Great, but the preference is too have more comfort and this was granted at the Mabula lodge. We have stayed one night at Kwafubesi en 5 nights at Mabula. The main reason for the above was that Mabula was not available at the first day of the stay, but again the experience was interesting.

we were so lucky. we were the only ones in the camp and the only ones of the game drive. this was the EXACT experience we were hoping for. but, if the camp was full, only 5 tents, I think it would still have been lovely. a far cry from the hotel, tourist vibe.... what a breath of fresh air....

A few days away from the hustle and bustle of johannesburg. Great place to unwind and feel the African vibe in the scenery and wildlife. We had a lovely couple of days. Would definitely go back even if it is a bit expensive

Kwafubesi definitely gives a true bush experience. Big plus points: location close to JHB; tented camp ambiance; only 5 tents and no young children. Accommodation: Tents were clean with nice linen and electric blankets. Lodge staff: Very friendly and helpful. Game Ranger (Christiaan) was very knowledgeable and made the game drives unforgettable. We ordered a cake for Saturday night to...

If you are looking for exclusivity this is a great spot, only 5 tents, sleeping 2 each. Tents are nice & clean. White crisp bedding. Nice bath with standing shower, mosquito nets & enough space for two. Main area had a small pool, dining area & outside boma. Food was good - enough food. But don't expect gourmet, it's inline...

enjoyed a game drive on a 4x4 with a experienced Ranger. The bush experience is just something that everyone should have! The best part was that the Ranger wasn't just driving around ..he just knew what to do, where to go and how to make us enjoy the game drive. we were dying to see the Lions...and the Ranger just...

My wife and I have been doing a bunch of game lodges this year and this is by far our best experience thus far. The team our helpful and friendly. The tented accommodation is just something that has to be experienced; and the game viewing is brilliant. We will definitely be back!

Bush experience only 2h30 from Johannesburg. Away from it all. Camp open to animals (except lion and elephant) , so one feels really in the wild. Stay at least two to three nights. Much to do on the reserve.. horse riding, quad bike, spa, bush walks. etc. Went in winter to test out how it would be in the cold.....

“Guests staying at Kwafubesi need to be advised that it is not necessary to wait in the long queues at reception (this is very confusing and time wasting) as we waited in the queue only to be told we needed to be somewhere else and then missed our game drive - very annoying and the reception staff were totally unconcerned and unapologetic - not a good beginning to a lovely weekend!”
