Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Where do I start…. Upon arrival in 0 degrees the caravan had no heating on so was as cold as it was outside (to the point our toddler started going blue). It took all night to warm up and then at 2am the following night the gas bottles had ran out so all heating shut off, it was -1 out so got cold very quickly. No emergency contacts so I called security who were very helpful and changed the bottle within an hour. The caravan was not only cold but absolutely filthy. There was mould in the washing up drainer. Cob webs everywhere, wall trims hanging off, rust and dust everywhere, heavily stained carpets and bench, thick dust on bedside lamps, no mattress or pillow protecters. Yellow stains on duvets and pillows - if you’re going to leave the linen to be put on by the customers you need to at least make sure they aren’t stained? There was a terrible smell coming from the fridge and the kitchen sink. The blinds were covered in marks and dust. There was a loo roll in the en suite that looked like it had been used for a game of football and then hung up to dry. It was that crisp and dirty I think even the bin would throw it back at you. We left early as you could probably guess. I can’t tell you enough if you’re reading this please go anywhere but here. The staff (apart from security who are an external company I believe) are rude, unhelpful and quite clearly incompetent. The manager doesn’t seem bothered either.

Arrived on park booked a gold pet caravan , waited a while to check in then had to have a wristband placed on all of us which was a pain , told don’t park on grass as it’s frowned upon outside your caravan use car park , caravan was anything but clean there was an awful smell in the caravan when we arrived so opened all windows to air off went out for tea came back still stinking , couldn’t sleep in the double room as smell so bad , looked under the bed to find dog poo 🤢, we brushed living room floor got a pile of dog hairs not hoovered properly at all , no hoover or carpet sweeper in van just a brush which is a disgrace in a dog caravan , went to reception to complain about dog poo just apologised and that was it , there attitude in reception is appalling not helpful in the slightest , they have a cheek to ask for £50 damage bond when you check in , swimming pool you had to book a time slot lifeguards just sat on phone the whole time or spent time talking to there mates , entertainment looked rubbish so didn’t bother , meals in aqua bar were the only good thing about the place service in the aqua bar of a morning was good all the staff of a morning in there were pleasant and helpful only place that they were . All in all I wouldn’t stay again and wouldn’t recommend it for anyone else either .

Paid £270 for a family weekend away to receive a dirty broken caravan. Stairs just to get in were barely attached to the van itself. Flooring was all lumpy with bubbles in. Bedroom had all dirt around the windows and mould on the ‘clean’ sheets. All dirt and rust on the towel radiators and plenty of stains on the sofa. To top it all off my daughter fell down the unsafe caravan steps went to the reception and bar for first aid or ice packs ect given no help just shrugged their shoulders and said don’t have any first aid like ice packs! Staff had no manners and didn’t want to help in any way.

We have bought our own caravan and I have to say the service we received from the salesman Tris was superb. He kept us informed throughout the whole process and nothing was too much trouble. The caravan we have bought is in excellent condition and so far we have nothing but praise for the whole site. From deciding to buy to actually moving in, Tris got it all done in 6 days!

FILTHY Omg have never gone to stay and some were so unorganised. Checking in was a joke and the insistence of placing a tight band on all members is silly they are tight and not nice when we go off sight. The caravan was filthy had to hoover first. There was a bad smell inside and dirt on the floor. The bathroom had loo roll on the floor and hadn’t been flushed and also the sink had a dirty glass in it and cigarette butts in the bin. It was the worse I’ve ever seen. We didn’t complain as what was the point. We have let them know since we left early ! No mattress protectors or pillows protectors, hair in bed and shower. The site itself is not very safe no security checking who’s driving in etc, it’s too noisy and the amount of time we saw police cars flying in and around the site. The staff seemed rude and the whole place feels unkept, I wouldn’t recommend staying there, we had people around us all smoking and not just cigarettes! We had children running around the vans and hit my car a few times, the pool is dirty some of the lifeguards sat near the back doors a lot of the time on their phones ! The cleaners that clean the vans need re training like I said I have never stayed anywhere that on day one I wanted to leave. The only positive I would say is the beach is so close. Would I stay again never! There is no excuse for this lack of basic cleaning !

I have for the last 10 years only ever stayed at one holiday park and had the best holidays. Sadly that park has been sold to Haven and is now awful so we were on the look out for a new holiday park. After some time looking my daughter decided that Coastfields Holiday Village was where we were going to try first. Having read the reviews on here I had concerns and was worrying on the journey over as to what we would find. I had no need to worry. I was pleasantly surprised and we had a great holiday. We booked a gold caravan. On arrival check in was easy. The caravan was very modern and well cleaned. Beds made up is always a bonus. The site was tidy. There is a small park but not much to do there. The shop on site is quite big and very good. Arcade was good, quite big and plenty of variety of things to go on. There is a swimming pool with baby pool next to it. Main pool is not full size and only 1.1m at its deepest but good enough to swim or play. Booking was easy. There are plenty of activities on for children in the day time. My childrens favourite ones were pottery painting and build a bear. The night time entertainment was good and the entertainment team were fantastic. The main showbar is a lot smaller than we are used to but if you get there for 17:30 you will get a seat. Kids entertainment was good. The outside acts are not of the level of where we used to go but we enjoyed every night and was surprised by cheesy bingo as it was good. The effort dedication and hard work put in by the entertainment team made each night really good and made a real difference, they were everything the Haven entertainment team were not! The showbar toilets could do with an upgrade. I also have to mention the bar staff in the main bar and side bar as they were so friendly, happy and helpful. The site is only a short walk from the beach and main Skegness is only 5 minutes away in the car. We enjoyed our holiday and will definitely come back again. I have to give a special mention to the entertainment team, Rhea, Harry and Rosie they were brilliant with my children, specially my 4 year old, he has only ever been to the one Holliday park and can be quiet and shy in new surrounding. They went out of there way to be so nice to him, include him and interact with him. He had a happy holiday and it made his night when they played the Koukou move.

Why is there so many bad reviews? The entertainment team were amazing, going above and beyond to see children smile. Caravan was spotless, the beach is a short walk away and there’s some shops further down in the day. The arcade was great, won a lot. I recommend coastfields to you. Don’t listen to the bad reviews, it’s by far the best caravan site we’ve ever been to. The voices of the animals did sound a bit like haven, but it was formerly owned by haven. The swimming pool was easy and free to book. There was a hot tub, small pool and big pool. They are a bit cold, but you get used to it. The clubs small, and gets full quickly, so go at half five. We will be returning, and strongly agree its a great site.

After reading the bad reviews after I booked I thought the worst and expected a rubbish family holiday, I was surprised as it was not like what some reviews had said, reception staff was friendly and helpful when booking in, caravan was nice and clean, the clubhouse was good, we never had an issue booking swimming, the pool was clean and I never saw a lifeguard on there phone, food was nice, I never tried the Chinese takeaway that is on site so I can't comment on the food from there, right next to the beach and a 5 minute walk to ingoldmells, I can't complain about anything on the site.
