Beautiful setting on white powder sand beach with THE best snorkelling we’ve ever experienced only a 50m swim from the beach. Amazing. Rooms very comfortable and tidy. Limited food on offer and everything closed by 9pm but that’s Covid for you. Manager (S) was so helpful arranging boat from Nghai to Lanta we then asked him to arrange a boat from Lanta to Phi Phi which he did, finding us a cheap price compared to other quotes we’d had.
We visited in January and found this place to be just magical. We inspected all the other resorts during our stay and are happy we made the right choice to stay at Thanya. The resort is perfectly located at the end of the main beach,so there are hardly any day-trippers and no boats moored out the front. Also, the jungle path to Paradise beach starts behind the resort. S and the other staff were fantastic, polite and helpful. We only ate at the restaurant on our first day but found the food to be good, though priced premium compared to other places on the island. Also worth noting was there were plenty of sunchairs for the guests and finding one was never an issue and even if you can't get one under the shade stands or right at the front, all the chairs have the same fantastic view and the trees provide plenty of shade all day. The beach out front and the snorkelling are fantastic and we did not go in the pool once. Bring some reef shoes for the rocks at low tide. All the bungalows are good and perfect to sleep when you spend most time outdoors anyway but unless you want to have the pool directly in front of you with noisy children, I'd stay away from the bungalows behind the pool. The air conditioning worked perfectly and though we were initially worried that gaps in the door etc would lead to a mosquito invasion, we needn't have been worried: The only place we saw mosquitoes during our entire stay was in the jungle, crossing to Paradise Beach. I agree with a previous review that the resorts bath lotions and shampoo are fantastic but the plastic bottles, on an island from which rubbish does not seem to be collected but burned behind each resort, detracts from the image of tropical paradise. Definitely the place we'll be coming back to.…
Arriving on the beach was like finding our little peace of heaven. We went out of season and had the place to ourselves. The staff are so friendly and the vibe is relaxed and uncomplicated. The bungalows are comfortable with air conditioning and large shower rooms. Three days was enough to recharge the batteries here. Great for snorkeling, canoeing and very calm clear waters. Sunsets are stunning and there are a number of beach bars to eat / drink along this stretch. Sad to see so many boats arriving with clients for snorkel excursions who leave their plastic bottles and trash along the beach....... Breakfast in the hotel is simple. Better to hold your appetite and enjoy a good lunch on the beach. Dinner in the restaurant was delicious - 10 out of 10.
It was good time spent in Thanya Resort. Very clean place comfortable bungalows with all needed items (great idea with dedicated lemongrass shampoo, conditionaire, soap and body balm) and great view on the bay. Kind staff, room service every day, delicious breakfests included, beautiful trees and flowers everywhere, lovely and funny dogs running around, swimming pool which can be used when gelly fish 'attack' the beach (everyday), good massage, many beach chairs, small library with books in different languages. Clean white beach. Advice: please stop using these small plastic bottles with drinking water in rooms, it's such a waste... you can use even the glass bottles and refill daily with filtered water, or replace small bottles with big ones. The whole resort is pro 'eco' but this small thing destroys that image unfortunetly. Another thing, it's very loud because of these old long boats. Not only loud but also the smog is visible (and stinking). That doesnt fit at all to the image of paradise island... why not to built a 20-30m landing stage/bridge for the boats in the end of the beach, so that the boats are only in one place, easy to get on board and not destroying the rafe? It could be used by all resorts. In general Inreally appreciate the holidays in Thanya resort and I recommend.…
We stayed 4 nights in sea view room. The room was on the mountain so sea view was incredible. We did not get a honeymoon bed decoration when we checked in but we got it one day later which was fine. Breakfast was okay. Hotel restaurant food was delicious and really big portion. There is a route to Paradise beach from the back on the reception. We really enjoyed our stay at Thanya Beach Resort.
