Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What a beautiful little B&B tucked away in a quiet location but still close to the M1. I booked a room here to break up a long journey and can't recommend it highly enough. The room was really comfortable with all mod cons, spotlessly clean with countless little design and style touches. The service including breakfast was fantastic and Rebecca was a brilliant host. I need to plan another long journey just so I can stay here again!

What an absolute gem of a B & B!! Brilliant room with most comfortable bed and great bathroom with shower and bath!! All done to the highest possible standard. And the host, Rebecca, was most welcoming, with an offer of a glass after our journey!! The fridge was stocked with everything needed; fresh milk, juice and the continental breakfast was delivered in a wicker basket with enough to have a banquet to start the day. Fresh fruit, warm croissants, toast - perfect orange juice. A great start to the day. It was so comfortable and welcoming, we were sorry to have to leave after only 1 night!! We will be back and would very highly recommend this well organised, slightly quirky, B & B to anyone!! A great place to stay.

Everything of the highest standard, cannot be faulted. One tip if you are tall mind your head in the upstairs room as the eves of the roof comedown low, otherwise perfect. A continental breakfast chosen the evening before is brought to your room at a time of your choosing. There is nothing not to like.

I've only been here for 2 hours, looked around the property met the owner and already I want to come back!
Rebecca is an absolute angel and just can't do enough to make you welcome. We were met on our arrival with a delicious glass of wine and she took time to sit with us and get to know about us that alone means a lot to seasoned travelers like ourselves.
The accommodation is spotless, comfortable and everything you need is provided. Montpelier house is now our benchmark for all our future short stays
There is also a very nice pub 2 mins walk away serving excellent meals and a very interesting array of ales and a very dangerous cider, be warned!
In 20+ years of staying in B&B's up and down the UK this is probably the best we've had, I would not hesitate to book again.

I picked the place on price for a one night stay and certainly didn't regret my choice. My sat-nav didn't find it first try but once found and greeted by the owner everything was just perfect. A beautiful room, great facilities, excellent location (short walk to the White Hart Pub with decent food) and a fabulous choice of breakfast goodies delivered to the door for breakfast. The free pastries and cookies looked wonderful but my diet says "No!" much to my chagrin. The owner was really friendly and kind and greeted me with a very generous glass of very drinkable red wine. Happy days.

Another delightful stay at this wonderful B&B. The host Rebecca is so welcoming and made us feel home from home. The welcome drink is such a lovely touch to begin your stay. The rooms are beautifully decorated, modern and clean.
The pre ordered breakfast is beautifully presented, with exceptional produce, you definitely wont go home hungry. Local amenities are easily reached and we will look forward to visiting again soon x

This is the perfect BandB for couples who appreciate a lovely welcoming host, fantastic
, imaginative decor, a wonderfully comfy night's sleep in pristine, top quality bedding and plenty of peace and quiet. The glasses of wine were most unexpected, but delightful. The breakfast basket delivered to our door contained everything one could wish for....in very generous portions and the copious snacks left in the kitchen area were amazing. The best B and B ever!! Thank you so much, Rebecca.

Rebecca is an excellent host!
I was welcomed with a very large G&T and offered an extensive choice of breakfast items.
The rooms are stunning, with such attention to detail, and the breakfast hamper is superb, and delivered to your room, at your chosen time.
Can highly recommend the warm almond croissants.
I didn’t want to leave, and hope to return soon. Thankyou

I was working in the area and was so so happy I came across this gem of a place. Rebecca was so so friendly and accommodating and even offered a lovely glass of red on my arrival - much needed after a stressful day. The bath was incredible. Bed super comfortable and a delicious continental breakfast with everything I could have wished for so beautifully presented in a basket with a vintage tea towel! I can't wait to stay again and will also be recommending to my colleagues. Thanks again, Rebecca and Jim.
