Hotel Ribera in Santiago de la Ribera is one of the closest hotels to Murcia San Javier Airport.
The hotel is basic and does not serve food (even breakfast), but this is reflected in the price (50 euros per night in April with stunning sea views). There are plenty of places to eat within 2 minutes walk of the hotel. The hotel is located on the beach front and offers stunning views over Mar Menor. The rooms have excellent WiFi access.
The main problem is parking, as you have to try to find a place to park in nearby streets.

30 seconds from the water; 10 minutes from Murcia San Javier Airport. Rooms fronting
the sea have a full balcony. Stunning views. Rooms are well equipped and the Hotel
has a lift. 24 hour reception. WiFi . The Hotel has a restaurant and does lunch and dinner
at great rates. Santiago de La Ribera is the classy end of a great parade with Palm Trees,
and good restaurants all around. Friendly staff. I will be back.!!.

I Can Not Sleep In 26 Degrees C! That is why I always book hotel rooms With AC! The ignorant management AND staff at the Hotel Ribera ruined not only 1 night for us, but also the next day and night; without any sleep it is relatively impossible to enjoy or even function the next day!
I always travel with an indoor / outdoor thermometer, it usually makes hotel staff understand it when an AC is not working. Not so at the Ribera! -We had a late check-in, and around 23 it was pretty clear that the AC in the room had precisely NO effect. My wife went down to the front desk and showed the woman there a photo of the thermometer, which showed 26 degrees outside and 27(!) in the room. Instead of offering us another room (in the almost empty hotel), she “would come up in 5 minutes and FIX(!) it. We waited in suspense for the magic to happen. She showed up, and immediately could determine that the AC was Ok, just by holding her hand up towards the AC INtake.. I explained that it was NOT, and she then found a magic solution: by turning the thermostat wheel from our minimum setting of 15 degrees, to a setting of 17 degrees.. “Now OK” she said and left. I had given up arguing, it is impossible to discuss anything with a person who is completely ignorant, and it was past midnight. All night the room temp was 1 degree warmer than outside, by 06 in the morning it was as "low" as 25. I Did Not Get Any Sleep! A total disrespect for your guests! Shame!

While touring this great area I came across Hotel Ribera. What a pleasant surprise it's just minutes from the airport and seconds away from the beach. The hotel itself is better than a lot of other hotels who class themselves in a higher bracket. I found the staff most helpfull and eager to help. My room was everything that I expected and a bit more. I needed to hire a bike and again the staff put me in touch with the electent Bay Bike Hire . In no time Kevin was down to the hotel had taken to the hire shop just up the road, fitted out with bike, helmet and lock in jig time. That was all thanks to this great hotel . If it's a nice relaxing holiday you want why not come to Santiago De La Ribera and enjoy a stress free break. Roll up September when I'm back for 5 weeks. TomC

Once again I stayed in Spain at the Hotel Ribera ...
This hotel really does feel like going home ! The hotel is immaculately clean and always looked after by the staff.
When you come in from the beach and you really try not to get sand all over the place , you still do .... but the next day when you come back in from breakfast your room is back to being spotless once again.
The beds are comfortable and I always sleep like a log.
I recommend this hotel .

We stayed at this hotel for 6 nights in May. We arrived after 9 pm and were promptly allocated a room on the 6th floor. It had a balcony overlooking the sea as advertised and had this old fashioned Spanish feel. It was spotlessly clean, towels changed daily, staff very welcoming. The only promblem I had during our stay singing in to their WiFi (worked fine!) as I misspelled the password. There were fridge and a safe in the room and the most remarkable - a bath mat in the shower! It was a bit noisy sometimes because the room 601 was just opposite the elevator. Otherwise it was very quiet and the hotel was almost empty because the season has not started. After the weekend was gone we had a long and beautiful beach for ourselves. There are lots of place where you can have delicious and reasonably priced meals. We had occasional continental breakfast at the hotel and tapas (a beer and a tapa for 1.20 euros!). We also tried their "menue del dia" twice and it was delicious! For 8 euros each we had a salad, garlic mushrooms, I had a sword fish and my husband and friend had veal and we shared a bottle of wine. This was followed by desert as well! Incredible! Guests could have their meals or drinks outside of the hotel or inside. There are beautiful reastaurant, breakfast room and lounge. We can't wait to go back in September with my mother if all goes well. Thank you for a wonderful stay! Sorry we don't speak your wonderful language to thank you enough! Muchas gracias!

While I was staying at the Hotel Ribera I tried the food in their restaurant , which I had never done before.
I had beautiful Asparagus tips for starter, with a very tasty omelette for main course.
With a few cervezas to wash it down with whilst watching an amazing moon over the sea.
Bliss !!

We stayed in a triple room on September 13th 2014. The hotel has the best location! Right on sea front with spectacular views. The hotel itself is dated and basic but very clean with friendly staff. Check out was 12 noon but they kindly stored our suitcases all day free of charge. Beds were very hard and only one pillow each which was ok for one night. Only breakfast choice is toast and fresh orange and coffee or coffee and cake priced at 4.50 euros

Dear Evelyn, I am here right now, disappointing weather but you can always ask for the hair dryer at the reception. The stuff is helpful and friendy as usual. You can order a boiling element on amazon but it's a long wait. Good luck. Elena
