We stayed as a family of 3 for a couple of nights as part of our tour through India and really loved this place. Margaret and Inder were lovely hosts and really make you feel like you are at home with friends. The setting is fantastic for relaxing, reading and enjoying rural life. Margaret runs the kitchen and prepares lovely...

Our 16 day journey in India included stays at Palaces, Haveli's, Modern 5 Stars and this gem in the middle of rural India. We stayed three nights on our way from Jodphur to Udaipur. This was a perfect place to let down, be at home, and appreciate the non-tourist aspect of India. Our driver was well taken care of: something...

We unfortunately stayed there only one night. Inder Singh, the owner, was a real charmer and his Fort a lovely place to stay. Really quiet with an authentic village experience. The website is far from the reality. Hope they will be able to update it with nicer pictures. We had one of the best dinner in our stay in Rajasthan...

Fort Dhamli - A different but very worthwhile experience in a very off-the-tourist path village in the Pali district (near Jodhpur). Fort Dhamli is a very small village of about 2000 people, with nothing to offer a tourist, except for the experience of being in a rural village with minimal tourist traffic. There were no other people staying there when...

This was our third visit to Fort Dhamli and on two occasions staying for a week. On our first visit three years ago we had only booked for a two night stay and liked it so much that we wanted to stay longer. We enjoy this quiet and peaceful hotel and the life in the small village of Dhamli. Since...

Hotels don’t get any more remote than this little gem because the village of Dhamli isn’t even on the Eicher Map of India. Dhamli has grown up around this mini-fort, but the high & crenelated walls still harken back to those days when this was a day’s ride (horse or vehicle) south of Jodhpur. 10-12 rooms around a central courtyard,...

On the western side of Rajasthan you will get close to the "real India" at Dhamli. The small Dhamli Fort is looked after by Inder Singh and Margaret Reid. While planning our seven week vacation in India with a four week car tour through Rajasthan onwards to Varanasi, we had seen a video where Inder was describing the history of...
