Knockderry House exceeded our expectations from check in to check out. However, there was one isssue after we left that cost us 150 pounds. I’ll address that later. This place is so charming and cozy. The setting, right off the Loch was spectacular. The staff gave us incredible service and I believe it was Ben that spent so much time tending to our every need and want. He gave us so much information and history on the house. He lit the fire if we were getting chilly, while having our drinks in the sitting area. We had Easter dinner at Knockderry, it was delicious, well presented, and the price was very decent for the food that we received. The rooms were warm and cozy and the beds were comfortable enough. We received a charge of 150 pounds on our credit card two days after checking out, so I emailed to see what it was for. They explained to me that there was a hole in the wall after we checked out. They sent pictures, and I agree that the hole was not there when we checked in, but it was also not there when we checked out. It was over in an area that we didn’t use, we had no luggage over there. There was a small desk and chair off to the side, and the hole is aligned with the back of the chair. So it seems as if the chair is what put the hole in the wall. We never used the chair, and that size of hole we would have definitely noticed if we were to hit it as it would have been quite loud. I understand that they have to charge us for the damage but I am sure that staff accidentally caused this damage. With this being said, I still give Knockderry a 9/10 because we absolutely loved the place.

We had an overnight stay at Knockderry and had the tasting menu in the restaurant. The sun was shining and we sat out on the terrace having drinks it was glorious, the views over the loch were fantastic. We stayed in the library suite which had amazing panoramic views of the loch and was very comfortable. The tasting menu paired with wine was fabulous, Ben was excellent and was very knowledgeable about the food and wine. Overall a wonderful stay and will definitely be back.

We visited Knockderry House Hotel for a joint Valentines/anniversary getaway and had the most amazing experience. The hotel itself is situated on a quiet peninsula, with small amount of local traffic going past during the day. The hotel is well situated to reach Loch Lomond and the surrounding area by car, and the West Highland Railway passes through the village of Garelochead (a 10 minute drive away). It took us about an hour to reach the hotel after we got through Glasgow along lots of winding country roads. We were greeted with the warmest smile on arrival and shown up to our room promptly. The room was stylishly decorated, just the right temperature, and very clean. We stayed in a 'Cosy Double' for five nights, and planned to head out and explore the area most days rather than stay in the hotel. We had breakfast at the hotel each morning which was always delicious, served by the wonderful Laura who always welcomed us each morning with more enthusiasm than I would expect of anyone early in the morning! There were plenty of options to choose from the menu, as well as a selection of juices, pastries and yoghurts to help yourself to. The views out over the loch from the breakfast room were really beautiful. The hotel boasts a large drawing room for relaxing during the day. The fire was always roaring when we were in there and the sofas were particularly comfy. We ate at the hotel one night during our stay. The food was really delicious and the service was pleasant. It wasn't particularly cheap and the menu wasn't massive however what we had was well worth the money. I would definitely recommend Knockderry House to friends and family, and hopefully we will be returning sometime soon!

We had the most wonderful stay at the hotel. Warm welcome, beautiful location, well appointed room. Staff very attentive, friendly and professional, great cosy atmosphere with that Scottish homely feel. Breakfast excellent, plenty of choice to set you up for the day. Highly recommended when in and around Argyll.

My wife and I celebrated her birthday with a stay at this hotel which is approximately 6 miles from our home. On arrival we received a warm welcome and were shown to our room which turned out to be a fabulous suite. This was such a surprise we were blown away with it, After settling in we went to the morning room for drinks which we thoroughly enjoyed in very comfortable surroundings. In the evening we had booked dinner in the restaurant where we received excellent service beside a very cosy log fire. The food was excellent the staff have to be commended for the service they provided, it could not have been better. Breakfast was like dinner it could not be faulted in any way. I do not know what else to say other than thank you all for the most wonderful stay which was far beyond our expectations. I must warn them we will be back again to such an amazing place which is almost on our doorstep. 5 stars all the way.

What an amazing place to stay. Beautiful, clean luxurious environment. Food out of this world. Staff were overwhelmingly helpful, nothing was too much trouble. Felt incredibly spoilt, highly recommend a stay here, will definitely be returning.

A perfect stay, both in terms of accommodation and dining experience. The room was comfortable and well equipped. The dinner was superb, the experience made even better by Ben's outstanding hospitality and service. Our stay was one of the most enjoyable experiences we have had in a long time.

We were treated excellently by the staff right from the start - very accommodating, incredibly friendly, extremely attentive, fulfilled every wish. I have rarely experienced such a friendly team. In addition, the hotel was quite small and therefore very familiar. It had the Scottish flair we were looking for. In addition, there was a very good dinner!

A nice house in a quite place, ideal to relax and enjoy a tasty dinner. We were travelling me and my wife through Scotland and we spend a night here. The location is superlative, in front of the lake in a super quite position. The room was nice and clean, the bed confortable and the night silent, really relaxing. The dining room is tiny and dishes were tasty and well cocked. There is a saloon we’re you can spend pre/post dinner time which we loved, you really feel the Scottish spirit there

Beautiful place in a quiet location. My wife and I stayed there on a driving tour through Scotland. The bed was very comfortable and the food was great. We had dinner and breakfast the next morning and were very satisfied with the meals. The staff there were very helpful and recomended a nice walking area on top of the hill within easy driving distance from the hotel.
