The White Hart

1 Gun Lane, Sherington, Milton Keynes MK16 9PE England
Starters were dire - Nachos with tasteless guacamole from a tube / jar & Thai fishcakes that had nothing Thai about them other than a sweet chilli sauce - Also served on a ‘British’ salad. The meat was excellent on the Sunday roast (we t for the triple) but the trimmings were dire - Frozen oven roast potatoes, over-cooked boring veg, tasteless cauliflower cheese and Yorkshire puddings that tasted way too eggy. The pigs in blankets were good. This basic cooking for any chef but a fail here

What a lovely place. We booked two rooms & stayed in the separate hotel part of the property. The rooms were a little tired decor wise but spotlessly clean & comfortable with everything we could need for one night. We had dinner & breakfast there & put their menu to the test by having tapas starters, four different main courses & then at breakfast, four different breakfasts. The food was fantastic with everything served in a very timely manner & together for each course. Our dog was welcomed & very comfortable which made life very easy for us. The premises was excellently set up for social distancing & covid awareness was paramount. We would highly recommend The White Hart & hope to stay there again soon.

I stayed here while attending a work course. I found the hotel and pub to be exactly what I needed and provided excellent quality food and accommodation.
Giles and the team made me feel very welcome from the start and couldn’t do enough to help. Including fixing a faulty radiator leading to a very hot bedroom, despite being late at night.
The food quality is particularly good and I had no need to eat out. Breakfast being the highlight for me. The kippers are amongst the best I have had.
Food can be served to the room if you choose, but there are also tables inside the pub and also in the beer garden.
I will be requesting to stay here whenever I am required to work locally.

Stayed for one night as we travelled across country and were very happy with our stay. The room was clean and functional, although the mattress was a bit soft.

We ate in the pub in the evening and it had a great atmosphere with all of the locals in for a Friday night beer or two. The food was well priced and very tasty, with a reasonable menu and a couple of specials.

Without a doubt the best thing was the breakfast, we opted for eggs benedict which was absolutely delicious. The croissants were freshly cooked and smelled amazing but sadly we didn't have room to eat any more!

The hotel says it's a four star property but it is in no way a four star.
On our arrival we were shown to our room. It seemed to be clean enough. However having tried to make a coffee we had to clean the coffee machine as it was full of coffee grains. We asked for a top sheet and the lady said that she didn't know what a top sheet was, so we said a flat sheet and yet again she just looked blank. About 30 minutes later a lovely lady came up with a sheet and asked if it was what we wanted. The mattress was so thin that you could feel the springs every time you moved and when one person moved so did the other. The bedside light was hanging out the wall. The shower head kept falling down when you had a shower. We told the hotel and they said they would fix it ( they just pushed the plastic clip back in even though it still came loose ). One of the young ladies made us feel uncomfortable every time we saw her.
The breakfast was freshly cooked and very tasty.
We returned after a day out and it was so noisy under our window that we felt we had to go out to get some peace and quite. Neither myself or my husband wanted to return but we did and spoke to the manager. He didn't seem too bothered that we felt the price was too high for what was being offered and we wished to leave. He also didn't seem too bothered that we thought the mattress of a bad quality.
However I will say that at least he did agree to refund us for the two nights we didn't stay.
We were so happy to leave. Please dont book this hotel unless you have too.

Dropped in on spec for a meal and was surprised that we actually could get a table. The quality of food and the range of options on the menu should see this restaurant packed every night.

We started with a plate of Nachos between my wife and I. They were superb and what a portion.

It was only a determination to empty the plate that saw us finishing them - but the impact on the main course was felt.

I had the Lamb Shank and my wife had the Chicken Kebab both of which were excellent. Good portions which beat us. Overindulging with the nachos I;m afraid.

It's a number of years since we were last in the White Hart but after this visit, we will be back again. Excellent experience.

We were a group of 3 couples who stayed as we were visiting Bletchley Park. The day we travelled was horrendous due to a storm, however on arrival there was a lovely log fire to greet us. We were welcomed by Will who was great and showed us to our rooms which were just across the courtyard. One of the couples were on the ground floor and two couples on first floor. Lovely large bathroom with excellent shower, tea coffee facilities plus iron, ironing board, not that we needed them. There were a pair of mens shoes left in the cupboard which did make m think had the room been cleaned thoroughly as they had not been noticed. Food on first night was booked for 7.30, however due to a large party in we did wait quite a long time for our mains, however, food was very good when it eventually arrived. Breakfast following morning was excellent with a good variety. We had booked a Xmas dinner menu for the second d evening but due to mix communication this was not possible, slightly disappointed, however we did have the weekly roast which was lovely. Not sure if I would stay here again as it was mainly to visit Bletchley park and there is nothing around the pub, been to Milton Keynes previously and it’s not somewhere I would visit again but that is just personal choice.

We booked to stay one night here with Giles and his team for a siblings get-together. This place is simply great in every way. We descended from The Wirral, Yorkshire, Norfolk and Dorset and chose here because it is about 2 hours for each of us. The pub is a very traditional feel with open fires and a very good buzzy atmosphere of very friendly locals and their dogs. We had a great afternoon chatting and quenching our thirst! We gathered again for dinner which was superb. Big portions, very well cooked and presented, and all of us thought it was excellent and good value. A very short wall over the car park to our rooms which were all en-suite and bigger than the norm. After a good nights sleep we met for a very good breakfast...All seven of us chose different things (sorry to the kitchen!) and they were all very good.

You can tell from this review that we would highly recommend The White Hart for this sort of gathering. Unless we brave somewhere else next time we will definitely be back here and suggest you go as well.

Lovely pub /hotel with friendly locals and very helpful and attentive staff. Food menu is excellent and varied with something for everyone. I had the chicken and ham pie and the portion was large and delicious. The room we had was average with a soft and quite uncomfortable mattress and a shower that was not the best. Also the floor creaked a lot when the people above us walked around so get a top floor room if you can. Overall I’d recommend this place.

Booked a table for two in "The Garden Room" as that was all that was available. It should be called "The Corridor" as it consists of a row of tables with harsh lighting, no heat and absolutely no atmosphere! The food was no better, rib of beef was mostly fat and gristle and the mash had been microwaved within an inch of it's life. The seasonal vegetables had definitely been poured out of a bag from the freezer. Waiting staff obviously forget about you as had to go to the bar to get their attention so we could pay and leave.
