The hotel has been renovated to a high standard. Nice size rooms, comfortable bed, friendly staff. Convenient for the M1 and M18, thus suitable for an overnight stop. Restaurant pleasant with reasonable menu at reasonable prices. Good size car park. Breakfast was excellent, except involved a long wait - two customers had to forgo their breakfast as they had to...

I stayed here prior to a meeting in Rotherham with some colleagues. It felt like a bit of a Berni Inn as I approached but the staff were very welcoming and good fun! The rooms were large if a bit uninspiring, but the bed was comfortable, the shower was good and despite being on what the receptionist inferred was the...

Booked midweek for a Friday night stay - booked a larger room for £65 including breakfast - what a treat. The room (Lion Suite room 18) was absolutely beautiful - lovely wooden sleigh bed, chaise longue, marble bathroom. Coffee and tea making facilities. Booked into restaurant for evening meal - nice meal but atmosphere spoiled by family who decided to...

Visited for Sunday lunch and had the turkey and beef Sunday roast, how dissapointed we were, the beef was tough and the turkey not much better, the yorkshires well they just looked like a flat mess and tasted as though they had been warmed up in the microwave, and the roast potatoes well they had not seen any roasting as...

We love the style of pub, decor and type of food offered here. It is such a pity the quality of the food fluctuates so much. A dish may be pleasant and you recommend it or have it again next time and it disappoints greatly. Here is a round up of our last few visits: Steak is consistently tough. Beer...

We (11 of us, 3 under 7!) came for my husbands birthday on fri 20th march. I rang to book a table only 3 days earlier and Jude was more than accommodating, she asked me to provide menu choices the next day & what a fantastic move that was! It worked brilliantly! All staff were organised, lovely, and they seated...

Stayed here with a group of friend for a sporting event in Sheffield. Great location easy to get to city center and motorway. Clean rooms, friendly staff, good breakfast which the staff sorted early for us as we needed to leave for our match. Really good

I booked the room via hotels.com and got a really good deal - £60 for a Saturday night. As we don't know the area, I called the hotel a few days before arrival to get done idea of what to expect. The lady on reception was helpful and had good local knowledge of things to do, she was also able...
