Darling inn that sits beside a river and shops. The food in the restaurant is delicious with an array of tasty choices. I had a beautiful salad. The grandchildren, hamburgers. The staff is efficient and nice.

We came here for a wedding. The Inn was charming. Nouri room was "across" hwy 1 so we had no view but the room itself was charming. Great TV, big bathroom, nice bed. By choice, I would prefer to be in the main building because the view of the river is breathtaking. The wedding was facing the river and it...

On an adventure to explore the local area while staying in Carmel, we ventured south to spend time in one of the most beautiful places in the world. We stopped at this Inn to admire the gardens and happily found the restaurant at the exact right time. The sun was just emerging to warm the deck that overlooks the river...and...

For now only available from the Carmel side of the 1. Still cleaning up after "the storm". Lots of water in the river and we had drinks just overlooking it. The food looked pretty good. Drinks are reasonably priced but the service not so good. Gift shops and it's a good stop.

Okay, I've never done this before, but I'm going to review a place I haven't stayed at. And here's why: The Big Sur River Inn has INCREDIBLE customer service! My friend and I had planned a road trip down Hwy 1, and we wanted to stay at Big Sur. I combed the reviews of all the motels and inns in...

If you want a base camp for your exploration of Big Sur's shoreline, mountains and forests, Big Sur River Inn is a good choice. If you want to be pampered with spa treatment and luxury accomodations, find another place. Fairly priced. The room was clean, the bed slept well, the linens were good (my wife made me write that) and...

This is a hard call to make. The rooms are a bit dated and more motel than inn if you stay in the queen sized rooms. Than mine size suites are roomy but still a bit dated. Its also a bit pricey foe the quality but there aren't a lot of choices in the area so I guess that's the...

We really enjoyed the nice people in the restaurant, the Food was very good. The King suite was excellent, very comfortable! The overlook the Big Sur River, which runs high and fast at this time of the year.

This Inn on Hwy 1 has a great location , its very close to three state parks so lots of outdoor options. Property sits behind a river, so guests have access to the river. Most of the rooms are on the mountain side, on the other side of the road but there are some rooms with river view. There is...

Tiny but clean rooms with decent bathrooms. No cell service and food was plentiful and not bad. Not somewhere to go for a special meal but certainly worth a visit! The bar makes their own infused vodka and drinks. Go put your feet in the river after a day of hiking!
