The food alone makes a stay worthwhile! But a stay in Montrichard just adds to the value. I stayed for the local Touraine Primeur wine festival, and the garaging feature enabled me to hide my daily purchases, until fully loaded!

Enjoyed our stay here, and will be going home tomorrow. Our room very good, bed comfortable, with nice bathroom and shower attachment. Food very good. Nice views over the Cher. Staff very obliging and helpful. Would be very happy to return anytime. Love the quaintness.

Attracted by the location we overnighted here. Received by a morose elderly man of few words - none of them being 'welcome'. Took a room at the front overlooking the river, which was overpriced at €78, but had it been high season it would have cost €120. Rooms at the back are cheaper. The room itself was acceptable and the large... More

A typical French hotel situated by a road and overlooking the river. Comfortable room, friendly staff. Restaurant in the hotel had a good choice of food and wine. Reasonable prices especially the wine. The breakfast was buffet style with a variety of pastries, fresh fruit and cereals. Would definitely stay again.

We stayed at this hotel on our way back home.We used booking.com and got a great booking with a double room overlooking the river. It was pouring buckets and the receptionist gave us brollies and allowed us to park outside the front door. We ate in the restaurant and was not disappointed. Great food and a wine to die for.We will... More

Great position on river front. Had room with river view. Pleasantly furnished, with a large shower / bathroom. Dinner was Ok, not great , waitress was helpful and welcoming , but manager needs some "hospitality coaching " He turned away four people from a half empty dining Room at 8 30 pm. Breakfast OK, but nothing special Rather expensive for... More

This has probably been a family hotel for decades, the room was as such. It had a very nice bathroom, we had splendid view over river Cher. Also appreciated the tv had both CNN as well as BBC World News. No tea / coffe on the room, pity. Wifi was good. And it had the best breakfast buffet of my... More

Whilst the view from the restaurant is impressive, the rooms at the back are a bit tired. The menu is extensive with some good choices but they seem a bit reluctant to deviate and offer gluten free options of the main dishes. There is no tea/coffee making facility in the room and the bar area is not particularly inviting during... More

On the river banks at Montrichard, the views are the hotels greatest asset. Lovely location. Functional reception & a lift was very welcome. Rooms are drab, though functional. Compact shower. A river view room would have been ideal. No complaints about the dining room or the food. One waitperson was efficient & flat out. Breakfast choice & quality was acceptable.... More

Despite reserving well in advance, we waited ages for someone to take our order, people that arrived after us were served first. Any attempts to catch someone's eye were ignored, and it took a good 20 minutes to order an apero. The food was good, but the menu has far too many extra charges, and ended up costing over 100...
