Food was poor and just cheap. Rooms were poor for the price. No wifi. Too much noise and banging on the walls. Ding dong ditching all night. Facilities were pretty poor. Will not be returning. Thought it would be an enjoyful and relaxing stay but atmosphere was just cheap and depressing.

Quiet place, neat, non smoking hotel in the countryside. The manager and 2 ladies which helped us in the reception very friendly.they speech English,French. They show the breakfast area nice, clean, Bathroom was clean, the bedroom well set up, the mini frigo also, coffee and tea extra in the room. The only thing I disappointed was wifi very very slow. I used only for 1 hour. I don't complaint for anything else...I can recommended this place.. Margo-Belgium

I have stayed in this hotel twice and it's excellent. The staff are so friendly and will do anything to help! I loved my room it was huge 😊. We use it on our way home from a holiday as it's really close to the Euro tunnel.

We had a early morning crossing so was looking for something within easy reach of Calais and being only 35 minutes away this seemed ideal. Unfortunately we arrived too late for food, but the receptionist was very very helpful with some details of local restaurants. Our room was clean albeit seeming a little un-finished on the decorating front!! We had a double and a set of bunks for a family of 4, 2 x attached bathrooms with showers and sinks but only 1 x separate single toilet!! which seemed a little odd! This hotel is remote but close enough to the nearest town to be accessible, set in court yard setting with the rooms all leading off the court yard it is very charming and tranquil.

I've stayed here recently for two nights - one at each end of a holiday elsewhere in France given the proximity to the Tunnel. We picked the hotel given the ground floor facilities for my elderly parents who have limited mobility. This hotel met our needs perfectly. The rooms were simple but comfortable and clean, lovely location in the countryside. Also excellent evening meals - great value for such high quality ingredients. Special mention to Jeanette (sp?) who was so helpful to me and my parents. I will recommend to others!

First, I should declare an interest. My daughter works for the English firm that owns this hotel, which in part is used as a base to house the school tours to France that they organise. However, this has not influenced my write-up which fully reflects my own personal opinion. The Hotel (and restaurant) is fully open to the general public and apparently very popular. Deservedly so. It is set in a very quiet and restful wooded site in its own grounds (which include the old water mill that gives the hotel its name). It seems quite remote, though it is not far from the village/small town of Devres with its shops, bars, and restaurants, and is just off the main route to and from Calais to Paris and the south, and not far from Boulogne. This makes it an ideal and convenient spot for an overnight stay or a longer stay to visit that part of France. The hotel itself is very comfortable. Among other things, the rooms include facility for making tea. The restaurant serves a three course dinner menu with typically a choice of three starters, mains and desserts. I particularly enjoyed the fish soup, the beef, and the crème brûlée. There is a very reasonable wine list, with house wine available in glass or carafe, and other wine by the bottle, including a good Sancerre. There is also a small bar. The staff couldn't be more helpful, and friendly. (The chef was happy to make special provision for my vegetarian daughter). Altogether a delightful place and thoroughly recommended

Only an hour or less from the ferry so easy to get there.Took a group of 40 children to hopefully get a real taste of France. Rooms were good,I was really cold the first night until I realised I could turn the heater up. From then on I was toastie. The bed was one of the most comfiest I've ever slept in and had good quality pillows and duvets. The food served of a morning and evening was always of good quality. The bread was crusty and delicious. Didn't notice a coffee making machine which would have been lovely. You are out in the country so the only noise comes from the ducks who reside there. As we arose at 7am each morning the quacking wasn't an issue, however if I'd have been there for a relaxing holiday the early morning quacks would have got on my nerves. The hosts were really nice and we appreciated that they spoke to our children in French throughout our stay. Great place for a school trip . Thankyou to Laura and Francois

The hotel is in a great location, about a 40 minute easy drive from the Channel Tunnel. It is a beautiful rural location. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and went the extra mile to accommodate our two young children. Staff offered to set up cots for us and in the morning when we came down for breakfast they had already set up a table ready for us with two high chairs. The breakfast was excellent with a good range of options to which you can help yourself. Delicious fresh bread and pastries. We'll definitely stop here again.

Thoroughly enjoyable as it was the first holiday of this type. Kids settled in quick and were entertained at all times. A relaxed combination of family activities as well as couple time in a idillic french setting. Effortless to meet fellow families of likeminded people. Fed very well all weekend, kids came back more adventurous with food and independance. Would recommend to friends and look forward to the next visit!

Excellent choice and great welcome from Stephanie. I arranged the cycling party for five friends who stayed at the hotel for 2 nights mid-May. They loved the experience, the breakfast was great and relax. The rooms were all good and met my friends expectations (they are all experienced travellers). Most importantly the staff including our lead host Stephanie was charming and helpful. We also spoke to Caroline who runs the place with her husband / partner and we had a good conversation. The location is superb and very quiet. Warmly recommend it.
