St Patrick's Hotel in Xlendi is the ideal place to relax while enjoying nature, a variety of water sports, and meeting people from all walks of life. It is a modern comfortable hotel with a truly unique location just a few metres away from the sea. It has 64 rooms, of which 20 have a sea view, 25 have a valley view and 19 have a view over the charming internal courtyard. Rooms are all very attractive and spacious with a relaxing decor. Whatever the view the rooms are a real delight. The sea views are impressive, the valley views are captivating and the charismatic internal courtyard is the hub around which the hotel was built.

I would classify this hotel more for couples or families, but I went there as a solo traveler and it was fantastic. The hotel is perfectly located right in front of the water!! The room was spotlessly clean, facing an interior patio, a bit dark, but considering that I was spending all day outdoors it didn't bother me. From the moment I walked in, the staff made me feel very welcome, they helped me plan my days of exploring giving me tips regarding public transport and sites to visit around Gozo.
It seems that breakfast used to be buffet style, but because of Covid the choice is now English or continental (ham, cheese, boiled egg, toast...). Breakfast is served outdoors in front of the water, a pure luxury I thought.
There is a restaurant too for lunch and dinner which offered a 10% discount to guests who ordered food a la carte.
At the reception, they provide towels to go for a swim. The options are: a little pool upstairs in the rooftop where there are loungers and parasols and a beautiful view of the bay or literally going into the sea at the front of the hotel and swim to your heart's content!
I loved Xlendi, it is a quiet place with good restaurants, stunning views (walk to the tower and salt pans), you can explore the cliffs with a kayak on a calm day, enjoy the most beautiful sunset and get to know the locals and share their knowledge of the area.
Definitely I would like to go back and I would stay in Saint Patick's again.

I’m in the hotel whist writing this I must admit I was like others a little apprehensive . We did have family who had been to the village for a visit and had a drink in there so we booked. We did have a sea view which as I will explain might be the reason for the bad reviews and I’m sorry I won’t hold back.
There are in affect 3 types of rooms with different views and cost with in that there are bigger or smaller that you must understand.
There are rooms where as clearly stated have a inside view of the courtyard or hall you cannot see the sky.
Then you have rooms that look up the valley towards Victoria.
Then there’s sea view and boy is it a view the hotel is in the centre of the bay and looks out to sea the whole bay looks on them rooms.
There is the problem it’s called envy and I would be the same but it’s not a good nature and it’s one of the 7 deadly sins.
Wishing you had a sea view you can find faults and get very very picky.
There are no holes in sheets the rooms are cleaned every day the ceiling does not have black marks the beds are comfortable. There is a fridge and kettle and tea coffee and air conditioning.
The hotel is not a brand new so yes you can find a crack in a wall or ceiling but you can do that in every building.
If you want a cheap room and book it and are unhappy just be honest and try and pay for a ungraded room if they have one. Don’t try to put pressure on by writing reviews. I might be wrong. If so sorry.
The restaurant is not full by any means but all the restaurants in the bay are very good I’ve not seen a poor meal anywhere and prices are fair Gozo is not a expensive place . Like some islands
The people on Gozo are very good every and that includes the hotel.
This is not the most expensive hotel in the area by any means but that seaveiw is well worth a million.

Dear Mr. Stuart, I wisht to thank you on behalf of the team for spending some of your precious time to share your views and comments which are highly appreciated. As from yesterday the 26th October, we have introduced the only missing item from our menu and which other restaurants had - i.e. PIZZA. The feedback we are already receiving is overwhelming and very encouraging, confirming that the new kitchen brigade is doing a fantastic job. We do look forward to welcoming you back in the near future. Best regards, Joe Attard General Manager

Absolutely baffled as to how this hotel has received so many decent reviews. Our experience was hugely disappointing and one we will remember for all the wrong reasons.

We were first given the key to room 414, which was clearly filthy - hair in the bath, hair on the bathroom wall, hair by the bed, hair by the loo. The toilet was dirty, with traces of faeces around the toilet bowl. Absolutely revolting, as shown in the attached photos.

We immediately brought this to the receptionist’s attention, and were given the key to a new room. Not much by way of an apology though, they were quite dismissive of our concerns. A hotel with decent customer service would have at very least apologised profusely.

Room 212 was better and quite clean, although very much in need of an update.

The towels were rags, complete with holes and brown stains, and there was somebody else’s hair in the mini fridge. It is inconceivable that this is supposedly a 4 star hotel. Again, photos attached.

Breakfast by the sea was ok, and the waitering staff were friendly and the setting pleasant. We couldn’t help wondering what the kitchen hygiene was like, given the poor standards of the rooms.

Cleanliness in any hotel, at any time, should be a given - always. Cleanliness during a global pandemic should be outstanding, and hotels should be doing all they can to reassure customers that they are in safe hands.

We felt uncomfortable and annoyed throughout our stay. After three nights we couldn’t wait to check out and swore we’d never be back.

We were really unhappy that the biggest issue with this hotel was with basic cleanliness. Simply unacceptable. Please sort yourselves out, St Patrick’s.

We have recently returned back from a wonderful 7 day holiday at the Saint Patrick Hotel in Xlendi, Gozo.

When we arrived at the hotel the checking in was very efficient which is exactly what was wanted after the long transfer from the hotel via 2 taxis and a ferry.

The hotel was like going back in time and probably needed updating in areas, but the hotel was always kept clean and spotless by the hard working staff.

We booked a sea view room which I would advise anybody to do as the views over the bay were amazing. The balcony wasn't huge but enough for a couple of chairs and a table which we moved from the room.

Our room was very spacious and again kept spotless.

The rooftop plunge pool was never busy and there were plenty of sunbeds available whatever time of day you went.

We were booked in bed and breakfast and the breakfast was simple but there was enough choice so no complaints.

We had a couple of evening meals and a lunch at the hotel. The food was excellent. The menu is limited but the food was as good as anything else we had around the bay. It would seem people are not aware of the restaurant as much as other more popular ones around the bay but it is certainly worth a visit.

The hotel had a new manager in place who we found him very helpful throughout the holiday.

Overall the staff were very helpful and made our stay most enjoyable.

The hotel is perfectly situated in the bay and there are so many good quality restaurants a 5 minute walk away.

We are looking forward to returning to the hotel in the future.

A handful of critics will say this needs refurbishment. It has some paint peeling in places and may be a little old fashioned but I didn't give this a 5 rating by mistake !! We had a Sea View Room for a week in September 2021 and what a view it was. The room was spacious, well equipped and spotlessly clean. The breakfast was of a good standard and as much as you wanted. We went B&B but Full Board is an option. I'm pleased we didn't go Full Board though as the menu was limited and although the quality was good, you literally have around 10 alternative restaurants within a 2 minute walk of the hotel. There's a small pool on the roof but with easy access to the sea all around the bay and safe zones for swimmers cordoned off, this would be my recommendation. There's a large free car park at the back of the hotel if you hire a car but the regular cheap bus service which goes all over the island stops outside the hotel as well. The staff at the hotel were very friendly, indeed I find the vast majority of people on Gozo exceptionally helpful. There is also a boat and jetski hire service two minutes walk from the hotel if you are that way inclined and you can walk anywhere at any time of the night in total safety. I have no hesitation in recommending this hotel and resort.

Dear Client, Thank you very much for your review following your stay at the St. Patrick's. I can assure you and the many readers that after taking over in the last six months, the first thing I did was to address the Menu which you rightly pointed out although there was a limited choice as you stated. However, my decision was to terminate the then Italian Chef and I am now happy to state that we have a full kitchen brigade of locals and the results are already positive. A new Menu was prepared by our new Chef with very good feedback from locals and in-house clients. While thanking you once again for your time and review, we do look forward to welcome you back to the St. Patrick's in the near future. With best regards,

This simple, budget hotel is located directly in front of Xlendi Bay and has wonderful views of the surrounding hills and ocean from the restaurant, and some rooms. There is a rooftop pool with loungers and facilities for all to use, though it was never crowded. The hotel itself is quite dated, and our room was in need of a reno. Although they upgraded us, our room did not have a balcony. Honestly, I'm not sure it is worth the money to have a balcony overlooking the water, since the other services need attention. Our beds were soft and a little lumpy, with pillows that also need replacing. The room was clean and spacious enough for the two of us and also had a fridge and two windows that could open. The staff the helpful and friendly. There was a large public parking lot behind the hotel, and we were always able to find a spot. The breakfast was good for the coffee, but not much else. We ended up buying our own fresh fruit, since there wasn't any. The hotel is surrounded by restaurants and a public beach. I would only recommend this hotel if you are interested in the views and nothing else.

Came here for a week with Jet2 holidays at the beginning of October, Jet2 claim the hotel as a 3* plus. Unfortunately the facilities, quality of room and dining were of such a low standard that we requested a move mid week. The area resembles a building site with the upstairs terrace sadly neglected, the 'plunge pool/jacuzzi' was broken with holes where there once was buttons broken plastic pots once held plants which were now weeds and loungers along with umbrellas in a poor condition. Due to a storm on the first night and no fault of their own, the hotel suffered a boiler failure leading to no hot water for the next 3 days. We were offered a meal from the hotel as a gesture of goodwill which contained a shard of metal from a tin lid which wasn't ideal. Breakfast service was through a hatch in a perspex screen which resembled school dinner service and sadly the staff were poorly attired and trained. Our room on the 5th floor looked onto the courtyard area which in the brochure looked pleasant, sadly the roof leaked and mould spores were evident at the top of the walls. The room was poorly cleaned on a daily basis, tiles on the floor and wall were broken and a disposable contact lens was left in the sink plughole all week. At some stage in it's life this hotel would have been very nice in a pleasant place. The area now resembles a massive building site (as does a lot of Gozo) and it takes away any of the original charm of a beautiful bay.

We have not long returned from a great stay at the St Patrick's Hotel in Xlendi Gozo. The people of Gozo were very friendly with the hotel staff no exception. Elsa on reception gave us such a warm welcome when we arrived. This warmth extended to the service staff as well as those in the background (eg great housekeeping staff). Our room (sea view, room 403) was amazing. Great views directly out to the bay. We had a lovely private balcony but also enjoyed the spacious roof terrace. Our bedroom had all the facilities we needed and we did not experience any problems with the plumbing, hotel noise etc. We had continental breakfasts which were more than adequate. We had a few dinners at the hotel too, my husband particularly enjoying the rabbit dish. Other local eateries which we enjoyed were The Boathouse and The Front. We explored the island on the hop on bus, which was great as we didn't have a car. We also had plenty of opportunity to walk the cliffs and to Victoria. Fontana Cottage is worth a visit, the ladies doing their washing in the caves a real step back in history. Overall, we were sad to leave but do so with happy memories. We would recommend this island and hotel in particular to our family, friends and business colleagues. Thank you St Patricks

We have just returned from a week on the beautiful island of Gozo. We stayed at St Patrick’s Hotel, Xlendi. This was our third visit to St Pat’s, the others quite some time ago, and were pleasantly surprised to see it gradually being improved and updated. Over the years a succession of managers have let standards slip but glad to see new manage of one year, Mr Joe Attard is not afraid to spend some money and is gradually restoring the hotel to the standard it once was.
On arrival, reception were very efficient and pleasant, prior to arrival we requested a twin room on an upper floor which is exactly what we got. Well worth paying the extra money for a sea view, absolutely stunning. Our room although basic was clean, warm and spacious. A flexible shower over the bath would be better than the fixed head currently there. But no shortage of piping hot water. The room was not carpeted, which is what you would expect in a Mediterranean hotel, but had a table and chairs and good sized balcony.
At dinner the food was good, especially the pasta, with a choice of three starters, three mains and a couple of sweets. If there was nothing you liked then there was always the A la Carte menu to choose from. My only complaint was that the food was always served on cold plates so unless you ate rapidly it was cold by the end. Some evenings service left a little to be desired. Not enough staff on duty. A couple of nights there was only one experienced waiter/barman and one other from another department helping out. Not too much of a problem for us as the hotel only had us as half board guests, but in busy times would cause some problems.
Hot and cold breakfast was adequate, something for everyone, but like dinner, the plated were stone cold and the hot breakfast selection was at best only warm. A big no-no for me I am afraid. However, the manager is well aware of these problems and told me plans are in place to rectify as soon as possible.
A new residents lounge area has been created in and around the reception/lift area with easy chairs, tables and some more firm chairs. A nice place to sit and have a drink before dinner.
Overall, we enjoyed a lovely stay at St Pat’s, the staff are very pleasant, some who have been there for over twenty years. We look forward to returning again quite soon and can recommend.

Dear esteemed clients, Thank you very much for finding time to share your opinion on our services and product, which help us to improve and correct where required. I can confirm that we have embarked on revamp of the property, which you have noted and I do appreciate your comments. Next in line for a massive refurbishment is the restaurant which should commence in a short time while we are currently working on all our rooms and other public areas. This is complimenting our new set of menus (daily set menu, A la Carte, Pizza Menu and Snack Menu) being prepared by an entire team of local cooks led by Chef Gordon Camilleri serving clients from 07:30 up to late evenings served in either the indoor restaurant or at our Al Fresco at the water's edge in the middle of Xlendi Bay. Feedback from both locals and our clients is very encouraging. I am pretty sure that with the backing of the owners who have approve a very considerable amount of Euros to be spent on improving the property, we will all see a different product in a very short time for the benefit of our clients including repeat clients like you and the Team at the St. Patrick's. While thanking you once again for your time and comments, we do look forward to welcome you back at the St. Patrick's in the very near future. Best regards, J. Attard General Manager

The hotel is on the sea front and the beach is within 60 metres of the hotel so it is a short walk to get from the hotel to the beach. Note that the beach at Xlendi is not a large one.
