We (two) rented a car from Bergen and was driving through the fjord and decided on this hotel for a one-night stopover. That's what it's good for - a stopover. Since the hotel is right in the middle of the fjord, the only access to it is by car or tour bus. We were here during a less busy time... More

My wife and I stayed there and it was such a pleasant stay. The hotel is amazing. We had a long drive from Randers and when we got to the Hotel we were exhausted. However, when we got there we went down to the picnic table in the garden. We drank a glass of wine looking at the Fjord and... More

This is a wonderful family-owned hotel. It is right on the fjord (the ferry from Bergen stops just outside the hotel), and the view is gorgeous. It is very homey. Breakfast is a buffet in the Norwegian style, with lots of options for all types of eaters. The dining room looks over the fjord, so it's a lovely sight while... More

This is a basic hotel, however has the most amazing location right on the foreshore on the fjord. Has a lovely jetty that overlooks the best scenery you will find anywhere, so forgive the hotel for the basic rooms, lack of toiletries, no kettle in room, and old fashioned furnishings, the owners are wonderful and you cannot replace the scenery.... This hotel is just perfect if you need to relax with your partner. Cosy vikingish decoration, amazing views of the fjord and gentle staff host you in one of the most famous fjords of Norway. At least one night there is a must if you really want to enjoy Norway fjords experience.

We were traveling as a group and stayed at this lovely hotel for one night. I consider myself indeed very lucky to have got a room in the original part of the hotel. The room was made of wood and was projecting into the water. It had a big glass window from which we had a good view of the... More

I was fortunate to get a room in the original building - quaint doesn't do the place justice. There aren't elevators, so those with mobility issues will want to look elsewhere. WiFi was free & reliable, breakfast was basic, but tasty. I highly recommend this hotel!

Our next stop was at Leikanger fjord hotel. After huge disappointment with Scandic Neptune in Bergen the whole group felt like entering paradise. Although rooms lacked chic and polish of 5 star hotels Leikanger Fjord more than made up in courtesy, cleanliness and better than excellent location. Rooms are furnished simply but clean and spacious. Beds are comfortable and we... More

It was a lovely experience visiting the Sognefjord for the first time and staying for a night at the homely and charming Leikanger Fjord Hotel. The hotel offers the expected conveniences and comforts of any modern hotels yet it still retains its romantic past with its interiors, furnitures, and design. Our room had a terrace with a good view of... More
