Firstly the positives, location was good, rooms, gardens, pool area and beach were lovely but that's where it ends for me. Negatives were poor check in, unhelpful staff on reception who despite me emailing them a couple of days before requesting room set ups as we had 5 rooms and some needed to be twin beds and some king size. Eventually managed to sort it out but then wanted to charge an extra 1000bht a night for a bed sheet and duvet for the sofa which is in every room anyway. Wouldn't pay it so they took the linen away, never had this at any hotel before. Had dinner at the Sundowner restaurant on site and would say that the food was good although expensive but as it was included for 1 night of our stay we ate there. We had lunch most days there but every time we would either get the wrong food or the bill would be wrong. Breakfast was at the Oriental restaurant and was mostly OK but one day we arrived at 10.15 and they had already started closing despite it being until 10.30. Had to again find a manager to sort it out. At check out the lady at the desk totally ignored us, no greeting or acknowledgement that we were there and after a few minutes put our bill on the desk still without speaking, took the credit card, did what she needed and gave it back again without any conversation. The general fell of the hotel is that the staff aren't happy with the exception of the great guy who showed us to the room and a couple of the waitresses in the sundowner restaurant. Would I stay again, probably not, despite it being a lovely place the staff really need some hospitality training. Also avoid the red tuktuk who is often outside the hotel, always only paid between 100 and 200 baht to go into Khaolak depending on how many people, he tried to charge 400baht, totally refused to pay him that, he threatened to get the police but called his bluff.

We are a family of 4, with 2 children ages 13 and 11, the room was a bit small for us with 3 single beds and a hard mattress on the floor (part of the sofa bed). Other than that, the hotel was great. We hired a paddle board and surf board which was great fun. The Buffett breakfast was lovely. The location is ideal, just a 10 minute walk in to town. Lovely hotel, but probably more suitable for couple than a family with teenagers.

We have just returned from a wonderful 2 week stay in the Khao Lak Laguna Resort. The hotel is perfectly located on a glorious beach and just minutes away from the bars and restaurants of Khao Lak. We went on a bed & breakfast basis as we prefer to eat out each evening but most days had our lunch at the lovely beachside sundowners restaurant at the hotel which provided us with a welcome bit of shade. The temperatures generally were around 33 degrees and still really warm at night. We were there from 8th March to 22nd March. As the name suggests, the hotel has a small lagune running through the grounds which attracts wildlife such as monitor lizards, geckos, chameleons, a variety of fish, beautiful little swifts and birds with amazing birdsong. All the rooms are authentically styled in an oriental/Thai manner which suits us, and provided everything you need for your holiday; plenty of beds, umbrella's, gorgeous pools, no loud unnecessary thumping music, fantastic food, great beach, warm sea, and last but not least, the most wonderful, happy & helpful staff. As the hotel was completely full while we were there, we were unable to have a late check out on our final day, so to while away the time we had a beautiful aromatherapy massage at the hotel and then made use of the shower facilities. Perfect end to a perfect holiday.

We stayed at this resort from 28 February to 13 March 2024 staying in a villa/bungalow on the all inclusive basis with TUI. This was our 4th visit having stayed in 2017, 2018 and 2023. The hotel sits right next to the fabulous Khao Lak beach. The grounds are extensive and well maintained as are the two swimming pools. We have stayed in both the rooms and the villas, both are similar size, spacious, well appointed and thoroughly cleaned daily. There was a mini bar with water, beer and soft drinks which was included in the all inclusive package. The Oriental Restaurant was only used for breakfast during our stay, open between 6:30 and 10:30 and had everything we needed, with all the staff really helpful. Lunches and evening meals were served at the Sundowners Restaurant which looks over the beach. A stunning setting to watch the sun set. There was an a la carte menu at lunch offering Thai, pasta, burgers/sandwiches and desserts and one for dinner which was more extensive with Thai, pasta dishes, fish, steaks and desserts. They had a themed buffet at dinner on a Monday, Wednesday and Friday alongside the a la carte menu. The drinks menu included beers, cocktails, spirits, soft drinks and hot drinks and were served from 11am until the restaurant closed. The Sundowners staff were amazing and I’d like to pass on my sincere thanks to Ju, A, Jeab, Na, Nan, Thai, May, Ao, Benz, Poppy, Winso and Aummy for looking after us so well. Apologies if I’ve missed anyone as they were all fantastic. Thank you so much for the lovely birthday cake for my husband’s birthday too. There was another bar near the reception but we only went a couple of times. There was a wine bar but this was not included in the all inclusive package. The beach was great for walking and running on and there were a lot of people enjoying the sea/waves. There was a gym and massages available but we didn’t use either. There are quite a lot of steps in the resort but we didn’t find them a problem. The staff all worked so hard to ensure we had a wonderful experience, we had such a great time we are in the process of booking our next visit and look forward to seeing everyone again in 2025.

Khao Lak Laguna Resort 🇹🇭 This was our fourth visit to Khao Lak Laguna Resort our last being in 2023 We stayed from end of Feb to early March on an all inclusive basis in a private villa. The villa was cleaned daily with towels and bedding swapped. There is a small in room mini bar with soft drinks, water and beer restock on a daily basis. Really good shower with plenty of hot water. There is a good size safe which easily fit’s iPads etc. The air conditioning was good and easily cooled our room. Lunch and evening meals are served at the Sundowner Restaurant. Lunch and evening meals were al a carte with a variety of Thai cuisine, Pasta, Fish, Burgers and Steaks etc. Three time a week there was a themed buffet in the evenings (Monday, Wednesday and Friday). Buffet Breakfast was served in the Oriental Restaurant. The bar in the Club Lounge was extremely quiet and closed at 22:30. The Sundowner Restaurant also provided a bar service from 11:00 through to circa 22:30. There is extremely limited entertainment in the Club Lounge. There are two pools with plenty of sun loungers / parasols, fresh lounger covers are provided daily and beach towels were left in rooms. There is a fitness room with what looked like good equipment, however, we never used it. The beach is hard packed sand and very clean, it’s perfect for running and walking etc. The sea is warm with some waves. The hotel provides complimentary surf boards, two seater canoes and boogie boards. The gardens are well planted and maintained. The staff who we had most interaction with at the Sundowner Restaurant were all hard working, good fun, attentive, pleasant and helpful we would like to thank Ju, Na, Thai, Jeab(Chicken), May, AO, A, Poppy, Winso, Nan, Benz, May, Aummy. Overall, we enjoyed our fourth stay and will return for a fifth visit.

Great hotel the rooms were huge and always serviced well. The shower was brilliant, large balcony. Breakfast was very good and there was a great variety to chose from. The whole garden n pool areas were kept very clean n tidy n all hotel workers were very helpful n polite although there was an occasional language barrier. The pool was just the right temperature and it was very relaxing n never overcrowded. Plenty of sun beds but as usual there were a few too many people who would reserve their sun beds n not return for hours…… greedy and selfish! The beach is lovely and there are plenty of places to eat during the day. Head to the beach…turn right and walk for 100 yards x2 lovely beach type restaurants. The hotel was brilliantly located for restaurants but beware some do not take cards which can be somewhat irritating. The two best restaurants were directly opposite the hotel esp the gold elephant which greeted you with a wonderful cool flannel, excellent service and wonderful food….there you can use your card. The Qcumber restaurant is v small but lively food n its best to reserve table .. they only take cash. Tsunami museum is well worth the visit n quite emotional. The market nearby is definitely worth a visit. For a different beach take a taxi to White sands beach !

Very affordable, beachfront hotel to relax. We stayed here five days in January 2024. The rooms are very spacious and designed in timeless Thai style. The beach is great, the pool offers a lot as well . There are a few restaurants on the beach that can easily be reached by foot, also plenty of restaurants nearby on the street. The garden with games and free surf- and SUP boards are great. Breakfast is plentiful, there’s always enough space to sit. It is hard to get a cup of coffee anywhere in the resort. The beachfront restaurant was okay, not much to write home about. The only irritating moment at this place is that the hotel allows sun chairs to be reserved early in the morning. So at times it can be hard to find free chairs.

Firstly, what a fantastic hotel with wonderful staff. I went there with my girlfriend for a relaxing holiday and this hotel gave us just that. The rooms were great and very clean. Great location. Good food. It's a very quiet hotel so if thats what you are after this is perfect. Right on the beach so you can walk straight from the pool to the soft golden sand which is beautiful. There is no music being played around the pool so its nice and quiet. If you want to go out, there are lots of bars with lively music and restaurants along the road out the front of the hotel all in walking distance. All the staff were amazing, but I would like to give a big thank you to the staff in the beach bar/ restaurant. They were so friendly and nice to talk to every day. The only thing I would recommed to the management, is on the drinks/ food menu, indicate what is not included as part of the All Inclusive package. It will make it easier for your staff and guests. Would i recommed this hotel and go there again, absolutely. Thank you, Phil and Ange (Rm 315, Chang)

The hotel is a sea-side property close to a relatively clean sandy beach. It has its own swimming pool and good clean rooms and cottages. We booked the Similan Pearl sea side bungalow (no. 106) for two weeks during the christmas-new year holiday. It has a beautiful location, peaceful and secured ambient. The Similan Bungalow was daily serviced and cleaned but a bit dark inside and we wished to have more lights especially in the bathroom. The hotel has beach-side restaurant with a limited menu of affordable prices. The food quality was clean and ok. They offered also international open buffet which had interesting dishes, worth trying, at a reasonable prices . We liked this restaurant and taking in consideration its location, we thought it was a better alternative than many other restaurants in the village. Breakfast was served at another restaurant located on the other side of the pool. A wide range of asian dishes but limited vegetarian choices. Cheese and cold meat cutlets were also available for those who prefer western light breakfast. Activities like Christmas Eve Dinner and New Year's Eve Gala were both well organized. It included an open buffet with a wide fresh dishes of international cuisine accompanied with show program and dance music. The resort is a good choice for families and single travellers as well. Well maintained and served by wonderful friendly staff. Many thanks to all of them and in particular to the ladies and gentlemen who served the food at the breakfast venu and at the beach restaurant. It is highly recommended retreat for relaxation!

Great for couples. Very few children. Big rooms (don't bother with a villa). Breakfast is OK with reasonable choice. Plenty sunbeds. At end of town so ideal for shops and the many restaurants. Great beach, especially the part of the beach next to the TUI. Long walks along the ⛱️ with plenty of 🍸 along the way.
