been there on Christmas week 2018. The rooms are clean, quiet, silent and comfortable. The only things missing were things we didn't really need (phone, fridge). There is also a nice relaxing areas in the basement. The food is extremely good and so was breakfast. Personnel are kind and welcoming. The hotel itself is conveniently located right out of Bolzano, on the way to Caresse lake, Ortisei and Passo Sella. Overall an excellent place

Me and my boyfriend visited Italy for the first time and we went on a low budget trip. This maybe the most expensive hotel in our trip but it was incredible and worth every penny. We spent at the hotel two nights. The hotel ran trough total renovation, so you can still smell the fresh wood. Everything there is wooden. It is basically a small family hotel which located next to small Italian farms in the area of Cardano-Kardaun and visited mostly by locals. The receptionist who was also the owner was very polite (but a little bit cold). There is WIFI in the hotel BUT it is limited to 4 houres per visitor for the whole stay (every one of us got a username and a password). There is also a very pleasant restaurant in which we had the most tasty meals of our trip. The waiter was very friendly and helpful.Originally we stayed on a bed and breakfast basis but for 30 euros we expended it to half board and believe us we didn't regret it. The rooms are small but cute and very very very clean. We were in the most simple room but it was comfortable: Big shower, extremely clean room as we already said and very pleasant in general. For better view ask for the rooms in the corner opposed to the road..The hotel surrounded by the mountains of the Dolomites and got spectacular places to go for a walk after dinner. However beside of this there is no were to go on foot, there is one pub you can go but other than this you won't have a shops, restaurants etc. So we suggest you to stay there if you have a car, in order to entertain yourself and travel around the magnificent sites of the Dolomites. Speaking about car, it is very confusing to get to the hotel without knowing the language (German or Italien) without it(car). To get there by public transport you should take a train to Bolzano-Bozen which is a sort of autonomic republic that belonged to Austria before the first world war and now full of german speaking people that most of whom refuse to speak english (like in most if the places in Italy) There are many buses that go to Cordano but the one you need is only line 182. We got on a wrong bus, arrived to Cardano went to the place googlemaps showed us that have the same address but was surprised that there is no hotel there. In order to save your nerves and time, we'ed like to recommend you to take a taxi from Bolzano train station to the hotel (That cost 20 euros) and on your way back you can take the bus (That cost 1.5 euros). Except from the confusion with our arriving part, everything was great. Especially we realy realy recommend the restaurant.

Stayed there for 1 night only. The restaurant is very good, the staff should be more polite for my taste, they took a long time to attend me. The rooms are very cozy and cute, nice comfy beds. For 1 day is perfect.

Excellent breakfast buffet, both sweet and savory (rare to find). I would recommend reevaluating the buffet's coffee mix. Excellent service and helpfulness from the staff. Perhaps a firmer bed pillow would also be needed for people with problems

Nice hotel: You can take the bus right outside the hotel, very convenient. The food was delicious, we had half board and I can highly recommend it to everyone. The salad buffet with fresh ingredients was our highlight. You also get a starter (e.g. risotto, tagliatelle or asparagus soup, a main course with a side dish e.g. roast beef with mashed potatoes etc. plus a dessert. Today we had pancakes with Nutella :)

The location is ideal, in 20 minutes you are in the middle of the snow, even in April, or at the beautiful Karersee. In 10-15 minutes you are in Bolzano. To the left of the hotel is a beautiful hiking trail including a large stream. To the right is a forest. Also beautiful.

The rooms are very quiet and the windows insulate very well. That's why we slept very well every night. So I couldn't understand the review I had read before that it was too loud.

We will definitely come back.

Hotel with new rooms, but without fridge, telephone in the room, or air conditioning.
Excellent location for getting around as it has a bus stop down by the hotel: with lines 180 and 181 you can reach the center of Bolzano in less than 5 minutes.
The owner Mr. Manfred is very helpful, but personally I think he needs to surround himself with more competent people: the waiters in the room were occasional, very careless and marked drinks not taken on the rooms.
I have to make a special note about the blond waiter Mr. Hanz: very rude, he constantly mumbled in German if you asked him something, he never tied up his hair which was long making it very messy.
On the veranda there were lots of cobwebs which, although we complained about their presence, were never removed.
The cuisine was discreet, the vegetable buffet always full of midges.
Sauna area very clean and despite being small, really nice.

Buonasera, è un hotel "comodo" x visitare i mercatini di Natale?
Answer from EleonoraNonelli
Gandino, Italy187 contributions111 helpful votes
