Called in on a lunchtime with the wife and two grandchildren, on entering we were told we could sit anywhere and someone would be over to take our drinks order. Painless process as it was and the beer was reasonable, a little too cold but reasonable enough for me to have 3 or 4! However after looking at the menu the boys asked if they could have some chips. We tried to order but were told that they don't serve "just sides"... Now considering these places were closed for 4 months earlier this year you'd have thought all trade was welcome but apparantly not! Biggest kick in the guts was finding out later that the over chilled beer was £5.85 a pint... Now I know why they don't need to sell sides! We won't be back, that's for sure.

Your review is inaccurate & somewhat rude, the beer is served at the correct temperature as stipulated by the brewery & not one single one of our beer products are anywhere near £5.85 per pint! It is a company policy that sides are served as an accompaniment to main courses. However I must add that as you stayed with us for 3 or 4 pints you must have enjoyed the venue somewhat. We hope to see you again

We were in Ingoldmells for a 3 day visit which was part of our uk trip in a campervan. We had drinks here and sat outside the first night... They had a “DJ” on outside which was a good touch I think but not to our taste. The outside area was messy with fag ends on the floor and tables are not cleaned/disinfected between users. Drinks seemed expensive but a nice lively pint of Kronenberg.

On the second day we ate here while visiting fantasy island and went for food. The ordering was odd as you can’t order food when getting drinks. We had to queue twice at different bars for food and drinks. The food was nice, of good quality and well presented. Expensive though I thought for what it was. They had a massive sign outside with 2 meals for £14 on but it turns out that was cancelled because of Covid. I don’t really understand what that means if I’m honest... is it because of supply issues? Less chefs in the kitchen? I dunno as they were still busy and not limiting numbers eating. IMO it’s because they knew Ingoldmells would be packed because no abroad hols and they make hay while sunshines and remove cheap deals...

To conclude, I had a nice visit and a good meal and a few nice pints. If I was ever in Ingoldmells again, I’d probably pop in again.

Thank you for taking the time to post a review. We are pleased to see that you would visit us again. For us to offer the 2 for £14 special menu we would need to have more staff in the kitchen & this is not possible during the current time of COVID. We do employ staff during opening hours purely to collect glasses & plates etc & to clean & sanitise tables between customers. We look forward to your next visit.

My husband, Ralphie (the dog) and me went for evening tea and a couple of drinks, we were really pleasantly surprised. Nicely spaced out, so felt safe, good food, but what topped it for me was my dog was able to visit with us. And he even got his own bowl of water. Thank you

I don't usually leave reviews but feel I have to warn people before booking this hotel , we arrived at the weekend for my sons birthday on arrival the smell that greeted us as soon as you open the doors to the hotel is disgusting smells like rotten drains ! We booked a family room with balcony rate was £330 for two nights. There is no lift so if you have a pram this needs carried up two flights of stairs, Arrived at the room (40) and it was freezing cold tried to switch heating on and it didn't work went to report this to the staff at 6pm and they said they would take a look when I was out , we arrived back at the room and it was still freezing cold the staff knocked at the door at 12pm touched the radiator and said yeah it not working that was all they did , so they arrived back a few minutes later with an electronic heater by this point my boys we wrapped up full clothed to keep warm and my 7 week old baby was wrapped up and having to wear hat for bed just to keep warm the electric heater kepted tripping all the electrics in the room and smelted of burning the staff said they would have to wait and get a plumber the next day as it was now to late even though I reported it at 6pm.
Day 2 still no heater or hot water we had to boil the kettle just to wash was told plumber would be there later that day we went out for the day and when we arrived back we were told nothing could be done and would still be no heater that night this issue only affected our room and other family in the hotel had heating, they couldn't offer another room for us because there was four plus a baby however they did have rooms for four and we would have fitted at travel cot in however we were told no. When checking out I asked to speak to a manager for the second day to be told he wouldn't be around until Monday and that he would call me , since arriving home we are all poorly with a cold and never heard a thing back from the hotel i have emailed them twice and still nothing . I will never stay at the hotel again the customer service it shocking and the hotel could do with a deep clean.

During the current pandemic the expectation is that you queue for a long time which is now an acceptable part of life. What should not be acceptable is that you queue for 30 minutes to find the only sign that says the 2 4 £14 is not on offer due to the virus that the Pub classics menu has only two items left and there will be a 50 min wait. No Yorkshire Pud Stew No Cottage Pie No Steak and Ale No Beef Stew. having queued so long we ended ordering anything. Our vegetarian option being the only one that raised a comment of it was OK. Because the two Gammon's were chewy the chips hard and the Spagbal to quote my eldest Grand daughter (15) tasted like cat food
Not once did anyone ask if our food was OK
I know I could have said something however 30 min to order and a 50 min wait was just to much on a hot day
Really poor effort

Sorry that you did not enjoy your time with us. As we mentioned on an earlier response since we have reopened our suppliers have been struggling to supply us with many items. We do try to source elsewhere but this is not always possible. We do serve good quality pub grub & should a customers have any issues we request that they let us know at the time so that they can be rectified.

Ordered a family room and got a double bed when I needed a cot as well (even put it in the notes to make sure). Couldn’t change my room but lucky I brought a travel cot with me.
Getting into my room is harder then breaking into a bank. 6 times I had to go up and down the stairs to my room and reception as the key wouldn’t work. Then the next day the same thing. Ended up leaving and going back home for the night as the wife had to go back to work and there was no way I could go up and down the stairs with a two year old, stroller and other things on my own. Gave them 2 days to sort it and they didn’t. 4 days in and my key just fails (no where near my phone or other cards so they can’t wipe it).

The food they serve I wouldn’t give to a starving dog. Met up with my family who were staying on a site just up the road and decided to try the food. Full rack of ribs was ordered and only about 5/6 on the plate and over cooked, dry and I’m sure it could be classed as a weapon with how hard they was. Chicken was dryer then the dessert. The fish was frozen (cooked fully but can definitely tell it was frozen and not fresh like they said it was). Only good thing was the dirty fries.

No COVID restrictions in place other then table service, tables never cleaned unless asked and you can tell that the staff have had enough and just don’t care anymore (the fact we caught one working here in the day and then across the road at another pub at night might be why).

Visited the pub side a lot last year just as it was taken over by the new owners and it was a decent place to visit. They need the old manager Dave back as he knew how to run things. But then again, they told him he had to work 14-16 hour shifts so he left.

I would advise everyone to avoid this hotel nightmare at all costs. Pay the extra £50 and get a caravan or anywhere else.

Well what can I say about this fantastic Hotel and pub. We booked a room for 3 nights at the end of Jan for my husbands 60th Birthday (yes I'm hearing you ... Ingoldmells in Jan lol)
I messaged the hotel to see if they could put balloons and banners in the room, they replied quickly and it was no problem at all.
I then had different family and friends arriving at different stages of the weekend as a suprise for hubby, so I messaged the hotel again and asked if the could source a disco sat afternoon 2 til 7 for me , amazingly this again was no problem.
So sat arrives hubby is at golf, another suprise, Susan and the staff at the pub went over and above to make us feel so welcome, hiding his cake, sorting out an area for us (12 of us lol)
Hubby gets back from golf to his suprise disco, I cannot thank the all the staff for their hard work and attentiveness, Susan cut the cake perfectly brought it over on lovely serving plates with napkins.
We had THE BEST afternoon nothing was too much trouble for any of the staff, a massive THANK YOU from me and all our friends

As it was a lovely day my Wife and I decided to have a day out in our open top car, we drove to the coast and ended up at Ingoldmells and whilst walking back to the car we spotted an open air pub for some lunch. We chose what we thought was a quiet table, how wrong we were as we hadn't been there very long when the music was turned up to such a high volume that it was difficult to hold a conversation.
I entered the pub to order the drinks and food and was surprised that I seemed to be the only one wearing a mask. I ordered scampi for my Wife and I tried to order the battered haddock which was not available so had the breaded haddock instead. I also ordered one Merlot and coke and ice for which I was charged the horrendous charge of £8.47!!!!
The meals arrived fairly quickly and were served by two very friendly ladies, however the meals were awful, the scampi and the haddock (which was still partly cold in the middle) were mushy, as were the chips and the mushy peas looked as if they had just been chucked on at the last minute!. Not very good at all, and therefore we didn't eat very much. To cap it all at a table near us a couple had their dog actually on the table, surely that's a big No No. There is no way we would ever go back to this place, and we certainly would not recommend it, infact quite the opposite.

Popped in with a group of 8, 5 kids and 3 adults. Adults had a chicken baguette, comprising stale bread, barely fried onion and unmelted cheese with rubbery chicken. Kids had the usual fare, you can't mess chicken nuggets up really but one had a Sunday dinner. Very solid, rubbery and flavourless vegetables, a slither of fatty beef and Yorkshire puddings and roast potatoes microwaved to within an inch of the their lives. Adult Sunday dinner fared the same.

Also I found £11 for one pint of Kronenbourg, 2 pints of tap water with very weak orange cordial and a small coke absolutely ridiculous.

Toilets had no soap and were dirty.

We do serve good quality pub grub, if you had felt there was an issue with your meals you should have brought it to the attention of our supervisors who will rectify any legitimate issues. I am unsure of why you mention chicken nuggets as although it is offered on our menu we have not been serving this since we reopened in July due to supplier stock shortages. Our drink prices are in line with other venues in the area.

Dreadful place, so dirty, tables sticky, carpets black and stained, disabled toilet disgusting, thick black grime and long time since a good clean (or even a bad one!) Drinks were expensive ., lager between 4 and 4.40, which wouldn't have been so bad If barman hadn't tried to overcharge by adding an extra pint, and the worst of all, I had a soda, being designated driver, it had a funny taste.., couldn't quite work out why, then I noticed it smelled funny too, I went to bar and asked barman to smell glass, after doing so he immediately got another glass and repaired soda, which was then fine, so it makes me cringe to think and say that they had put my drink in an unwashed glass....uggggh!!
