We stayed for 4 nights and wish we had booked for a week or more. Pete was very helpful and we really enjoyed the wonderful tranquil location. Lots to do nearby and walking in the less crowded end of Abel Tasman is a delight but be aware of tide times.

We wanted to 'just get away' and this motel was perfect for that. Our unit, was one bedroom, very private, looked over water and the views were great. It had everything we expected in a motel unit, it was clean, fully equipped with everything we needed, the BBQ area was great, good connection to internet and we will certainly return.

If you are looking for a relaxing base on the beach then this is a great location. We stayed in garden lodge number 2, which was only 50 paces from the beach. The lodges are a little dated and could probably benefit from updating, but ours had all the basics and were comfy enough, if a little tired, they accommodated...

We stayed in room number 5 which has huge glass windows/walls overlooking Pohara beach. We can spend the whole day just staring at the view. You can see the whole of Golden Bay with Farewell Spit in the far distance, really WOW. Although the motel is not that new, the unit is very clean. The laundry facility is a plus....

Paid $135 NZ per night for 3 nights in room #8. A true beachfront operation. Beautifully updated unit with all the bells and whistles. We could not have been happier. Fully equipped kitchen, fast WIFI, good hot water pressure, beautiful beach right outside the door. Very good parking. Pete; the manager, was very helpful. Laundry on site. Convenient to shops,...

We had a ocean front one bedroom unit. Absolutely stunning views. Very clean, lovely big windows to sit behind when the wind came up. Sunshade blinds as well as curtains. First motel I have stayed in for a long time that had all the glassware matching and wine glasses that held some wine!! Very nice personable young man at reception....

We've stayed here twice, both times in Garden 2 bedroom unit. It faces onto a large grass area, has two separate bedrooms, a bathroom and a small living room with a utility kitchen in the entrance way. As noted by other reviewers, it's very basic and although it sleeps four people, the living area has seating (not counting dining chairs)...

To be fair we stayed only one night. Location of the overall property is stunning, Our unit was on the road side of the property but traffic noise wasn't an issue. The unit is compact and not a lot of space to spread out, particularly in the twin room. Plus side is that the heater warmed things up quickly. The...

Our uniti was within easy walking distance to the sea. Good place to find sea shells. Beach was wide, flat. Easy drive to Tanaka with delightful little shops and a fantastic bohemian restaurant- Dangerous Kitchen. Unit was typical for a moderately priced NZ motel. Equipped with kitchen, dining/living area, two bedrooms and a bath. Clean. Outside deck with table and...

Nice location with view of the sea but our 2brm unit was too small even for 3 adults. Promotional material states sleeps 6 - this may be possible but 6 adults could not fit in the lounge area - we had trouble watching tv with only 3! Nice grounds and unit was clean.
