Our 4th visit was as wonderful as ever. Walnut tree farm is only a few miles from Southwold yet so peaceful, the perfect place to relax and unwind. We stay in the suite called Nellie which is well appointed and comfortable with an enormous bed and luxury bedding. David and Viv are great hosts so welcoming and attentive yet do not intrude. Having stayed here we would not consider going elsewhere when coming to this area, our idea of perfect in every way. We left with 3 jars of honey from David's own bees to remind of our stay! The breakfasts are delicious and set you up for the whole day!

Room Tip: Nellie is the bigger suite but Hilda is brighter with it's own small terrace.

We stayed for two nights as a family, renting both rooms and couldn't agree on who had the better room - both being very comfortable and spacious. David went out of his way to make us feel welcome, even spending time showing our two teenage sons his bee hives and giving them a mini lesson in bee keeping. The breakfast was beautifully cooked and extensive and set us up for the rest of the day. Have just arrived home with a bag of gooseberries Vivienne gave us as we left, looking forward to turning them into jam which will extend the memory of the wonderful break we had!

From the wonderfully spacious room & comfortable bed to the delicious breakfasts & welcoming spirit it's hard to fault the cowshed B&B. David & Viv have created an oasis of calm relaxation in a beautiful corner of England. And far more importantly than the opinion of the adults, our kids (9&2yrs) loved it too! What a genuine treat.

This place is truly amazing. From the moment you arrive to departing everything is just so. David the host met us and explained the rooms and gave us local information needed for our walking with friends. Both rooms excellently furnished, equipped and spotless. Breakfast was delicious and between us over the weekend we tried the entire menu and couldn't fault anything. The home produced honey and other homemade preserves added to this. Attention to detail and service was faultless. A simple walking weekend with friends made memorable. We are already looking forward to a return visit. Well done David and Viv.

Our second stay in the Cowshed was just as wonderful as the first, having just spent two nights over the weekend to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Both rooms are beautiful, this time we stayed in Nellie but previously we stayed in Hilda. The rooms are beautifully decorate, well equipped and scrupulously clean; the bed is also very comfortable. Of the two rooms it's hard to say which is the best, as they both have different positive qualities, although both are superb. Hilda has a huge bedroom area, with a smaller private lounge with a two seater settee, but it has it's own private deck/patio which has a wonderful view of the setting sun in the evening. Nellie has a larger lounge with two armchairs in addition to the settee, the bedroom is smaller but is still large (Hilda's is just especially large), also it has a larger bathroom which is disabled friendly with grab rails. Both bathrooms are wet room style. Disabled access would be easy as it's all flat apart from getting onto the shared deck, for which ramp access is provided. Also, David the host really knows how to cook bacon properly, and in fact the whole breakfast is wonderful, with lovely honey provided from their own bee hives. If you're wanting to stay in the Southward area, this is a must!

We stayed for just one night in the Hilda room, just wish we could have stayed longer. Cowshed holidays is a total chilled out retreat, I don't think I've slept so well for ages - such a comfy bed. We dropped the car off around 3pm, with the intention of using our bikes to cycle to Southwold. David and Viv were really helpful, and gave us a map to use, so that we could cycle using bridle ways and avoid the A12. If you have cycles there are so many lovely places all round that you can get to easily, with no hill climbs. The room was lovely, with nice extras like biscuits to have with tea. We loved the private deck that Hilda has to enjoy a glass of wine after a day out. Breakfast was lovely, with a choice of cereal/ fruit, then a choice of different hot breakfasts - amazing scrambled eggs and smoked salmon. Thank you David and Viv for a lovely stay, hopefully we can do a longer stay next time.

Let me start by saying we were looking for somewhere in Southwold & stumbled across Cowshed holidays. On the journey up I was a little anxious as I hadn't really checked but we would be 7 miles from Southwold & I felt that may be a problem. However, we arrived to a very nice welcome on a farm in the middle of nowhere, I do like peace and quiet & this seemed ideal. We stayed in the larger of the two rooms & have to say it is delightful. Airy, comfortable & well equipped. (Kettle, cafetière, tea, coffee, hot chocolate & biscuits) Extra mugs/cups, fresh milk. The bed is enormous, & extremely comfortable. We had a great nights sleep so all that was left to rate was breakfast. Absolutely delicious. My favourite was the bacon, although it was all fresh & cooked perfectly. Nothing it seems is too much trouble & the owners are welcoming & attentive. The roads nearby are quiet with a few cars driving through but you are half a mile away on the farm track. I managed to go running around the area and enjoyed the views & surrounding countryside. I would wholeheartedly recommend Cowshed Holidays for a relaxing & comfortable stay

we rented both properties "Nellie and Hilda" for a two night family break to visit this part of Suffolk. The accommodation was just perfect, very clean and comfortable, with everything you could possibly need for that quiet break. David, the owner, was very friendly and provided us with a very well cooked and enjoyable comprehensive breakfast menu. We hope to return.

We stayed just for one night on a last minute break. Luckily we picked Cowshed Holidays from seeing the reviews on tripadvisor. Our room was large and clean and warm. Huge comfy bed. Really good full English breakfast with other choices available and a good choice of cereals and fruit. David was a great host, answering all my questions about the chickens and bees that he keeps, his homemade honey is really lovely and I got to try cut comb fresh from the hive, which was a first for me, and a delicious memory! A short drive to southwold this is a lovely peaceful place to stay, we would return if going back to this area.

Have spent a lovely valentine break at this charming B&B. David was a wonderful host who cooked tasty breakfasts for us. The food was delicious and very well presented. We were able to choose our breakfast the night before and also the time we wanted to eat. This is set in a remote farm with stunning views which is ideal for a relaxing away from it all holiday. The room was very clean and comfortable with a good choice of drinks available and biscuits every day. Highly recommended and we will be returning in the future. Would highly recommend a visit to DJ wines for a tasting and tour. We came home with several bottles of fruit wine, whisky and gin. Excellent value for money and well worth a visit.
