Just sat looking at Skegness water leisure hoping it’s going to open ( unable due to Coronavirus 🥴)
Was gutted to read some reviews, we as a family love the site and facilities.
I appreciate there are some people who don’t stick to the rules but this is a fact of life nowadays everywhere.
I like the rules as this keeps a nice respectful site 99% of the time.
1% of people have no respect for
Themselves or others.
The barn inn is kept loverly serving good food and drink and decent prices we have always found all the staff helpful and friendly.
The site is always highly maintained and offers some of the best touring pitches overlooking a beautiful fishing lake I can find.
You can sit and relax watching the would go by or take a stroll in lots of direction to the market / beach / Skegness/ fantasy island.
We have been going to water leisure for 18 plus years our parents used to own a static caravan and I have fond memories pushing my three kids back a forth from various adventures.
We now have the freedom of a Motorhome and us as a family look forward to returning ASAP.
May I add the site must has invested millions of pounds over the last decade at there own risk they deserve honest descent people well done Skegness water leisure.

we stayed here camping this week monday to friday and we loved it reception was quick and hassle free and within 5 minutes of arriving the ranger showed us to our pitch . we had a great spot close to toilets and showers which were cleaned regularly. its a lovely site about 15 - 20 minutes walk to ingoldmells and 40ish to skegness . the showers were clean and hot the downside though the showers are on a push tap which lasted about 7 seconds before needing to be pressed again which is a bit of a pain i think that could be extended.. overall a great place to camp we weathered storm francis in a tent and it hasnt put us off going again . One final thing a big thank you to the ranger who was chatty friendly and really helpful in getting us and my brother and his family pitched next to each other in a camp that was fully booked ..thanks for a great stay and we will definately be back.

Only stayed for 1 night when setting our caravan up for our son, site is clean and well spaced, staff were helpful. We pitched at eh far end near the airstrip which was a quieter location so noise from the town was not too bad also the site was less full here so lots of space. The facilities were not the best u=I have used this year and social distancing seemed to rely on posters asking people to stay 2 meters apart. Other sites i have used have taped off every other sink, toilet etc. Also male toilets do not have lids so you can not close the lid when flushing, again a way to control covid. Outside sinks for crockery washing do not have plugs and the water is luke warm. Other than this the is OK

We have been coming to Skegness water leisure park for a number of years & this year will be the last. I was expecting to see good social distancing measures in place due to pandemic, but we was very disappointed the only thing they have in place is a couple of signs telling you to social distance which is only common sense anyway. Pitches was nowhere near the amount they should be despite what there claiming on comments to some of the reviews they have received. The only sanitiser they provided was outside the shop, barn inn & reception. There was nothing in place near the showers or the toilets which is the more used area and most needed I would say. Luckily We took our own to use while we was there although I was expecting this to be provided considering the current situation. They have literally squeezed as many people in as they possibly can, there was electric hook up wires left right and centre not safe at all. Also on arrival we asked if there was any available pitches on the right hand side of the skiing lake to be told there wasn’t any pitches free so then we asked if we could be put near by my mum and dad who was arriving shortly after us literally 5 minutes. to then be told you can’t go together as there’s no available pitches to be together. So we was then put right near reception which was rammed with tents and caravans which was bizarre considering tents and caravans aren’t allowed to pitch On the same field apparently so. Then my mum and dad was given a pitch on the right side of the skiing lake even though there was no pitches available.and they was lots of pitches available and there was caravans and tents on that field even though they can’t be put together and there’s no pitches available so not only have they lied through there back teeth & they’ve also contradicted themselves. We was then told we can pitch next to them. Seems to be one lie after Another. previously to our stay my dad phoned up to see if we could possibly be put by the lake to be told it will depend on your arrival because when someone has left the pitch it has to be left 48 hours before someone can pitch on the same pitch. During our week stay we seen lots of people come and go on the same pitches next to us within an hour or so of people checking out. On our last stay I was adamant I wasn’t coming back last time we stayed here there was constantly loud music into the early hours they was loads of people complaining but all they said was they keep turning it down when we walk past. doesn’t really take a genius to work out there going to do that does it? But we came back hoping it was a one off. I can honestly say we will never be back to this camp site again I’m absolutely disgusted with the lack of safety measures in place considering the seriousness of the situation we are in, and the constant lies they seem to tell you for some unknown reason.

We arrived after a last minute booking and as first time campers we was a little unsure what to expect. The reception staff were lovely and gave us the choice within a field to pitch without a limit on size (we had a large 8 birth tent). There was shower, toilet and drinking water facilities within a short distance. I was pleasantly surprised the showers were warm and upon showering the children after a day at the beach the shower room was heated.
We ate at the on-site restaurant and it was average pub food, good value for money. Overall it was a pleasant and peaceful experience and we will be returning in the future.

For the size of site and the price of the stay I was quite disappointed.

They don’t have any recycling bins and every is just chucked into single, black refuse trade bins. As if it is 1990.

Laundry services are terrible. I found 1 working washing machine. For how many people? This means you have to drive into town. Which is horrendous for traffic.

I also couldn’t find any EV charging points. Coastfields has six of these. Butlins has them as well.
Again this means you have to drive into town. Which again, you would want to avoid.

Toilets and shower blocks are very basic. The washing up facilities don’t have plugs in the sinks. So you have to precariously balance your own washing bowl over the sink.
The last site I had been to in Rutland has a camp site dishwasher.

The pub is quite nice but could do with some evening entertainment.

I think the site needs some investment.

Just spent 4 days at the park. I must say it’s clean and they are keeping numbers at a low not to over crowd. I felt safe and there are plenty of clean facility’s. The bar was well organised and they didn’t over crowd unlike a bar down the road. Down side they aren’t letting dogs in the bar anymore. Not sure why as dogs don’t carry Covid. One thing I would like the park to consider is stopping people with massive pole lights after midnight. These shine very brightly into other caravans and there is no need to have them on when your asleep.

Response from John Chappell, General Manager at Skegness Water Leisure Park
Responded 19 Aug 2020
Dear Clairegregory34 Thank you for your review and we are delighted that you enjoyed your stay. Unfortunately, Covid-19 has forced us to change our operations and whilst we all have dogs and love them to bits, because we have to "ration" seating inside, we don't have the spare capacity to allow dogs (except Helper Dogs) inside. Hopefully, there will soon be a vaccine and we can get back to normal. We will also carry out a review of pole lights after midnight for the near future. We look forward to welcoming you back soon. Kind regards John Chappell

I recently spent 6 nights at this lovely site and had a wonderful experience overall. The location is peaceful and quiet, making it the perfect place to unwind and relax. The beds in our accommodation were incredibly comfortable, ensuring we had restful nights throughout our stay.

However, I did have some concerns about the Wi-Fi. While it states it's only available for people in the S-Pods and bungalows, I noticed that the network is not secured with a password. This means that anyone on-site can access it, which raises some security concerns. It would be great if the management could implement a password-protected Wi-Fi system to ensure the safety and privacy of all guests. Although a password was provided, we found that anyone on site could connect to the Wi-Fi without needing to use it. We tried relying on 4G for most of our stay, but the signal was weak, making it difficult. The Wi-Fi was also very slow, likely because of the number of guests using it.

There’s a small arcade on-site with six 2p machines and a few grabber machines. The pub also offers food, though we didn’t have a chance to try it, so I can't comment on the quality. The outdoor park is nicely updated and pleasant, but it’s quite small, with only one swing, so you might have to wait a while for your child to use it.

Despite this issue, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend this site to others, especially if you’re looking for a quiet and comfortable retreat.

We had a serious issue with our tent leaking I've only camped a few times and all the bedding had got soaked we had gone out for the day and did not notice till late in the day after we had eaten and had a few drinks. I had brought extra sleeping bags ect. so we had some dry bedding. But the reception had closed for the day. I saw jamie driving round and told him the situation he told me he had a few jobs to do but would come and help. he had several ideas which helped get me and my family a dry nights sleep and with out his help I don't know what i would have done.

Can't fault the place at all. Everywhere was clean and tidy and the staff were very friendly and helpful. I read a review that picked fault with the showers not staying on long enough but all you have to do is keep pressing a button to turn it back on, it's not a big deal and probably more of a safety feature to save water. The staff at the onsite pub and cafe were great and a good laugh. We camped in a tent the first night but it rained really heavy so we upgraded to a pod for an extra £14. They drove us to the pod and helped us with our bags. The pod was really quiet so got a great couple of nights sleep. It had 4 plug sockets, a heater, disposable BBQ area, inside/outside lights and picnic table. Definitely coming back next year, if I could give it 6 stars I would.
