This is the most lovely and charming hotel in Amberg. Truly a gem... located just 10 walking minutes from the old city and situated inside the central city park. Breakfast has a nice buffet selection, but not a big fan of the restaurant otherwise... pricey and just lacks that special something... the taste of the food just isn't anything special.... More

A lovely hotel next to the river that winds into Amberg. Nice outside patio, clean and simple rooms. 3 klicks outside of town. It was a nice break from the hectic city stays of the rest of our trip through Bavaria.

Lovely hotel, a little bit far away from downtown but it is worth. Good rooms, good breakfast and a very nice restaurant. The building is old but inside is very ok and well arranged. Nearby there is a nice park to walk.

Found this hotel on booking.com. Friendly welcome at checkin. Offered a reservation for dinner. No problem with English. Loved the atmosphere and decor. Room was spacious, clean and comfortably warm. Heated floor in bathroom was great. Bed was very average, and minibar available on request. Decided to dine in and we were not disappointed with service or meal. Great waiting... More

The Drahthammer Schloss'l is a nice "landhotel" . At the backside of the hotel is a large park, perfect for a stopover, since there is not so much to do in the surroundings. The hotel has a rather formal restaurant, a beautiful wintergarden a "weinstube", a bar and large party accommodations. Personnel is very friendly. We had a very tasteful... More

The Drahthammer Schloessel Hotel is a family owned and run hotel, originally dating back 1000 years. As you drive into the, usually full, car park (they host a lot of conferences, weddings and meetings during the day) it really does look splendid and oozes character. There is a lovely outside patio area next to the river (don’t be surprised to... More

Stayed in this hotel one night on our way through the area, so we arrived pretty late in the evening and checked out before breakfast. But for that brief stay we were pretty impressed with this hotel. We enjoyed a glass of wine in the bar before turning in for the night and found the common areas to be cozy... More

The hotel is nice and romantic, but the area around is really nothing special. Everything looks pretty nice and the welcome at the reception is warm... The room is nothing special, no frigo bar, wifi working so so. The closest city Amberg looks pretty nice, but at seven pm nobody was around and all the shops were closed. ....something like... More

Fantastic hotel with lots of charm. Staff are very pleasant and Maro the barman is a star. Rooms are comfortable and well appointed. Breakfast is good and typically German but you have good choice. Center of town is about a 15 to 20 min walk along the river.
