The food was fantastic, especially the breakfast spread (homemade blueberry coffee cake, french toast casserole and a perfect soft-boiled egg!). Beds were comfy and the herb garden and patio sunset views just perfect. We stayed in the 9 person bunk room and it was great! Fantastic value for $$ and the hosts were lovely and welcoming!

Our family of five stayed overnight in the First Settler's Lodge on 18 July 2016. The lodge is absolutely beautiful! The accommodations are first rate. We had two rooms with two queen beds in each room and one room with a sofa bed for our grandson, each with a full bath. The decor is just wonderful...our room was a black...

The owners, Wayne and Denise couldn't have been nicer. The breakfasts were great and we had dinner one night which was excellent. Our room was lovely and comfortable....

The spectacular view off a deck in one of the charming spacious rooms in beautiful rural Maine where the meals are home made from scratch and mouth watering till the last bite. This a wonderful upscale lodge. Well worth the trip to northern Maine. Pet friendly always a plus. FRIENDLY owners

We stayed at the First Settler's Lodge for a wedding and we were very pleased. The place is really nice and definitely worth staying if you are in the area. The breakfast was a great option the following morning. The rooms were clean, the staff was very helpful, and the back patio and garden were really beautiful. And you can't...

The couple who own and rent out the rooms were very helpful. I was able to call them up at midnight to help steer me in, this place is pretty remote. The rooms do not have a/c, but did not need it, large windows in the rooms let the cool fresh air in, even in the middle of summer we...
