Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Craighall Steading is in a lovely place with a great view over the surrounding farmland and the Lomond Hills in the distance. On the edge of the attractive village of Ceres, it is only about 15 mins drive to St Andrews, with Edinburgh easily reached by car, or train from Cupar. My ensuite room overlooked the countryside was spacious, spotlessly clean with tea/coffee and everything I needed. Bed was very comfortable and bathroom has a nice shower. There was a really good breakfast, cooked and continental using local produce, at a time to suit. Caroline and David are lovely and friendly and great hosts.

We had a great stay. Our room was so nice and clean and the bed was very comfortable! The breakfast was so tasty and we were very impressed that everything was home cooked and locally sourced. We had horrendous weather and the farm track washed away. It meant we couldn’t leave until the track was sorted by the farmer but we were made to feel very welcome and Caroline even made us delicious scones to keep us going while we waited! Dave was great at keeping us updated with the road conditions etc. Thanks so much for a lovely stay. We highly recommend and hope to come back soon hopefully in better weather!

Last minute decision to visit the Dunhill Golf tournament in St Andrews and needed somewhere to stay for a single night. Random google search and came across Craighall Steading, photos and reviews looked good so we thought why not! This was a great decision. We stayed in the Garden View room, ensuite facilities, everything was new, super clean, very well appointed and super cosy - right down to the furry hot water bottle. Sheets, towels, dressing gowns, pillows - all of high quality that you'd expect to find in a luxury hotel. The breakfast was made to order and was really tasty, all made with fresh ingredients, eggs straight from the hens visible through the door, and proper fresh coffee, beans ground to order. The place was easy to find, simply followed sat nav, and was conveniently located for a short drive in to St Andrews. Our hosts, Caroline & Dave, were really welcoming and certainly made us feel at home. We will certainly be back and I'd happily recommend to anyone looking for a stay over.

You certainly pick the best day to watch the Dunhill. Thanks for taking the time to write such a review; with experience as a frequent traveller we have tried to find the best quality with the local or personal touches. In a quite location we are close to all the major attractions in East Fife like St Andrews or the East Neuk fishing villages or even the V&A in Dundee 😊

Beautiful setting, very stylish conversion, lovely hosts and delicious breakfast... (fresh eggs from the hosts' own chickens - what's not to like....) This is a great place - and you won't be disappointed... Clean (immaculate) comfy and homely.

My husband and I stayed here on our trip to St. Andrews to drop our daughter off at Uni. We loved how the home is away from the hustle and bustle of the town, but just about 15 min. drive to St Andrews. It is peaceful, great breakfast and the hosts are extremely accommodating, welcoming and make you feel at home. The beds are comfortable, and everything is kept immaculately clean. The furnishings are all from local artisans and we loved how they combined the new and old. There are also a couple of short walks that we took that lead to the remnants of the old castle that stood there. We actually ended up coming back here and staying a couple more days at the end of our trip. We also used their recommendations for where to eat and everything we tried was fantastic. There is no doubt we will be returning.

Short but amazing night still. Unfortunately we had to leave early in the morning to catch our plane back, but the room and bed were incredible. Combined with a superb view and hosts. Caroline and Dave also managed to give us a takeaway breakfast for our trip back home, with some fruits from the garden

A truly lovely B&B near Ceres, Fife. Such a warm welcome from the host, Caroline, and Cody modern rooms and amenities in a rustic farm setting. Breakfast was superb and suggestions for meals in Cupar gave us an excellent choice of good food and friendly local patrons and staff.

Thank you for you fantastic review. We glad you enjoyed our breakfasts having fresh garden fruit and great local produce is a bonus. We are lucky to have some great places to eat in Cupar rather than always having to travel to St Andrews.

It was truly a fantastic experience. Location was outstanding, living in a beautiful country farm location. It’s like this hidden gem we all need to know about. The property is absolutely first class... Rooms modern, spotless as they say in Scotland and we wanted for nothing.. Everything we needed was provided... Breakfast was also exceptional and all produce was either local or home grown... But most of all Caroline and Dave are amazing hosts So friendly and welcoming and to create this most relaxing and exceptional Time is so appreciated ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We are definitely recommending this location 🥰 Love and Thank you from Sally , Mitzi and Matt xxx
