My husband and I have just returned from a short break here. It was fabulous but a balcony and sea view is essential really,.the rooms are quite small with only one chair so the balcony provides the chairs. We would stay again for a short break, the views are amazing over the beach and the port. The guy on reception was so lovely and very patient with our lack of spanish. The only complaint is you have to ring a bell on tbe door to be let in, which i1s a bit embarrassing if you need to keep popping back. Just a detail

Booked on a whim for 5 nights after looking at Trip Advisor... Fantastic clean traditional family run establishment..! Close to the beach, immaculately clean, very friendly and reasonably priced. Close to some great restaurants and Tapas bars. The Hotel has a very nice restaurant and Tapas also. I would be happy to stay here at anytime and recommend to all.
Bedrooms clinically clean, nice bathroom, comfy beds and the room even has a fridge..!
Thank you very much !

Stayed for 4 Nights with my wife celebrating our Wedding Anniversary and my Birthday and what a great find this was.
Lovely family owned Hotel right on the sea front.
Had a room overlooking the Mar Menor which was clean comfortable with wonderful sea views.
The family and staff could not do enough for you.
Just go and enjoy this beautiful part of the Real Spain!

Generally poor and slow service. The Russian salad tasted like the one from mercadona and was an astonishing €8. I have included a photo (which we had already started eating) - be your own judge of whether it’s worth €8. The ‘secret Iberian Pork’ came with crisps! This just seems lazy… which it felt like the whole meal was. The meat was so salty. It was like it was cooked in a bath of salt, and was then covered in salt. I actually ordered the same cut of meat from another restaurant recently so I hd a good reference point. My friends steak was tough. It was busy so we assumed it would be nice- perhaps they couldn’t keep up with it being so busy. The staff were working hard. Generally a poor experience though and I wouldn’t return. €50 for two for lunch with drinks (we did have a few soft drinks). I do think the focus is on fish in the restaurant (which we didn’t have and for all we know it could have been really nice). Possibly the most disappointing meal that I’ve had in Spain so far: it felt like a €10 lunch for €50.

Only a review of the outside café experience. It was dismal. We wanted breakfast. We asked for 1x tostada with tomato and 3 x tostada with jamon y queso. What we got was burnt tostadas 2 with jamon y queso and 2 with questo only. No olive oil offered and took table cloth away before even knowing what we were ordering! The waiter was rude from the outset, slamming our plates on the table and was just rude and ignorant. Will never go back

Stayed a week.Great sea views.Rooms comfortable and clean.Excellent wi-fi,fridge,air-con,hot water,lots of wardrobe space.
4 sea view rooms with balcony.A must.Small but lovely to sit out for drinks.Nice and cool in the afternoon from the hot sun.
24 hr desk.Need to ring doorbell to be let in.Can be a bit tiresome if you want to nip in and out but makes it secure as no safe in room.
Staff very friendly although don't speak much English we managed.
Restaurant only opened for lunches and dinner at the start of July and no menu or outside tables when we left so presumably only high season.Breakfasts quite adequate.
For a 2 star hotel very good.

Not the hotel's fault but worth noting if you are staying any length of time. There is a roundabout on the promenade opposite which emits christmas and happy birthday songs loudly which can become grating after a week

I stayed here for one night before flying out of San Javier which is actually an hour's walk away.
This is a lovely little hotel , Maria is charming and friendly and most helpful.
My seaview room with balcony was spotlessly clean and had every thing I needed including wall to wall sunshine for most of the day.although the beach is just across the road.
To add to this there are plenty off restaurants very close by most serving excellent Spanish cuisine.
I will be back

I've stayed here a few times and can't fault this hotel. It's small and cozy and above all the owner and staff are a credit to their trade. The rooms are pleasant and extra clean as is the rest of this hotel. If you have a sea facing room it's a delight in both morning and evening the sights you have first and last of day, it puts you in a great mood. Santiago has a lot going for it and you are never far from good places for food or drink, around the town. The ferry stop for La Manga is just across the road . For a good day out sightseeing you need a bike, you can get one from Bay Bikes just up the road. So make your way to Hotel El Marino ten minutes from Murcia airport and enjoy all it and the town have to offer . TomC.

Good sized rooms with air con and fridge and decent bathroom. Toiletries were minimum and towels a bit small but for the price and star rating this hotel is seriously good value for money. We had a room over the restaurant which had great views but I imagine could be quite noisy on a summer evening so maybe go for a room at the back unless you're a night owl. A really handy hotel for the airport if you have an early flight or arrive late at night
