There Mercure is not a bad hotel, that would be unfair. But it is not that special either. For starters it is right next to the busy A21 and just outside a busy intersection - the noise does not at all disturb but somehow a touch disappointing when you read about an old converted Oast house at its core...somehow you...

We stayed at the hotel as part of a red letter experience and after having a lovely time in Tunbridge Wells and going for dinner at the vineyard (highly recommend) we came back to the hotel which I'm sure had Bazil Fawlty in the management somewhere. We thought we would have a drink at the bar which to be honest...

Stayed in this hotel for one night as part of a business trip. The member of staff at reception was very welcoming and checked us in very efficiently. The reception area is very pleasant although you are hit with a smell as soon as you come in, although to be fair it is no doubt chlorine smell coming from their...

Having been gifted this at a charity event - we were looking forward to an evening out. Firstly, the staff are friendly and efficient - but that is where it ends. Food service so very slow - then when it eventually turned up was so bland that the condiments could not even do it justice. The long awaited starters of...

We came here for a spa deal and were really impressed. The receptionist was very friendly and efficient checking us in ( early before 12) to our room. The room was a spacious twin with ensuite and the bed was firm but very comfortable. We went to the spa and enjoyed the steam room and pool, but we're disappointed that...

Wanted an overnight stay at a hotel with a spa and found an offer for this hotel on Wowcher. After booking directly with hotel l discovered that the beauty room here is privately owned and was closed all day Sunday! Although there is a link on the hotel website, it would have been helpful to have seen information on this...

Visited the Mercure for hubbys birthday for one night. I got a deal on wowcher which included breakfast and spa access plus early check in and late check out. When we arrived there was loads of parking spaces and the check in was smooth and the staff member really friendly. She told us we had been upgraded to a suite,...

My sister and I stayed here in November, after purchasing a "spa day" with Wowcher. The hotel is ok, but incredibly tired looking and really needs redecoration. The first room we were given was awful, blown light bulbs, peeling paint on the ceilings, the view from the window was a roof and cracked work surfaces where the tea/coffee was situated....

This hotel is the epitome of a tired British 1970 hotel. Mercure will never be able to disguise the fact that it's an old house with a kid 20th century extension, and it's quirky was is definitely not cute. The tir dense was also evident in the staff. It took 30 mins to check in, the queue was only 3...

We stayed for a weekend on 5th and 6th November to celebrate my birthday and the location was ideal. The hotel is not up to the standard of previous visits to Mecure Hotels and certainly needs some TLC. Very old fashioned although the rooms were very clean and the beds comfortable. We had a few problems with the food;particularly dinner...
