I was really looking forward to come here, as I heard so much about this place. It was a surprise weekend that I spent here with my boyfriend, we really enjoyed the little cottage, the scenery, loved the fireplace (it was a rainy, rather cold weekend) and the walks around the area. The staff was super kind and welcoming, showed us around and checked us in fast and professionally. For the price paid I would definitely expect a bit more amenities available or at least breakfast.. We received a kind welcome note and a bottle of their house wine, but it was a hassle for us to bring our own food for the weekend and prepare our meals... There are no options in the nearby to go out to eat really... Agai, we enjoyed our time here, the calmness and tranquility was well deserved but for this price I really would include some meal.

Józsi's cottage was our house. It was a present for me from my love so I did not even know where will we spend the weekend..and when I saw the house, the rooms, the kitchen, I was so much excited and happy. We are kind of people who enjoy holidays when there is no one else around us. Here we could be only ourselves. We ordered breakfast, so we got a fridge full of eggs, hams, fresh orange juice, milk, jogurts that was home made. The kitchen is fully equipped with authentic things. Everything is there. The bathrooms gives home made lavender hair conditioner, shampoo and bubble bath. The inbuilt fire place is amazing..we spent two hours sitting by it and enjoying a bottle of wine. Outside: lavender bushes, grapevines, hills where you can go for a short hike...and a stunning view. In Mór we had dinner at Fogadó Az Öreg Préshez restaurant. Great local place with fabulous food. During the Martin's days they serve fantastic goose feast. We will definitely go back every year.

These beautiful and charming cottages in a hamlet just outside Budapest make for the perfect weekend getaway or destination spot. If you are looking for an authentic experience with the flair of country gentry, the great, great grand daughter of Charles Dickens, Catherine Dickens has all the charm, wit and style that brings a special je' ne sais quoi to each of these very special cottages. Talking with her while there is always fun:) If you come in the summer you can see blooming lavender with dancing butterflies everywhere and take a swim in the pool. In the autumn we hiked in the rolling hillside that are said to have magical healing properties to them. Then we went into one of he local vineyard cellars and had delicious Hungarian wine and sausage experience! The fresh country air made me feel so relaxed and renewed. I have been a few times now and every time has been unique and so special. I highly recommend this to travelers, expats and locals:) one of my favorites! Thanks Catherines Cottages, we would love to come again!

We had an amazing week at Catherine's cottages. Having stayed 5 years ago on the recommendation of friends we were itching to get back here as the whole experience is amazing, its hard to know where to start. We have stayed in Jozsi's Cottage both times and the cottage is so well equipped for a wonderful stay. We enjoyed sitting on the terrace looking over the vineyard in the evenings and lazing in the hammock by the cottage amongst the vines most mornings, not to mention the amazing upstairs open plan bedroom and bathroom with a roll top bath and signature wine barrel shower! We also enjoyed homecooked meals on the night we arrived and later in the week which were incredible and since our last visit the Eco terrace has opened which has a great selection of wines, including homegrown wine which was amazing! We also had breakfast baskets throughout our stay which were brilliant. All of the team at Catherine's cottages are so hospitable and this is such an asset to the stay. They were happy to take our calls or texts for help throughout the week and Catherine was brilliant at providing tips and booking us reservations for a day out in Budapest. Her creativity throughout the estate is evident and she was so caring throughout our stay to make sure we had everything we needed. We spent the majority of our week relaxing, reading and sitting by the pool watching the paragliders above the vineyard. Idilic. The whole stay was fantastic and we hope to be back very soon so this beautiful part of Hungarian countryside and a week away from it all. Most of our hand luggage back was pottery from Edina, a local pottery artist, to remind us of special times here and for our family and friends to enjoy, not to mention stocking up on Catherine's candles and soaps too! Couldn't recommend more highly to enjoy the amazing place Catherine has created.

We were spending three nights at Catherine's Cottages. It was wonderfull, like in a farry tale. The houses and the garden are beautifull. The interiour is interesting and various. I think this cottage is the most beautifull in spring when the trees are blooming. The swimming pool was a bit cool so we skip it. Last day was a bit windy so many colourfull paragliders were flying above the vineyard.

My girlfriend and I were fortunate enough to be able to spend the weekend at The Nest cottage. We arrived at 8:30pm with candles lit everywhere, the fireplace roaring and with Orsi there to welcome us. The cottage was extremely cozy and very romantic. Everything provided to keep warm (fireplace and electric heaters), the kitchen full with the necessities (coffee, sugar, salt, pepper, cooking utensils), the bathroom with lavender products (body wash, shampoo, conditioner) and a very very comfortable bed. We had two terraces, one facing the cottage estate, and one at the entrance of the house where it was possible to enjoy a glass of the local wine. The hospitality was outstanding, many helpful tips provided as well as a booklet containing information about pretty much everything you would need to know. Orsi was also happy to take my calls anytime regarding any requests. The cherry on the cake was getting a surprise visit from Catherine herself as we were (a little bit late) checking out - I thought we were getting told off but instead we received a candle from her as a little gift, as well as a lovely chat about how everything got to where it is now. Overall my girlfriend and I had a fantastic time, we definitely recommend staying for a weekend and enjoying the local countryside. We went for a hike to the Bory Castle which was a quite long walk, however the scenery was beautiful and very peaceful. The staff were fantastic and I would not hesitate to book another stay at Catherine’s.

Aaah guys, thank you so much for your lovely review, we are truly touched. It means a lot and gives us all a real boost, so thank you. We try and make that experience of arriving at the cottages, a real wow factor, especially in the winter months. Fire lit, candles burning, lights on, the cottage cosy, warm, inviting and a welcome face to meet and greet you - these are small things, that make a big impact. You two were just gorgeous and I so hope we meet again soon. Catherine xx

Thank you so much. It always makes us feel motivated and proud when we receive lovely comments - especially about our area of Csakbereny and surrounding area. So many English travellers know about Budapest but less about our stunning untouched countryside, which has so much to offer, it is a hidden treasure waiting to be discovered. Thank you for visiting.

We recently held our wedding at Catherine's cottages and it was just the perfect place to do it. The location is absolutely beautiful with fantastic views and the setting is idyllic. Catherine and Lili were fantastic, helping us to arrange every detail to ensure all of our 60 guests were looked after and the staff worked so hard behind the scenes to make the whole weekend perfect. We will definitely be coming back to celebrate our anniversary for years to come, amazing memories we will treasure forever.

For 6 years now we celebrate our wedding anniversary at Catherine's cottages. We had the pleasure to visit with and without our children and stayed at Sipos ház, Eco house and Jozsi's cottage full of positive experiences, beautiful memories and left relaxed. The atmosphere, service, landscape and facilities are of top quality, including the very friendly and helpful attitude of the staff. During the 6 years we built friendship with Catherine as well and meet every now and then in Csákberény or on the Xmas market in Budapest. Our last stay in mid June at Jozsi's cottage was again amazing and we are already planning our next June stay for 2018. Our biggest recommendation goes to Catherine's cottages and suggest everybody to spend some beautiful time there as it is a lifetime experience.

Dear Peter and Zsofi, I cannot believe it is 6 years already (you haven't changed at all!!). One of the nicest treats each year is for me to catch up with our regular guests and you are up there at the top of the list. If we can make your anniversaries as memorable as the year before then we know we are doing the right thing. We love you guys and here's to seeing you both in 2018. Hugs all round, Catherine

Having just spent the weekend on a beautiful Thrive retreat in Catherine Cottages I can honestly say it was a little piece of paradise. Even though its only an hours drive from Budapest the moment you arrive you feel thousands miles away from anywhere. A pure sanctuary, with amazing staff, beautiful accommodation and breathtaking views. A big thank you to Catherine. I willie back.
