This is the fourth time the family has gathered at the amazing Holestone Moor Barns for our pre-Christmas get together. Once again, 13 of us, travelling from Scotland to Devon and many points in between, had a wonderful weekend in this beautiful barn and stable conversion. The attention to detail is superb and all the little finishing touches and extras make you feel just like you’re at home. Matt is a most kind and welcoming host who cannot do enough to ensure you have a great stay, including sorting out a problem with one of the cars! The Christmas market down in Matlock always proves popular and this year Matt even arranged snow on our last day!

I was greeted by Joe (Matt the owners son) who passionately showed us round the property. We had the barn conversion and it was absolutely perfect for a group of 10 adults. Perfectly clean, spacious and welcoming. Joe brought in freshly laid eggs, a nice touch. A few cakes were left out for us on arrival and they were exceptional. Joe and Matt provided us with hints and tips for places to visit in the local area and no issue was too much for them to solve. The barn is of a really high standard with comfortable beds, toiletries provided and a fully kitted out kitchen. The huge dining room table was a particular highlight and gave a really nice communal feel to the property. The games room was well equipped and much fun was had in there. I wouldn't hesitate to book again with Holestone Moor, it could easily become an annual event! Thanks Matt and Joe!

Myself and my university friends try to meet up as a group at least once a year, this year we decided on Holestone Moor as the location - we couldn't have been happier. Very welcoming and with all the facilities needed for a large group. The property was modern, yet bursting with character and very very clean. From the cooking facilities, to the entertainment / games room, it was perfect. I couldn't recommend this highly enough and will definitely be looking to make this a yearly trip.

These barns are simply fantastic. Just returned from a family and friends get together for a 50th Birthday celebration, Matt the owner is such a nice bloke and so accommodating. We used both barns, the stables and the main barn and both are very clean with everything you need. The barns are perfectly suited to the location, with mix of character and modern with loads of space, whether in a comfy lounge (loads of seating), with log fire and large tv. There is a perfectly kitted out kitchen and large dining room , great for sitting, relaxing and playing family games. The larger barn has en suite in every room with lots of choices of room configurations. The whole place is so welcoming and private in a country setting but only 10 mins into Matlock and loads on the doorstep. There is an impressive games room with everything you need for some fun nights, pool, table tennis, table football, darts and loads more. Honestly can’t say enough about the place. Thank you again Matt n Max x We will definitely be back. Ps, your welcome pack with essentials and those beautiful cakes were a lovely touch.

Just spent a weekend in both the properties. Was so impressed, Everything was provided. Comfortable and clean houses. Attention to detail was faultless. My son is a vegan and they provided Vegan flapjacks for him ! . We were a family of 10 , from 5-90 years. The disabled bedroom with wet room was great for my Mum. The games room was a real asset. The chickens were also a popular feature, and Graham the cat was a beautiful friendly boy . Joe ( Matt’s son ) was at our car as we pulled up and showed us round. Can really recommend these properties. Well done , you’re providing a great service .
