Lovely two day stay at the new place for a business 2 day event. I have been here several times over the years and love the setting of this hotel in beautiful grounds. Rooms satisfactory. Best stay clear as we booked for two nights and only stayed one as service is worst we have ever not good m, they say pets allowed in bar ,but only have 6 lower tables , rest bar stools height, rooms cold as they turn heating off at night and back on at 0530hrs

After being disappointed by another venue . We found ourselves being emersed in the most romantic, beautiful hotel . From the first port of call with reception (Damion). To the most exquisite evening meal on the last night our lovely young lady on duty was so helpful and polite (grace ) . And the most polite and gentlemanly Bar man (Cameron ), a young man with the the perfect host .I also would like to say thank you to our lovely housekeeper ( Nicola ) , who's attention to detail was perfect .

Convenient location for training course, with decent conference facilities and comfortable chairs. Staff were all very friendly and welcoming. Room was adequate but basic. No fridge, drinking water or little extras like biscuits or hot chocolate. Bathroom so narrow it was hard to avoid getting burnt on the towel rail when drying after a shower, unless standing in the bath. Room needed a spring clean - pipes and skirtings were dusty and there was fluff on the walls. Bedroom radiator did not work and a couple of light bulbs needed replacing. The toilet blocked on the second morning of my 3 night stay. It was fixed but still did not flush completely. Parking was inadequate for the numbers on the site and the car park was rough underfoot, wet and muddy. The outside areas around the accommodation blocks needed sweeping of dead leaves and the faded summer bedding looked depressing. Food was canteen/school dinner style and the vegetables were overcooked but there was plenty.…

We found the staff to be very friendly and efficient. Our room was very clean and comfortable. The location and grounds are really good. The restaurant food was excellent and the breakfast buffet was what you would expect. We'll stay again.

What a fantastic experience. Bryony, reception manager, very welcoming. Introduced to the new general manager, nice chatty chap. Room was as usual, spotlessly clean. Evening meal in the fantastic dining room was awesome. Conrad, F&B manager made us feel welcome. Breakfast? Wow. Just superb. Staff welcoming and pleasant Special mention to Bryony, Abi and Conrad for making our stay pleasant. Abi was very chatty and pleasant without being over friendly. Thank you. Top marks to her trainer. Negatives? Prices? Way way too high which was evident on the ‘covers’ 8 people in the lounge on a Saturday evening. Gosh. AND no Guinness again. Please listen to your reviews.

This is a lovely hotel. The rooms are large and are away from the main building. Despite being called "New", like the New Forest, it's not! The main building, in particular, is a beautiful old building set a few miles outside Southampton.

Should be amazing as in a great setting but just isn't, we booked a superior double room and for the money thought the room was small and not worth it, the bathroom wasn't very nice, plastic toilet seat, plastic shower curtain and hose, room was small and we could hear every footstep of the apartment above, all the staff we encountered were very young, helpful and cheery, we paid £25 for two 'cocktails' which were probably the worst I've ever tried and overall everything was a little expensive for what you got so we didn't feel it was value for money, we didn't make breakfast so can't comment but was told it was good by another guest.

Quiet and cozy hotel, with many apartments which are not in the main building but in a sort of lot behind the mansion. Rooms are quite small but modern and overall ok. The grounds are so big and pleasant to walk. Also they have a nice SPA with a decent size pool and sauna. For this reason and because of the very set up, I would probably avoid going during school holidays if you seek relax. Unfortunately I cannot vouch for cleanliness. We found other people’s… how can I put it… “mess” stuck in one of the towels… luckily we saw that BEFORE wiping. At the reception they said a pro-forma “sorry” without even aknoweledging how unacceptable this was, let alone taking any action. Horrifying. Fortunately the dinner (we chose half bord option) was incredibly good, probably one of the best food I’ve ever had in UK so far, proper gourmet, finally. Mixed feeling for this review then. 2 stars because I’m STILL grossed out.…
