After reading some of the more recent reviews on this place, we were slightly apprehensive about what it might be like when we arrived.

I'm very pleased to say we had nothing but a brilliant time here. Our interactions with Eurocamp were brilliant when booking and were able to get cheaper ferry crossings by booking through them.

But when we arrived, we were allowed to use the facilities before we headed to our lodge.

We stayed in one of the wooden lodges sharing with another small family and it was great - exactly what you'd expect one to be like! It was a bit creaky, but what would you expect?

There was lots of outdoor private space we could let the kids run around in and close to the facilities - it had a gas barbecue too.

There is lots to do on site and brilliant for kids. Opposite us was a bar which sold drinks and snacks and had a soft play area, as well as a lake to take a pedallo out on and quad bikes for the kids to drive around on, on a little track.

The swimming pool changing area probably doesn't give you the best impression initially, but when you get up the stairs there's really great options with the pools. And some nice outdoor space, too.

The bar and snack places on site are all nice and tidy and the shop bakes fresh baguettes, croissants etc every morning - go early to avoid the queue.

Overall, if you've booked and you're worried by what you've read here, I think you need to look at the finer details of what's being moaned about.

Ultimately, this place is brilliantly priced - if you want somewhere higher end - then pay for it.

For normal people who have small kids/are on a budget - this place is amazing!!

Thanks to all the team who work there for a great stay :)

Our first trip to a euro camp.
On first glance everything seemed fine. We got settled and came across dirt, cobwebs, dust and stains.
Unsure what the cleaners do because it was messy. After speaking to a couple of workers they mentioned ‘yes the cleaners could be better but then you appreciate what you have at home’
When you pay a price whatever price you expect things to be clean.

We arrived early and to told they are just cleaning your cabin and it won’t be long!
It wasn’t long but as mentioned above what were they cleaning??

Our decking had weeds growing up through them and quite dangerous really luckily we didn’t have any children with us. Plenty of space in our garden we even made a tennis court as we weren’t paying (€7 for an hour in the tennis court of site)

The overall park was pretty clean, one evening we walked around the whole campsite. So would have no problems coming back here to camp as toilets and shower cubicles looked good although this wasn’t heat of summer( April/may).
Pool bar was a nice atmosphere but pricey!
X2 cocktails cost €18.

Swimming pool was crazy! Lots of people enjoying themselves but no the cleanest at all we saw plenty of plasters!! Couldn’t get anywhere near the hot tub.

We loved the fact we had a bbq like all the accommodation did. We used it most nights. Our last night - the bbq didn’t work my partner walked on over to an Irish lad who had finished his shift but still sorted it out no problems at all.
So a big shout out to the Irish lad who is also a teacher in SEN you are a big credit to the site. (Sorry didn’t catch your name)

The train from compeigni into Paris was €62 for two adults and €6 for parking all day at the train station (indigo) this was great once we found it.
No trouble on the train.

Overall we enjoyed our experience at the end of the day you make it your own.

We stayed here the first week of September. We booked via Eurocamp and had a lovely Azure caravan right on the lake. Caravan was spotless and the location was fantastic as we were within a couple of minutes walk to the lake, the beach and the swimming pools.

The beach area was lovely and the swimming pools were great for the kids.

My husband spent most of his time fishing on the lakes - he caught at least 20 fish in the 4 days we were there. The only sad part was that some of the fish really hadn't been taken care of and had torn lips. There were also no rules for the fishing so people were fishing without landing nets which meant they were dragging the poor fish up the side of the bank and they didn't have mats to put the fish on.

There wasn't an awful lot to do around the site, but we were only there 4 days and it was the end of a 3 week trip so we were just there to relax. We got very lucky with the weather, which was perfect every day, so my husband could fish and I could lay by the beach whilst the kids went swimming.

Definitely not even worth half the price we paid!!
We have just returned from our family holiday in la croix du vieux Pont, France and wouldn't even go back if they gave me a free stay!! We paid nearly €2000 for a premium 3 bed chalet but absolutely nothing was premium and should be reported to the trading standards for false advertising? What with the pandemic in France we were assured before we travelled that they are doing their best to prevent the spread of covid 19 so when we arrived at our chalet we were horrified at the state of the chalet. There was hair, plastic, glass, squashed bugs and even poo and toilet paper on the loo brush! A dead bird and dirty plasters in the garden and nails sticking out of the decking.
We took pictures and went straight back to reception to complain and about an hour later they sent 2 school girls up to clean the place and then we could see exactly why our chalet was filthy on arrival, they obviously had no training on how to clean properly. They are supposed to keep your deposit if you leave the place dirty but obviously this must have missed the check out inspection?
We couldn’t enjoy the garden as the furniture was uncomfortable, the decking unsafe and there was a disgusting smell of rotting garbage. Also plagued by wasps - it wouldn’t have taken much for them to put up a jar of repellent?
We were really looking forward to this holiday because of what has been happening in the world and it just gets you down when your holiday starts like this. That evening we went to have a shower but had to turn it off after a few minutes because the room was flooding. Reception was closed by now so I removed the drainage cover in the shower and it had so much hair down it I probably could have made a wig for rapunzel?
That night none of us slept because it was so hot in the chalet. Nothing anyone can do about this but these properties have been there for years and definitely need a/c as this is supposed to be premium? So what do you get for premium? In my opinion absolutely nothing! Wi-fi hardly ever worked and when it did it wasn't for long! All the furniture was ready for the tip and the maintenance was of a very poor quality! In fact all over the whole site the gardens were neglected and the tiles around the pool area were disgusting and damaged. The restaurant over charged us and the food was very average, service slow and again nothing done about the wasp situation. My partner and I both got stung. The take away took 50 mins to prepare our order (which they got wrong!) and the food was overpriced and tasteless. In my opinion this site needs to be run by one company so they can take some responsibility for the up keep of everything. This was the worst value for money holiday I've ever experienced and feel completely let down and ripped off!! This is a very honest review and I would advise anyone to do their homework if they do plan to ever stay here but would definitely recommend you don't.

We are camping here at the moment. I imagine if you hire a chalet or similar then you may have a very different experience, but we aren’t, and so...in the height of COVID 19 there appear no extra measures to ensure safety in the toilets, indeed the toilets were cleaned (apparently) at 5.20pm and at 5,40pm there is no toilet roll. There are only a very few toilets and showers (all currently occupied) for all campers. Shocking given there is a toilet block down the way with nearly all shower rooms locked and taps turned off. The shower drain looked as though a small pony had been sucked into it. Our pitch has massive weeds growing out of the tap. The WiFi (an extra 20 Euros) is hopeless and keeps failing. The restaurant at the man made lake is shut for all but paninis (closes at 7pm really!) placing huge pressure on the main restaurant which is fully booked for the next 3 days. I think it lacks management, service is poor and it smacks of a conglomerate not looking after a potential jewel.

A little too not cheap and cheerful for a Eurocamp.

I booked a comfort 3XL which didn’t appear to be the cheapest accommodation on the site at over £200 a night but having walked around the site it definitely appeared to be the worst in terms of garden space, amenities and location.

I was under the impression that although you are required to leave the accommodation clean it would be properly cleaned by cleaners. I very much doubt this happens as the floor was covered in sand and hair balls which the sweaty crawling baby got covered in. We also found empty crisp packets behind sofa cushions and the remains of the last tenants dinner in the frying pan.

We booked this as it had two toilets for our family of 5. Shame that one of the toilets was missing a toilet seat and despite mentioning this at reception and being assured it would be replaced that never happened. So we only had use of the one toilet.

The other thing that attracted me was eating breakfast and lunch out on the terrace. Sadly due to the fact that ours appeared to be the only home missing an umbrella outside and the sun was very strong this never happened. Again, this was mentioned at reception and promised to replace but didn’t happen.

The sofa was also covered in crumbs from the last tenants stay. Bleugh

All in all not somewhere weI will return to in a hurry as I think for the price we could have stayed somewhere much nicer and cleaner.

That said, the price is probably for all the activities there are for children and the extra curricular activities are fairly priced. The children loved it as they don’t see things such as dirt from previous tenants.

My cricked neck from the horrific beds and pillows will be a reminder for myself unfortunately for the near future. Just glad we booked only a few nights instead of a week as I couldn’t wait to leave.

We have just returned from a 6 night stay at this site. My two boys aged 6 and 9 really enjoyed the facilities - in particular the swimming pool complex (although it was extremely busy in the indoor pool and the outdoor pool was too cold to do anything other than dip your feet in) and the kiosk. We found the kiosk staff in particular very friendly and the boys really enjoyed all the activities on offer there.

The real let down was the accommodation. We had booked a 2 bedroom lodge and were bitterly disappointed. As other reviewers have mentioned, they are very poorly maintained. The doors didn’t close properly, there were bits of card shoved down the sides of cupboards as they were wonky - in fact the whole place seemed to be on a bit of a slope. There were ants on the kitchen, the water from the tap was cloudy and the smell of sewerage in the evenings was disgusting. My husband cut his foot on a nail sticking out of one of the stairs. The stairs are extremely steep so not at all safe for young children. But by far the biggest problem was the lack of air conditioning in these lodges. The bedrooms at the top of the lodge were like ovens - we brought 2 fans from home which were on in each room all night to try to alleviate this but on the first afternoon we arrived, temperatures were over 30 degrees and none of us could bare even to go upstairs until after 11pm, even with the fans on.

I would advise staying in one of the more modern accommodation options with air conditioning. Or if you have booked a stay on a lodge, taking fans with you is a necessity; as well as dishwasher tablets, toilet roll and cleaning products.

Overall, the facilities for children are good, the staff are friendly and the lake area is very peaceful but the accommodation on site leaves a lot to be desired, even when you are only expecting a ‘basic’ lodge on a campsite.

Very Disappointed with Eurocamp.
After driving from North Yorkshire to Dover and then onto Berny Riviere in France there was no Eurocamp representative to welcome us, instead there was a campsite rep standing in the carpark handing out a pack which included a map of where our accommodation was situated on site and the key for the property. We had to find our own way there. There was no welcoming introduction to the property or showing us around it but they made sure that we understood that we had to make sure the property was cleaned before we left by way of a reminder leaflet in the pack and also one stuck on the wall in the property so not only do we have to pay for our accommodation but we have to clean it for them as well. Don’t have to do that if we stay in a hotel or B&B!
Once we found our accommodation our first impression was not great. The wooden decking area looked weather beaten and neglected. Same goes for the outside furniture.
Inside wasn’t much better. It looked rather tired and uncared for. There were a couple of cooling fans one of which was covered in dust.
In the shower room there was a rusty old radiator and the shower itself was old and stained.
We found cobwebs above the refrigerator and in the corners of the rooms so had to clean before we could get settled in.
After a couple of days we heard a running water sound from underneath the property. On inspection we found that this was a water leak coming from under where the boiler was situated. We reported the problem twice and twice a member of staff came round to inspect it but nothing was ever done about repairing it.
We found that the boiler was constantly running (obviously due to the water leak) and came to the conclusion that this was the reason that we had to order two replacement gas bottles during our weeks stay. The leak itself didn’t bother us too much but the constant humming of the boiler 24/7 throughout our stay was somewhat annoying.
Overall our stay at La Croix du Vieux Pont was satisfactory with the park having ample and adequate facilities for all.
Unfortunately the same cannot be said for Eurocamp and their facilities. Their accommodation was old and tatty. There were no actual English speaking Eurocamp representatives on site to go to to report problems or to get advice or even just to have a chat. Just very disappointing for to us and for such a well renowned operator to have fallen so low. They need to get their act together.
We will not be holidaying with them again and will look for another operator in the future.

Dear Graham, We thank you for having taken the time to post such a detailed review. We are deeply disappointed to read that this stay did not meet your expectations. In order to simplify formalities as much as possible and to minimise waiting time, our welcome procedure does not include systematic accompaniment to the rental property. It is important to report any problems quickly so that the team can intervene if necessary. We have taken your comments very seriously and will use them to target our next improvements. Depending on the campsite, our courriers may be British or natives of the destination country. However, many members of staff speak English. We hope to have the chance of a next visit from you, which will be an opportunity for us to let you start again with a much better feeling. Kind regards, The Team La Croix du Vieux Pont

We visited last week. Had the best time, the park and the facilities are amazing. The kids loved the pool and the activity pass for the other activities are good value. The take away was reasonable price and very quick. Recommend the bakery in the village quicker to drive there and pick up the bread rather than queue on site.

The accommodation (booked through eurocamp) was poor to say the least. On arriving there was no one there to welcome us and envelopes had just been left with family names on I only saw these after standing around for 5 minutes looking confused. The actual caravan/lodge was poor the table in the living room was terrible, there were no sheets for hire despite it saying you could hire on the website, the shower was appalling it was impossible to get a good temperature and it just fired straight at the door over your head completely. The beds were very comfortable to be fair.

We had a fabulous day trip to Paris, we got the train and it was all really simple and cheaper than the coach from the park. We did Disney before we arrived and stayed at Davy Crockett I definitely recommend that too.

Where to start! Please don’t book a Villa Lodge as your holiday accommodation it’s heart breaking when you spend your hard earned money on such appalling accommodation. We left after 5 days fed up of such substandard and dirty accommodation.
We arrived to find we were a bed short, we went to reception to let them know this and they initially said to sleep on the L Shaped sofa in the living communal area. It was not a sofa bed by the way!
So we went back to the accommodation to edit for someone to visit to look at it. They arrived with clipboard in hand. Which by now was a good job as we had had time to discover more horrors.
Two of the beds had been made up with wet bed linen which on stripping them were exposed to the state of the filthy mattress. The downstairs double bed had lattes missing and was not a mattress just a piece of foam, the baby’s travel cot was broken as was the stair gate.
The downstairs toilet seat was broken. The fridge and kettle broken in places. We were told they had no kettle available to replace our broken one! This did get replaced after uk euro camp rep spoke to director. This is a joke in itself that to replace a broken kettle the director has to get involved.
The villa bunk beds had mouldy food stuck on the lattes as well as some pleasant previous occupant leaving a silly scary message on the bed which to a 7&8 year old reading that the bogeyman lives in the cupboard is scary.
The outside furniture some of it was broken and not useable.
General felt dirty and rickety with broken furniture, broken tv.
Expensive as you have to pay extra for so many other activities and facilities on the park. Restaurant lovely staff but expensive.
The staff seem to fly about on golf buggies doing very little, one them actually went round a corner too fast and nearly lost control. Please ban electric scooters on the park too they are an accident waiting to happen, with one nearly knocking my 2 year old granddaughter over.
I was visited by the cleaning team who offered absolutely no solutions so I said I would go to reception to see the manager. They raced past me in their golf buggy to run in and get to the manager first which I found hilarious to watch, the manager was of no use either when it came to finding solutions and decision making.
Euro camp please stop offering this accommodation on your site, the team in the uk were lovely but limited in what they could do for us other than sympathise.
I came here the year before had a lively time in different new and clean accommodation but will not be returning based on this dreadful experience.
The villa is described as a home from home experience on the website not in your wildest imagination is this the case unless you live in a garden shed!
