We stayed at Moonfleet Guest House for two nights for our minimoon. The building is absolutely stunning and decorated in a homely quirky way. Our room was beautiful with a gorgeous copper stand alone bath. The whole place was spotlessly clean, the bed was so comfortable, there was a large smart TV and bubble bath was also provided. The bar area is fantastic with a cosy log fire and a good selection of reasonably priced drinks. Helen was a fantastic host. She ensured that we had everything we needed. The cooked breakfast was second to none, with the added surprise of freshly baked muffins. Thanks for a wonderful stay Helen, we hope to visit again in the near future.

A great place to stay. We only booked as couldn't find anywhere in Saltburn that met our needs and glad we stumbled on to find Moonfleet. Nice clean, tidy rooms with a great host. There is a bar with pool table and darts, parking out front and the most amazing breakfasts. You must try the granola yoghurts and take away a muffin! Would love to return.

I want Helen as my new best friend! Seduced by photos of the big copper bath, we booked the Jeremy Fox room at the top of the house. Having a G&T in a deep copper bubble bath while reading a book I picked up at Barter Books the day before was pretty much heaven. The bed was extremely comfortable and the bed linens absolutely lovely. I do love good quality cotton sheets! The room had great character and charm and the shower room was stylish and well appointed. The house itself in in the middle of village in tiny, steep valley about 4 miles from Saltburn. It's a lovely old building and is full of curios. There are terraced houses around it and a small beach protected by a jetty about 2 minutes drive away. Helen makes a hearty cooked breakfast and is extremely accommodating. Nothing was too much trouble for her - a fellow guest said Helen ironed the dress she needed for a wedding after it got creased while travelling! Last of all, a tray of warm home made muffins apopeared "to keep us going through the day" - a lovely treat. I will definitely be back.

Helen is a wonderful host, and nothing was too much trouble. Moonfleet is beautiful and the room I had was lovely. The breakfast was delicious and perfectly cooked. The granola and fruit with greek yogurt was the nicest ever. Helen had baked chocolate and banana muffins which I was able to take away. The best muffin I have ever tasted Thank you so much Helen for everything. I will be back 😊👍

Stayed at Moonfleet for a week and really well looked after by host, Helen. Excellent well cooked breakfast with lots of options. We had a different type of freshly made muffin to take with us each day as we explored the area. Lots of beautiful small bays to visit. We did days out to Runswick Bay, Staithes, Robin Hoods Bay, Saltburn-By-The-Sea and Whitby. Great to get back each night to a comfy room and warm welcome. Thank you Helen 😀

We stayed at the Moonfleet recently while walking the Cleveland Way, for which it is perfectly situated. The room and rest of the hotel has a unique and interesting decor (check out the Congreve clock), and the deep copper bath in our room was much appreciated. Delicious breakfast, and we left with warm muffins for our lunch.

Myself and six of my extended family stayed at Moonfleet this weekend. We had a really great time. The historic building is such a wonderful and interesting place. All the rooms are welcoming and make you feel calm and snug. There are endless interesting artefacts, ornaments, and decorations to investigate. The bar is brilliant with log fire, pool table, darts, fussball table, and lots of great drink choices. The owner is such a warm and wonderful person. She made us all feel completely at home and was so lovely. Breakfast was delicious. The cooked brekky was awesome and the fresh fruit & Greek yogurt was bursting with freshness and flavour. We were also given homemade chocolate muffins which were really delicious - and that’s amazing as I normally don’t like muffins. Just down the road is a lovely beach to the north of the jetty and within very easy walking distance along the Cleveland way. There is car parking at the rear of the property. Loads of great places within a short journey including Whitby, Saltburn, Sandsend, Hinderwell, Robin Hood’s Bay, Staithes, and many others. These places give loads of choice for great food, great beaches, and walks with stunning views. What a great time we had. Thank you to Helen for being the perfect host. We will be back again in future. Five stars out of five.

Helen & her pooch Louie are hands down the most perfect hosts. The guest house is full of quirky, interesting decor & treasures. It has everything you need; great atmosphere, comfy beds, substantial perfectly cooked breakfast, fresh coffee and freshly baked muffins every day. There's a bar with a roaring wood fire, pool room, beer garden & fire pit too. A party of 12 of us stayed here and every one of us were so well looked after so well we all wanted to take Helen home with us. We will most definatley return, well worth every penny. I'm missing Louie already. 😍👍
