We had the best holiday here at the Aliathon Resort. We stayed in room 1157 which was a great location with views overlooking the pool and the lighthouse. We were equidistant between the breakfast/lunch and dinner restaurants which all had amazing staff and food throughout our stay. My daughter took a particular liking to Tony, who was wonderful with her. (See photo) All the staff were so friendly and helpful both hotel and the entertainment team. There were plenty of activities to entertain us all, although because of the time of year the water was a bit cold to spend all day in the pools. The children’s splash pool was a big hit with my daughter (2.5) and by the end of the week she was confidently using it all on her own, under close supervision! The beach was short walk and was clean with some lovely rock pools to explore. If I had to say anything against the holiday it would be the cleanliness of the room. On our last day I was checking everywhere to make sure we left nothing behind and under the beds were full of dust balls and the bathroom could probably do with a deep clean. We are not the type to return to a place we’ve been, but we would definitely recommend a family holiday here.

Hotel's Favourite
******LONG POST***** we have just returned from our 2 week stay at the Aliathon resort, before we went I did email the hotel requesting a pool view, I even asked for certain rooms 1157 or 1160, I did get room 1162 in the fishing village kids den which was a perfect location, facing the lighhouse (picture attached). All the kids dens are on the lower floor but they don't all face the pool. we had the icecream kiosk outside our door which opened whilst we were there, the swap box was also next to this, we got lots of inflatables out of it when we arrived. we were 20 second walk from the restaurant where you have breaky & dinner in the ionian Building. Tea time is in a different restaurant behind the fishing village. When we arrived we were given a map and taken to the room on a buggy, they give you a letter with a barcode on to scan to book the greek & mexican or there is a booking screen in reception, they didn't really give us much information about the resort, we had to find things out for ourselves, towels are collected from the spa where the gym is, they will change these everyday for you. The snack bar by the main pool is really good restocked all day and open until 6pm. sunbeds- our room was so close to the main pool I did go out in my pjs to grab beds-people reserve beds from half 5-6am mainly the first 3 rows, some mornings we would leave the room at 9ish and there were still beds available but further back, if you did struggle get a bed the manager would always go and find you some so don't worry about getting them. our room was dated but it was huge, our daughter (age 5) had her own room with 2 single beds we pushed them together, there is a door onto the balcony from her room we kept the curtains shut so she didn't know. there is loads of storage space, kitchen has a microwave, plates, cups & cutlery it felt homely. I took my own sponge and fairy liquid. there is also doors from the main bedroom. There isn't much to do outside of the resort, the beach is a 2 minute walk but we found it was all hotels and had to walk 15-20 minutes until we found somewhere we could actually hire beds, there is some nice places to stop for a drink & Food. The waterpark is 10-15 minute walk from the hotel and definitely worth a visit our 5 year old was able go on loads of rides. there is a bus stop opposite the hotel which takes you to the harbour, we spent an afternoon & night down there ENTERTAINMENT (by the splash pool)/KIDS CLUB (behind spash pool) the reps work really hard, all day and night. we didn't watch it every night, some nights we sat in the Ionian bar playing cards or we went off site to the wild horse pub but it is brilliant for the kids, my little girl went about 6 of the kids clubs, she kept asking to go and met lots of friends, you don't need to book on any of the kids clubs, you just turn up and sign your child/children in, make sure you have registered them on the HV app before you arrive, she also did the sweetie party and chocolate party these were 8euro each but only on certain nights. They also provide free HV tops save your little ones ruining there clothes. There isn't much for the teenagers to do at night, we saw groups sitting around the main pool, one night we had a group outside our room, they did bang on our door a few times and run off!! I rang reception security come and it didn't happen again. HV FITNESS/GYM the HV app also has fitness classes on with Tabby, again you just turn up for these, they are in the room above the gym it's nice and cool. I did 3 of the classes bootcamp, bums tums & HIIT loved them all, the gym is also nice and cool with loads of equipment. Tabby also does aquafit in the main pool which we did a few times. She goes for runs 8am Tuesdays for any early morning people. the app does play up sometimes you have to close it and re-open so the classes show up. MEXICAN/GREEK RESTARAUNTS We had the option to book these 4 times with going for 2 weeks, you need to book these as soon as you arrive, I did it about 2 days after and could only get in the Mexican one night.. we managed get in the Greek twice.. but after the first visit to the Greek we didn't return (this is by the main pool) they brought us the menu and didn't even ask if we wanted a drink, our food was horrible. I had a prawn salad it was literally 6 prawns put on top of pasta which was swimming in water, my partners chicken was dry we ended up leaving the food. there was also cats walking under our table which I didn't like. The Mexican was just outside the resort, the food was gorgeous, the staff were really good and served us really quick just a shame we could only get in once. *DO* *Take water shoes- we used them for the boat trips, beach and waterpark, the floor on the resort is boiling hot. * take your own own bottles, we had some from b&m (photo attached) the bar staff will fill these with anything you want, it also kept the drinks cool for hours. *we also took 3 pint glasses and used these at night, the paper cups from the hotel are rubbish. * take plenty of suncream, but don't worry if you don't have enough we got some out the swap box and the supermarket isn't that expensive. * Download the HV app before you go and register your child/children before you go, the week before you can see all the activities that are on. * Book the Cruise vision boat trip- we did the half day trip 11-3pm it was amazing, saxophone player, DJ, all inclusive, BBQ & slide for the kids. DON'T * Book the baths of aphrodite cyprus if you have young kids!! we were told it was a 4 hour trip but it was actually 9 hours. you only see one waterfall what you can't even go in, then you go on a boat to the blue lagoon. we got back at 9pm. STAFF/PEOPLE The staff were amazing, reception, reps, restaurant staff especially Irene she was lovely, she always made an effort with us, my little girl even brought her a bracelet on the last day to say Thank you, she took our cases to the coach when we left and waved us off, the MANAGER is brilliant, i have never seen such a happy manager at an hotel before, he was always about on his scooter joining in with the entertainment you can tell he loves his job. He also waved us off and come on the coach to say bye when we left. we met some lovely people everyone seemed friendly, we never come across big groups of people drunk or making too much noise. there were some days when there were people and kids without wristbands, the manager would always ask them to leave. would definitely return!! one last thing, there is cats (which Im scared of) we had 2 on our balcony one morning if you ignore them they don't come back, some people will feed them all holiday. I never saw them at breakfast time which people have said on previous posts. anyone going to this hotel will have an amazing holiday.

Where do I start? This hotel had all the necessary ingredients for a holiday village vacation. The facilities are wide reaching, up to date and the location is superb. What really makes the hotel outstanding is the staff. From bar, dining, housekeeping and entertainment all are ideal at making you feel welcome. In particular Elena Ioannou the Front Office Manager is very professional and the hotel are fortunate to have her on board! Will my family of 6 go back? We are already making those plans. Well done to the Aliathon Family!!

This our third holiday village experience, the first in Cyprus, prob the best so far. Have to say, there’s very little not to like. We stayed in the more recently built part of the grounds in the main building and really liked the room. Can’t fault anything, the hotel staff were great and the holiday village crew just brilliant all round. Have to give the football academy chaps a big shout out, trev and stu.. they do an abs amazing job. My boy just recently taking to football (just turned 6) is now footy mad and thought the sessions were brilliant. They managed to incorporate drills for all diff age groups and levels, keeping it fun whilst also teaching many of the fundamental technical and communication skills needed for his level.. so impressed. Clearly they have coached at a higher level and enjoyed the stories and footy quizzes throughout the stay. Such a good holiday (2weeks), and we’re already talking about booking next year. One bad day of weather in two weeks with on avg 25 degree heat was just perfect for a late March early April break. Want to give TJ a mention too (on the entertainment staff).. a great MC and person in general. Really enjoyed his quick witted quips during the shows and all round chat throughout the stay.

Our week was just completely wonderful. We stayed in the fishing village and were lucky that our building was right next to the ice cream parlour and the pool. The rooms are relatively basic in the fishing village (though each has a little cooking area, nice bathroom and balcony) but we spent so little time in them that it really didn't matter. - The staff were so friendly and welcoming and the manager always greeted every one with a smile. - Breakfast and lunch in the hotel restaurant were lovely and everyday there were 'specials' to change it up a bit. - Dinner in the main restaurant was lovely and again each night there were different options along with the standardised choices. - We ate in two of the a la carte restaurants and this was again lovely. - Snack bar was great and I thoroughly enjoyed my Caesar salads, smoke salmon wraps and chicken baguettes! - Ice cream on tap for the kids was wonderful. - Gym was great for me. Didn't use the spa but it was in the same building as he gym and looked lovely. - Splash park was great, my kids were probably just a bit old for it. - kids club was fabulous and there were different activities each day and the staff were amazing. Same goes for the evening entertainment - different every night and just the right amount of cheese. there were also a number of additional activities available including body zorbing, paddle boarding and a pool inflatable track. Honestly just an absolutely amazing holiday.

First the people who work here are the friendliest and most professional you will find. From Raphael driving the luggage cart to Martyna, the new management trainee and everyone in between. All so easy to talk to and all seem genuinely happy in their work. Great to see the hotel's management walking around and talking to guests. Really helps set the tone. The fishing village feel is excellent. Lots of 2 story accommodation units. Big rooms with big balconies, comfy beds and a full kitchen. The restaurants are well managed by the team who great you , show you to a table and remember your preferences. Plenty of food options, local and international and no way anyone can go hungry. Especially with a snack bar serving pizzas, chips, sandwiches, fruit and more from breakfast to evening meal time. Word of warning about the a la carte restaurant s. The portion sizes are huge. Delicious but very filling and a great addition. The whole complex is vast and close to the beach, 2 miles to paphos Harbour and has a very reliable bus service on the doorstep. €2 per single journey. Plenty of room by the big pool and opportunity to get away from the music there too. Had a couple of issues with accommodation that were very swiftly dealt with. Alternative accommodation being offered immediately before fixing things within hours. Personally, I'd prefer the music to be quieter and the afternoon playlist a lot more varied. Was looking forward to the high ropes aerial adventure but it was out of action all week. A disappointment but so much else to do. Mini golf and go karts just a couple of minutes from reception . All in all, a great week.

Travelled with our three young children and three older relatives last week. A couple of issues on arrival. I had paid to upgrade one room so that there were two separate sleeping areas for our mothers (one in the bedroom and one in the living area). When we arrived, there was just one double bed in the bedroom. Not appropriate for them. We booked through Tui so not sure where the communication went wrong. The staff were happy to help but changed the set up to single beds in one room, which was still not ideal. In the end we moved one single bed into the living area ourselves. There was also a problem with the lock on the door, but again, staff were happy to assist and sent maintenance around. However, these teething issues did not stop us having an amazing experience. I will summarise below: - visibility of managers on resort. Yiannis was there every day, as was Tony. They greeted all guests as they entered the restaurants, remembered where particular families liked to sit. Yiannis even rode around throughout the day checking in with people, and boarded our coach when we were departing to say 'goodbye' to everybody - all staff worked so hard, long hours each day, yet always with a smile. They valued the children. Soula, Elena (to name only a couple) took time to find us during breakfast and dinner to interact with our girls. And it was genuine, real warmth. Not forced or just 'part of the job. Staff went around on golf buggies to give lifts to people in need of support e.g., driving us and our luggage to our rooms on arrival, and driving our elderly mothers to the supermarket one day. Bar staff were always pleasant too - loungers always available, although will obviously get busier - cleanliness of pool and dining areas was commented on by several people in our group - maintenance of the grounds. Beautiful flowering bushes, herb garden, fruit trees. The resort smells AMAZING! - we liked the village look and way the fishing area has been designed - Food choice in the buffet was vast. They had theme nights and a very good bbq with different meats. Quite pork-heavy but we liked that. We visited the a la cart Mexican one night and portions were very generous - Holiday Village reps were great. The entertainment programme was packed and varied. They invited people to take part but were not pushy. They appeared motivated and happy to be there despite long working days. You'd see them in the pool entertaining the kids one minute, then running kids club the next. And during the evening they were back to encourage the crowd during the stage performances. The creche staff were also super and we thought €12 for two hours was very reasonable. Our girls did not want to leave, in large part due to the HV reps. We thought the shows at night were varied and although not all to our taste, something for all. Our older relatives enjoyed rock ballads one night whereas we enjoyed the rave night We tend to go somewhere new each year, but Aliathon had a lot on offer to tempt us back in future.
