On a noisy road. The room was reasonably clean, but in real need of an update. The sofa was disgusting, so I really didn't want to sit on it. Stayed 2 nights, convenient location, staff were friendly. Very much a run of the mill motel. A bit crampt, not someplace we wanted to relax or hang in. Wifi was very weak/intermittent, & you had to re-log in every 4 hours. Cheap though, so you get what you pay for. They did require a credit card (not debit card) imprint on arrival, which they didn't advise until the day before we arrived by email.

This hotel is a 1970s time capsule. it needs to be upgraded badly. Although clean, the building and rooms are old and dated and need renovation. they still had shower curtain which is no longer recommended for hygiene purposes. no air conditioning. a fan in the cupboard is provided if you need it. it is ok for budget accommodation. our room had the microwave and coffee-making facilities in the bathroom area separated by a brick partition. I am sure it is not recommended by hygiene standards.

Handy for us as a first and last night booking in Hobart on our recent trip . Budget priced for clean modest room , and included a lovely continental breakfast . Caters for late flight arrivals with 24hr checkin

We checked in on a Sunday around 4pm. Unbeknown to us the staff were well gone. There is a self-check in service and a phone with no one at the other end of it. Apparently, they had no details of mine, which was hard to believe. Not sure how I managed to make a booking without any details. Anyway, I was sitting on the chair in front of reception wondering how was going to get into my room or would I need to sleep in my car. We were fortunate that one of the other guests came past and they couldn't get in either. They gave us a number to call, which was the sister company. Thankfully this person was able to get us checked in. Did the manager come and welcome us the next day? Not at all. We stayed for four days. Such bad service. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.

Stayed 5 nights in one of the rooms at the rear of the property.
There are many other rooms at the front of the property.
The room was a good size and spotless. Great shower, fridge, microwave etc.
Comfortable bed.
Fantastic friendly efficient staff.
Good reliable free wi fi.
Light breakfasts are delivered to your room.
Unfortunately inconsiderate, noisy guests were up yelling until 3 am on our last night.
Overall a very welcoming and comfortable stay.
Very close to eateries and supermarkets.

We wanted a cheap motel for a couple of nights and thought we’d save money here. Well, heck. This place is fabulous. All mod cons, not a noisy street, and charming staff. I wish there were a Martin Cash Motel in every city I visit.

Stayed 3 nights on our recent visit to Hobart and couldn’t believe the facilities we had for such low cost compared to other motels and holiday park accommodations we stayed at. Breakfast packs were generous with bread, fruit juices, cereal, milk, butter etc. delivered to rooms and rooms were serviced daily. Although location is close to the main road, there was no noise. Usual tour operators don’t pick up from this location. The closest pick up point is Waterfront Lodge Motel on Risdon Street where there is plenty of free roadside parking. Hobart city is 10-15 minutes drive away.

This place is really dirty. This is an honest customer review. My partner and I decided to stay at martin cash motel a couple of days ago as we wanted to save a bit of money. But honestly, I wish i spent more money in a nicer place than this. The bathroom is dirty , the place is so old. As soon as you get in you are then met by this strong musky really bad smell. I don't know where it comes from. The sink, oh the sink is dirty. Over all i got the hibbie gibbies. And when we woke up in the morning, my partner and I are itching all over. It must be the blankets not properly washed. This place is the worst motel i have ever been in my entire life. You feel like you are in a dungeon when you are in this place. Not worth even $10 a night. I don't know how in the world some poeple here can give such positive review about this place.

This motel is old style so if you want a modern place to stay, go elsewhere. However the rooms are cheap, the city is easy to get too with a car, our room was clean, the managers are nice and let us check in early.
On the other side the fans in the shower don't work so when you get out water and condensation covers the roof, the tap water is brown ( local supply?) and probably the deal breaker for me was not the managers fault however the loud and drug affected guests that screamed and used the most disgusting language at 2 in the morning was concerning.
It made me question the area is this motel located in the slums of Hobart? This could of just been bad luck and we copped a bad night I don't know but be aware the area does not seem so great.
Once again you get what you pay for.

The room was very basic, dated and showing signs of age. If you don't care too much for ambience and you are budget conscious these things could be overlooked.

Staff were friendly, sheets and towels were clean, free parking. Paint work externally seems to be an attempt to brighten then place up. Nice dinner at the bistro in the pub nearby.

Recommend ear plugs, woken up early by rubbish removal and other guests moving up and down external stairs.

Shower had a bath base that was hard to get in and out of so if balance is an issue ask for disability accessed shower. There was nothing to hold onto so not suitable for elderly.
