Convenient location - walking distance to river, restaurants etc. Lovely welcome; large comfy bedroom with a baronial feel. Great breakfast - six types of homemade jam, four types of homemade cake, four choices of bread, croissants, fresh fruit etc. Only suggestion - breakfast is very sweet, so something savoury would be nice e.g. cheese, cold ham?

Stayed for three nights with my partner and our 18 month year old daughter. Lovely spacious room (with wifi) and every morning greeted in the dining room for an exceptional home made breakfast. Lovely location with great off road parking and a short walk to the centre of town with many great restaurants.

We stayed 3 nights at Maison Carrée during Easter 2.014, sorry it has taken me this long to send my review... France is one of our favourite nearby destinations, we go there quite often and stay in "chambre d'hôtes" since we find it to be a much more fulfilling and authentic experience than a hotel and after knowing a good... We stopped on the last night of our holiday, on the way to the ferry in Caen. As soon as we parked Madame Filiozat appeared with a very warm welcome and showed us to our lovely room, which was very spacious, with a modern version of a four poster bed, comfy sofa, TV and free wifi. The bathroom was very... More

Very nice, clean large rooms. The room we stayed in was ensuite and had a couch, writing table, TV, & large windows to let in light & fresh air. In the morning we had one of the best breakfastes ever in a B&B. The B&B is just a short walk from the town center. We will stay there again when... More

One of the problems for a property with so many five-star, faultless reviews is that it creates a certain expectation. Sadly Maison Carre did not, for me, live up to these. Possibly this as much the fault of hyperbolic reviews as anything. Or maybe this is something of a 'Marmite' property - you may love it or hate it. Unfortunately... More

We stayed twice here for 6 nights in total. Our two rooms were both well-appointed. Hot water comes quickly and the wifi connection is excellent. The breakfast is seriously exceptional. And one gets a great welcome.

We spent two nights at Maison Carre and its a wonderful Chambres d'hotes, in an excellent location for exploring the Loire Valley - a must stay! Our room located on ground level with its own entrance was large, very clean, with a big bed (very firm mattress) and sitting area, beautiful antique furniture and a lovely bathroom. The room &... This is the second time we have stayed here and, selfishly, are a tad reluctant to recommend it in case we can't get in next time! For us this is the very pinnacle of B&B in France (and we have stayed in literally hundreds on our cycling trips). The owner couldn't be more helpful, the bedrooms are vast and beautifully... More
