How many times did you wish living in the forest? Well for me and my family - over a zillion :) I visited the Wild Brooke Retreat with by Big Bro, Sis in Law and my elder girlie. This place is right at the middle of the wild. With the river flowing in front of you (which was 80% dry... More

It's a nice retreat with the most basic facilities (still, better facilities than those enjoyed by the local villagers), with plenty of walking trails around. The caretaker is most pleasant and works hard to make the stay enjoyable. We also paid for Jungle Safari, but I would not recommend to take it from this place, as getting from and to... More

This is an ECO LODGE. Nestled deep inside buffer area on riverbed and at an absolutely stunning location. You can feel the wilderness, solitude and birdsong here. Please do not expect ac or tv here, however you can have nice cozy bed, running water, clean toilet and warm homely food. Have a book and just sleep. Mobile Signal is very... More

Wildbrook is for those who have the zest for outdoors and Nature. Its is located in the core area of Rajaji National Park on the bank of a river. To reach this place you have to drive through a river bed, which itself is an adventure. One has to be to experience this to know as to how it feels... More

I am in love with Wildbrooks and it's surrounding! The silence, the peace, the scenic set up of a wide river bed (which comes to life after June) and the deep green mountains of the Himalayan range, the chirping of many colourful birds, the occasional mooing of cows and the rustic but very clean cottages make a perfect setting for... This is a nice place deep in Rajai National Park (Chilla Range). Around 10 kms from the road into the jungle. Being there is like being close to the nature however there are a few things that can be improved upon. In front of the cottage, there is a stone wall boundary but that is not for all cottages. That... More

Dear Manas Thanks for taking out time to review our eco-lodge called Wild Brook in Rajaji National Park,Uttarakhand. This is correct that we are located deep inside the jungle where you reach driving through a riverbed in between the two hills by crossing shallow streams at 4-5 places. The location has its own charm of being away from so called... More

If you are looking for a bit of space, Wild Brook is a reasonably quiet retreat from the crowds and noises of India. It is very rustic. Basic room and basic bathroom, but the room was cool when it was hot and warm through the cool nights. Everything was very clean. It is about 45 minutes ride from Haridwar, most... More

We found this treat an ideal getaway for nature lovers who want to spend time 'far from the madding crowds' ! Its remote location on a village hillside that is surrounded by Rajaji national park makes it very peaceful. I visited this place recently, from Jan 14-16/2016, as a solo traveller. When I booked the cottage at WBR, I had not read the reviews except having seen the pictures and spoken to the owner of the property, Mr. Manoj Kulsresshtha(spelling???!!!!). This place is located in the Rajaji National Park, about 8kms in the forested mountains. Between the two forested... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Wild Brook is a eco-freiendly jungle lodge and is unlike urban hotels so we do not fulfill expectations of TV and air conditioners .You reach here through a river bed driving through Rajaji National Park's Gohari Range following ruts for about 8 Km crossing streams at 4-5 places. We are on solar energy and also on electricity partly now to run fans and CFL's. The accommodation is in cottages which are safe and have an attached tiled bath rooms. We do not have running shower bath. Minimal energy consumption is our policy. Our food is like home cooked meals cooked on slow fire and without thick gravies and targeted towards wellness The property overlooks a small jungle stream which is fed by spring water. Many species of birds are found here like Oriental; Pied Hornbill,Crested Kingfisher,Wall Creeper,Small Niltava and a Brown Fish Owl besides mammals like Wild Elephants,Panther, Barking Deer,Goral,Yellow Throated Marten. Our pholosophy to run this place is to let some money go n the local economy without altering the culture and environment of this area. The water is sourced from a mountain spring which is healthy since we do not advocate use of packaged drinking water at this pristine place. You can contact us for specialised birding tours to see bird species in this area. ... more   less
