Hotel Anna, opened in 2002, is a small, family-run 3-star hotel, with only 7 rooms. Each of our seven rooms has private facilities, TV, a telephone, and free WIFI, and is individually furnished to a high standard, in keeping with the traditional style of the farm, the childhood home of the author Anna from Moldnupur, whose books were popular in the 1950s. After a day out immersed in the natural wonders of the region, Hotel Anna is the perfect place to unwind and enjoy the high level of personal service we know our guests deserve. You can relax in our hot tub, stroll up the hill behind the hotel for the scenic view, or meet the friendly Icelandic horses in the fields all around.

Hotel's Favourite
A nicely located ‘boutique ‘ hotel with a great restaurant conveniently located for waterfalls and stunning scenery nicely set back offthe ring road and only about 40 mins from Vik . The rooms in the main hotel are a bit old school and flowery in style rather than traditional Icelandic -and could do with a little remodelling . The new annex rooms are better if you want a more Nordic vibe. Otherwise very friendly and welcoming team with a good breakfast. The wild goose burger in the restaurant was awesome and the child’s burger very generous in size . Highly rated all the food we had. Slight gripe the hot tubs were a little green with algae but the views stunning .

The hotel is quaint and a little worn, with an antique vibe to the rooms. The stay, however, was comfortable and the staff very friendly. I did not try the hot tub and stayed in the main hotel so cannot speak to the new apartments rooms on site. The walls are not sound proof and I could hear everything from neighboring rooms including telephone conversations and bathroom noises. You can also hear any noises out in the reception area, but luckily, everyone seemed to go to bed at the same time. The dinner was excellent and the breakfast buffet got the job done. I would call this "just average."

I rented one of the nice apartment's that they have to offer. Its spacious very clean an brand new. The Hotel also has an older building wich offers a very cozy atmosphere and displays interesting historical facts about the region in the breakfast hall. The staff is very friendly and professional and I would specially like to thank Mr. Blerim for a very good and professional service. The hotel also has hot tups which are perfect for enjoying the beautiful surroundings. And BTW great value for money.

We stayed one night in hotel Anna. The reception an staff are very polite and welcoming. The dinner was one of the best during our trip. I can recommend this hotel ! Not sure why I have to write 200 characters if I already said that I am happy.....

We wound up here after the road to Vík was closed. We arrived at 9 pm. The man at the front desk was so very kind! The restaurant was closed, but he offered to make us soup because we had not had dinner. The bread was the best we had. The breakfast was very good and full of variety. The building is quaint and historical, but had everything we needed.

Nice spacious room, especially the bathroom. Clean. Not difficult to find. Scenic Area with horses surrounding the grounds. Welcoming staff and very good food at their restaurant. Large buffet breakfast too. Outdoor hot tube was nice and warm even in cool weather. Only a slight problem was encountered with checking in because the reception desk is not staffed 24 hours.

This is a small comfortable hotel with a very helpful and friendly staff and excellent food in their restaurant. We stayed there 2 nights and would certainly choose to go back there again in a future visit. The location is a very good one in southern Iceland - great scenery, close to a couple of the major waterfalls and to one of the jumping off point for 4WD tours to the Þórsmörk valley and vicinity.

Wow- what a special place. Don’t miss this on your trip to Iceland. The location is awe inspiring. You can roam around the pasture and make friends with the horses, do an amazing hike along a gorge, and take in the sunset behind green mountains. We stayed in the apartments and it was fantastic- everything you need. Had a wonderful dinner with exceptional service. Great breakfast. On our second night we walked to their other restaurant and it was delicious. You almost don’t need to leave the property. A great spot for checking out all the sights near Vik. The hot tub was a wonderful way to finish a day exploring. The staff couldn’t be nicer. A true gem.

In this section of the country, there is rather little development, just the occasional cluster of buildings forming either a hamlet where people live, or a set of buildings used as accommodations for tourists. This one is a mix of both. You pull off the main highway and drive a km along a road that parallels the main road. Off of this are long driveways to separate accommodations as well as to a tiny hamlet that contains a church, cemetery and a tractor museum. Nearby is also a tiny waterfall. The location definitely makes you feel you're away from things and is quiet although while we were there, it was terribly windy, so much so, it could be difficult to walk if you went against the wind. There were lots of horses around, and while fenced in, could get pretty close to the apartments allowing you to pet them. This hotel has a main building with a restaurant, breakfast room, lounge and hotel rooms, then two separate buildings containing the apartments. We stayed in an apartment. These felt felt very new as everything was in good condition, with no visible wear and tear. Each apartment contained a bathroom, a bed room then a separate kitchen/dining room containing a small table, 3 chairs, a love seat, a kitchenette with a small fridge, hot plate, microwave and sink. The cupboards had a small selection of dishes. Except for salt and pepper, there were no other condiments or common items, not even tea or coffee. You could however bum some tea or coffee from the reception. If you plan to cook your own meals, stock up beforehand, as the closest grocery store is a 25 minute drive. There are however gas station convenience stores with a very limited selection about 15 minutes away. There are two outdoor hot tubs, with no roof, but a brick wall providing a measure of privacy and protection from the wind which was excessive at 40mph or so. The restaurant was quite good, the food was prepared and presented well and the main dining room had character, feeling like a country inn. We stayed two nights and ate there twice. A little disappointed that the specials stayed the same both nights, but otherwise, there was enough variety on the menu for non-vegetarians to not get bored. For vegetarians though, they had a pasta dish, and then the second night, a pasta dish with a different sauce so not so exciting for them. The service was good and the restaurant goes out of its way to provide local food options.

This small hotel is ideally located in south Iceland, not than far from VIK and the rocks with the puffins, the black beach, the DC-3 wreck, the waterfalls of Skogar and Skogafoss, and Thorsmork. So we stayed there two nights. And could have stayed three nights. We booked a room in hotel and an appartment in the garden. Both were clean, spacious. You can go for a walk watching some birds or enjoy the hot tub. On the first evening, we went to the restaurant and that was excellent. About everything : the staff, the food, simply amazing. Staff was helpfull, friendly, funny, a nice guy. The main course and dessert were tasty and it were art masterpieces. And more than enough. So, we recommend Anna.
