Beautiful, clean room with large sumptuous bed. Peaceful location. Friendly staff. The spa was so relaxing- loved the little scented salt bags - really enhanced the experience. Little details like the umbrellas available to use much appreciated. Will definitely return.

A great place to go to get away from it all. If you are looking for peace and quiet, this is the place to be. Close to some wonderful walks and great pubs along the way, this place has a great deal to offer. A beautiful resort with hotel rooms as well as lodges. We stayed in a room that was away from the main part of the hotel and was lovely and big and finished to a high standard. It was very clean and very well maintained. The room was lovely and warm, something that is rare in hotels these days. The bed was very comfy as well as soft pillows. The hotel restaurant was in a separate building away from our hotel room and consisted of a beautiful restaurant with soft seating areas around the bar. The food was absolutely fantastic, and of a very high standard. Breakfast was buffet style and held in the restaurant area. The only thing I would mention is that if you go for breakfast at a popular time in high season, it is a bit like a bun fight. I think the restaurant could be arranged better in terms of the breakfast service to ensure that the breads and pastries section is not on top of the main hot breakfast options. It would also have helped if people had just not been milling around a busy area! All in all a great place to stay with lovely friendly staff. We will definitely be back!

This is a lovely hotel situated in beautiful countryside. There is ample parking and our check in was smooth and easy. The room was warm, spacious and welcoming. The bed was very comfortable and the shower good. Breakfast was superb with so much choice in lovely surroundings. Easy to access walks at your doorstep and the lovely Britannia Inn 10 minutes walk away

I’ve stayed at langdale many times over the past 15 years or so and in my opinion it has gone downhill. I appreciate that we now live in a so called ‘woke society’ but i do object to the situation particularly in the restaurant when the opinions of a minority section of the clientele is dealt with at the expense of the majority plus the pool and jacuzzi are shut for repairs really disappointed

Stayed in a Lodge this time, but previously stayed in Brimstone probably the best hotel in the Lakes, but Brimstone prices do reflect its quality. Ordinary Langdale rooms less expensive. We own a timeshare Lodge, but good value for renting for a family and a few Lodges usually available to rent from owners most weeks of the year if booked well in advance.

Two night stay in this wonderful place. Hotel room was super nice, bit small room itself, but bathroom WITH jacuzzi was huge :-) It's a super beautiful and well design, quite large hotel area with lodges, hotel rooms, spa, restaurant etc. Looks amazing both at daylight and at night. And the absolute sugar on top was the spa...maybe one of the nicest ones I've been. With several different steam rooms, multiple different style saunas etc and beautiful areas of relaxation, I just did not wanna leave. The only thing I wish they would improve was the breakfast..lovely place and amazing nature and beauty around (even the view from breakfast room was sooo nice..) you would just hope something healthy and fresh on top of the traditional english. Overall just loved the stay!

This was a weekend away as a couple to see some of the lakes and to relax away for the daily norms. We stayed at the Langdale Hotel and Spa for two nights. The booking process was straightforward and easy to follow on their website. The best deals were definitely going direct with the hotel. I chose to stay in a signature room, which had plenty of space and had recently been renovated. Our room was found in the main block opposite the Stoves restaurant and Brimstone Spa. The room had calming decor and a warm feeling about it. We arrived after 7pm on a Friday night, so we decanted the luggage to the room and chose to walk down to the onsite pub on the grounds- Wainwrights. The walk took 5 mins from the main entrance and was easy enough to find, even in the pitch black! We were welcomed by friendly staff and a roaring fire. Typical pub grub on offer here, but delivered very well. As expected in Cumbria, the portions were large. I enjoyed a variety of local ales and my wife the Malbec. We made merry and wandered back just before closing. A great night. The Stoves restaurant on site, provided excellent service and food for both breakfast and dinner. The wine room has a warmth about it that brings a lovely ambiance whilst eating. Breakfast was superb and wide ranging in choice. You can order eggs done various ways direct with the serving staff, or simply tuck into the great selection of local Cumbrian Sausage, bacon, mushrooms, tomatoes etc. However if you prefer continental that’s also covered by a variety of cereals, milks, fruit, yoghurt and pastries. The staff were extremely helpful and attentive at all times. Dinner here was also on point again with a good selection of choice. A top draw facility. On the Saturday morning we got the walking boots on and headed out to conquer Silver How on route to Grassmere. Again the route was literally, left out of the main entrance, passed the cottages and turn right to head up over the fells. The route was straightforward but tricky in parts. Two hours of easy walking to get to Grassmere then 1 hr back as that was easier terrain. We stopped in Grassmere for a bite at Freda and Rays. We got back to the hotel for 14:30 after setting off at 10am. This included a nice bite obvs. We were booked into the Brimstone Spa for 15:00, so just enough time to freshen up and then hit the relaxation button. The Brimstone Spa was yet again excellent. The staff, the facilities were superb. We had the 3 hr thermal journey which included a food platter. Vegetable, meat or fish options. You can go 50/50 too! This was larger than expected and delightful with a glass of Malbec. The spa had a variety of steam rooms, saunas and relaxations areas. The pool was great with an indoor outdoor option. There was also a fire raging outside so you could take a book and chill under cover should you wish, next to the Finnish sauna. If you are a fan of spa breaks, put this one on your list. We thoroughly enjoyed our time there and would have no issue in returning to such a great hotel and spa. Thank you to all the staff we encountered on our stay, you were all fantastic. 👏🏻

Stayed in one of the lodges. Was comfortable & clean. Decor a bit dated. The estate was well maintained and peaceful and we enjoyed the pool. Didn’t try the spa. Was disappointed that no basics (a few tea bags, sachets of coffee, washing up liquid) weren’t provided - I think it’s pretty standard that most self catering cottages do provide a little welcome pack. But staff at reception did kindly get us a few. Reception staff were also helpful with tips for local walks. Ate in Stove one night, was OK, a bit on the expensive side and our food arrived within less than 10 mins which always makes me think it’s all just being reheated. The desert (lemon tart) was underwhelming, clearly bought in. But have to say restaurant staff were great, friendly and attentive. Would certainly return.

My partner bought me the most wonderful Xmas present , of a night here, staying in room 156 in the hotel. I’ve been blessed enough to have stayed in the lodges from their creation in 1982, so this was a really special present. The room itself was amazing, with its own separate foyer area, perfect for Lake District weather and clothing, and then a fabulous huge bedroom and bed. All the furnishings of the high standard you’d expect Food and drink in Stove was lovely too Shame we didn’t get marooned her ( Just be aware, apparently there’s a 17 week refurb of the pool and communal areas taking place soonish…..so check when you book )
