We (two couples) rented a two bedroom cabin. The kitchen facilities are dated, but clean and functional. The bedrooms are small and a bit cozy with two twin beds in each room. The bathrooms were spacious and clean - with great hot water. The staff were friendly and accommodating. The only negative was the strong fish smell outside the cabin...

Most of all we were impressed of the locals helpfullness. Was surprisingly taken care og already arriving the airport, when we were offered to join a taxi with 2 local, amusing, ladies, instead of order our own. Already in this taxi, they guided us by telling about Svolvaer and what we saw during the trip. We met them later in...

Our stay in Svolvaer was fantastic. We arrived and were given cabin 23, which was right out on the end on the island, overlooking the ocean and the stunning mountains across the bay. The cabin was small, but very cozy feeling. The bed was comfortable, the sitting area was great for relaxing and the kitchen was fine for making basic...

We caught the Torghatten Nord ferry from Bodo to Svolvaer which arrived at around 8:50pm. We walked to the Roxbury (with our suitcases) and it took about 10-15 minutes, it's all flat except the small incline onto the bridge, but it's not a deal breaker. Once across the bridge the exemption is on the right. The restaurant is open till...

Excellent meal in old authentic surroundings with very friendly and helpful staff. You have possibility to take a look next door into the old shop which is kind of a museum. This place is a must when you want a good proper meal in Svolvær.

I did not stay in a rorbu, but at the Vestfjord Suites hotel. I was aware of this when I made my booking, and was definitely not disappointed. It was a walk from the reception area, but there was a well-appointed room, with a beautiful view overlooking the harbor and mountains- incredible at all hours of the day. No matter...

Stayed here for 3 nights as part of a honeymoon trip around Norway. On arrival we were given a map & keys and told to make our way to our cabin. It was a fair old trek, not easy with snow on the ground and 2 cases. However we were rewarded at the end, being placed in cabin 23, at...

We stayed in number 22, a one bedroomed cabin, right at the end of a path. Absolutely amazing views from the living room , from both sides ( see photos ) . Views of sea and mountains from both sides and feels really private , as though one is at the end of the island ( which this cabin is)....
