Great campsite with a winding road with little discreet pitches on each corner. Easy to get some privacy and out of season it was perfect and quiet. Good, clean facilities and the staff where helpful, friendly and give you a freebie bag on arrival which is a nice tough. There were mozzies though for those who get bitten.

This campsite has everything. A variety of terrain from field/plain through terraced to individual hillside pitches. The staff/owners are so welcoming and helpful, the on-site shop is very well stocked with regional produce, everyday needs, camping equipment, and none of it over-priced, considering the convenience. If you need more then there is an Intermarché not far away. We don't have children, but I could see that it was exactly the kind of site that I would have loved when camping with my family as a child: there's the river, and an excellent playground with individual touches, sports facilities and a lot of exploration possibilities. Adults are well catered for too! We do have a dog and she was very happy, plenty of space and a river to swim in (not the same one as runs through the site, but only a short walk away), she also loved to go up the hill and take in the smells from miles (kilometres?) around. There are plenty of sanitation blocks around the site with WCs, showers, washing basins, etc, but don't forget to take your own paper. I can thoroughly recommend the steam train ride from nearby Anduze to St-Jean-du-Gard also the Cevénol museum in St-Jean-du-Gard and the Bambouseraie (close by, or a stop on the train). This site has been in operation with the same family for over 60 seasons, and I'm sure it is because they not only are doing things right, but are doing them a bit better each year. We'll be back.

I have stayed at this campsite many times - as a child with my parents, as a  teenager, as a young adult without children and several times with my own family when my children were young and again with both of them being teenagers.... It is the best place to spend our vacations and we enjoy the friendly and warm atmosphere and the fact that time literally stands still as soon as we arrive at this paradise on earth :-) Not because it is the best beach - it is atypical and you have to appreciate the river if you want to go for a swim (we like it a lot) - or the most luxurious site but simply because it is authentic, beautiful and quiet. It is clean everywhere and the family, who owns the place and works around the clock all summer, is very friendly and dedicated to making your vacation as good as possible. We only go on vacation in other places because we want to see and experience different places - however Camping Cevennes-Provence is the place we always return to - and gladly recommend to friends and family!!  Some teenagers might think that it is too quiet and yes, it is quiet. However does your kids enjoy reading, playing games, relaxing in the sun and playing tennis, going for a nice evening hike or a morning run they will surely love it here. Yoga by the river is fantastic. Hiking in the area around the campsite is perfect. The restaurant is ok. The shop has everything you need - including freshly baked bread.

Thank you very much Charlotte for all those compliments that touch us. Yes we are concerned that our guests find a real parenthesis by coming to us. Indeed families who are looking for a disco or a real kids club will not be interested in our offer, but they will come when calm and nature activities will be their priority! See you soon, you and your large family ;)
