Very average food that I could have cooked better myself. Weren't even told that we were expected to order from the bar so sat there waiting for some time. Not offered pudding or coffee. Pour presentation of food, greasy and not fresh by any means. Poor quality meat, what a shame. Looked good on the menu but hugely overpriced

Having already left one review explaining just how good The Hatchet is, I thought I should write another one to confirm what I had already explained. If you have not been, then I suggest you do! Pubs that serve food fall into two categories; those that are good in the winter (cosy with large open fires and soft chairs) and...

My husband and I stayed here while on our way to Stonehenge, then to visit his ancestral church in Somerset. Very English/comfortable/nice people and Great Food! We were tired after flying from Seattle and this was just the spot to unwind and relax with some terrific food. Next time will stay longer!

lovely weekend. Made so welcome in the pub with our dogs. Cuddles, treats and bones all appreciated. Lovely open fires and log burners. Super food, very filling. Our room had its own heater to adjust to our liking. Loo seat was soon replaced when fixing broke. Gun safes available in each room (not needed by us). Lots of pheasants about....

This was a beautiful place to visit set in a quiet rural area. The pub is a great place to walk around locally. Plenty of wildlife to see in and around the lovely wooded glades. The accommodation was lovely. You must try the pub food as it was delicious. The staff were extremely pleasant and welcoming.

We stayed at here as I was working in London and then Southampton the next day. The room we stayed in was very comfortable and spacious. We also had a meal upon arrival which was very nice, although a little on the pricey side. The pub is really nice with a great atmosphere and good food. The room we stayed...

A Friday night stay on my own. Met by the very friendly landlord. The pub is a lovely old Inn. Saw the metal structure in the garden....yes a bit ugly. The room was large with a massive and comfy bed. The decor could do with a bit of an update but definitely clean. Shower was powerful and hot. The tv...

Having been to Highclere Castle for the day and staying in a nearby B & B, we were looking forward to a nice meal in a proper country pub - The Hatchet Inn provided that perfectly. It was full of character inside and the barmaid was friendly and very helpful. The beer was excellent (Timothy Taylors) and we both had...

Stayed here with a group of colleagues after a business meeting. Rooms clean and very comfortable. Food was phenomenal. Definitely worth a revisit Staff very friendly and locals also friendly. We stayed after our meal for the pub quiz and the atmosphere was buzzing.
