when staying at other hotels.

The staff are very friendly and helpful, they will help you with with anything and everything you ask cannot fault any of the staff.
