Villacarna is such a lovely complex. The apartment we had was perfect (if a little dates) but very clean. The only negative was that our appointment was closest to the main road and the windows aren’t double glazed. Additionally Cancelada Council organise a summer 4 day event and the music continues till 6.30am . The reception staff, cleaners and gardeners deserve a special mention. The receptionists were so helpful and if they didn’t know the answer were proactive in finding out answers. The cleaners never seemed to stop and the rooms and especially the common areas across the complex were immaculate. The gardeners/facility service team kept the whole complex tidy too. There was never rubbish on the floor around the pool or the corridors. Thank you for a lovely holiday. Special thanks to Vanessa for being so helpful and smiley FYI Laundry available on site - 5.50 for large 10kg (?) wash including detergent. Bath and pool towels provided…

Beautiful location. Close to shopping, restaurants and city bus stop. Wonderful food, friendly people, gracious staff. We were treated well during off season. It was first time to Spain. We learned so much about the area, such a melting pot. Enjoyed the local cuisine as well.

Just returned from 2 weeks at Villacana after a 13 year break and we were not disappointed. The villa was huge, clean and comfortable with a lovely bougainvillea filled garden where we ate meals most days. That is when we weren't eating fresh croissants from the shop or dining at Enrique's, 90 miles or the poolside Azteca. Baraka beach restaurant was closed for a rebuild but that didn't spoil anything. The grounds at villacana are so well maintained and beautiful you can forgive the gardeners for waiting you up early when they work at the cooler start to the day. Everyone from the gardeners to the security staff are so lovely and helpful. We are going back in September for another cheeky holiday minus the kids this time and I can't wait

Relocated to South Villacana for a change. Apartment was excellent,clean and tidy. At bottom pool Enrique's and 90 mile are open and work is ongoing rebuilding the new Baraka Beach. In Cancelada, Casa Miguel and the butchers are open as is the street restaurant. All the the cafes and restaurants at the parking area are open and are as lively as usual. Only blight on the horizon was the Boabab restaurant at the middle pool ( North ). Whilst the food was good the restaurant opened between 10 and 12 am but the kitchen closed at 8pm and the bar shut at 9pm, not great for a late drink. Luckily Gregorio's is up and running where one can dine and drink until who knows when. Possibly the restaurant hours will improve as business increases. The small shop was still in the process of stocking up and I'm sure Lisa will prove to be a great owner. Have owned here for 30+ years and still enjoy returning.…

We first came here over 30 years ago, and recently visited after a 12 year absence. The last 2 years of covid have clearly taken its toll. The supermarket on site had recently been taken over, and they are working hard to get their stock up. Disappointingly, the beach restaurant is closed, the place is a building site, and the beach is a mess, no chair hire, and no service at all. Aztec is also closed, so only the upstairs restaurant and the bar available. The restaurant closed on Thursday, so we were left with 92 miles (the bar), who were super friendly, and sorted us out with take out food for our lunch. Major building work is due to start next week on the beach, they are building a path over the sand, and of course work continues on the new beach bar, sadly we were not told about any of this, and when we queried this, we were just told it was beyond their control. Maybe so, but holiday makers should be informed. We did have a very pleasant stay overall, but will probably not be returning in the near future.…

As a family we have been coming to Villacana now for 30 years, and this last visit which was for three weeks, again has not disappointed. Nestled in the lovely gardens that have not changed in all tht time, it still holds a rustic and calm charm. The staff are always friendly and helpful from the Reception to the Maintenance staff and also the helpful cleaners. Fresh towls offered twice a week and the cleanliness of both the apartments and the grounds is of top quality. The Restaurant was clean and friendly and served amazing cocktails and meals too. Lisa the Entertainment organiser (who incidentally has also been with Villacana for 27 years) was as beaming and smiley as ever and created such fun with her activities. Her Aquafit classes were as relaxed or as strenuous as you wanted them to be and not to be missed. Looking forward to our nexr visit in August.…

Have been going to Villacana for many years now, unfortunatley we had to miss last year due to the Coronavirus pandemic. However, we made the decision to go despite alll the hoops we had to jump through to get there. Generally, the whole area is very quiet. We were extremely pleased to see our lovely Lisa, who has become a good friend, but she is supportive in anything we need to know or do. Lisa certainly works us in her aquafit classes, and even though we have gone for years, there is always something new to learn on her escorted walk to Cancelada! It's a shame that not many were there for the Spanish lessons. Lets hope more people brave it next year, its worth it!

We had booked an apartment on this excelent complex with Francisco, sub tropical gardens, several pools, by the beach, with restaurants on site and supermarket. Cancelada village it is just 10-15 minutes walk from the complex, has really nice restaurants, Casa Miguel restaurant can not be missing, pharmacy, shops, groceries shops and many more. The apartment was superb, we had a 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms poolside, the apartment was great, modern, spotless clean, well equipped, garden furnished very comfortable. Our childrens love it, they were all day long on the pool where for us was great as we been able to watch them. Francisco and his team always been very helpfull, comunicative from the day we book the property, a very welcome on arrival and during our stay. Strongly recommendation to use him and his team we defintly will be back to this complex.…

We stayed at this beautiful resort last year August 2019, the first apartment we were given was a total nightmare. It was dirty and cockroach infested. Every time we opened a kitchen press 2 cockroaches came out, at night time they would gather in the bathrooms. There was a rug in the sitting room with a human nail on it. The downstairs toilet smelled horrendously and the smell would not go away even though we kept cleaning it with toilet cleaner and bleach. After three nightmare days and nights we were finally given a different apartment with no cockroach infestation. Even though the resort was lovely we were disappointed with the lack of service, the reception was closed for hours during the day and when we asked for a compensation for the nightmare experience in the first apartment, we were just fobbed off.…
